In this mission of Halo Wars, Professor Anders alerts Captain Cutter of what she saw down in the relic. She warns that Arcadia may be in danger and that they need to go there to figure things out. Captain Cutter orders the crew to make way to Arcadia. When they get there Arcadia City is under attack. Your job is to defend three cargo ships at the Spaceport to allow people to evacuate the city. This mission is known to be extremely difficult so I am going to be doing three separate videos for this mission showcasing three separate strategies in order to better assist you with this mission. In this video, we will be using the ODSTs and how they are used in this mission. Prepare for multiple mission restarts. Hardest mission on Halo Wars Legendary, but it's my favorite to get high score one and trying to save most civilians, marines definitely the way to go, create great buffer and take over the towers which counter the covenant reinforcements and help keep civilians safe. The taking over their base and saving the civilians is pretty hard, you would need insane luck.

I've spent an ungodly amount of time on this mission to get the elusive Legendary Gold medal and I think I've cracked it. Marine/ODST strategy is more or less the same, but with some tweaks. It is actually better to let Cargo 1 be destroyed. There is no penalty to the final score if one of the ships gets destroyed. The civilians are scripted to head to the ships through the middle and the west. Before Cargo 1 gets destroyed in the video, it has 200 civilians inside it, while Cargo 2 has 500. The Covenant tends to send troops to the middle part of the map where the civilians get picked off. If Cargo 1 gets destroyed, they will ALL go from the west. You can see it from the minimap in the video. If you have Marines in the garrisons, they will have a safe passage. I managed to save over 1500 this way. For the second base objective, you do not have to keep it until the end of the level. As soon as you can build them, I have Forge get the western site and then immediately go to the eastern part. I wait until the eastern base gets built, then I destroy it. You will still get the secondary objective at the end. I'm pretty sure the Mega Turret that spawns in the end is scripted to shoot at your units, even when it doesn't have line of sight on them, not at the cargo ships. When it spawns, make sure there are no units near the transport.

Lots of luck involved here with the spartans, their so powerful if they make the right moves they can save you a bunch of resources but if they screw up you have to hold off the push by your self and that sucks, perfect run would be taking out their base and keeping both cargos alive.

When I first played this game it took me a long time to get through relic interior because I didn’t know if getting that skull was part of the game storyline to complete but it wasn’t but then Arcadia city proved to be a big challenge and I didn’t complete it for a couple days because I was still new to that strategic game and then came shield world that was a tough one.

Halo Wars is a pretty difficult game overall to learn if this is your first strategy game. Easily the most difficult mission in Halo Wars is Arcadia City. That one took several tries to get right.

Bruh it took me 3 attempts and nothing worked. It was minute 17 and the 1st transpot was destroyed almost instantly. In the fourth attempt i also lost the first transport but i managed to get the odst in time. Still the covies took the second base and all i was trying was to not get overrun. It is actual hell.

I was glad to see that others eventually figured out that marines were the way to go, but looking back at it we still didn't understand that much when it came to Rts games. Many mistakes were made in this clip. You didn't have an army producing for almost 10 minutes of the game and when you did start producing an army you produced marines with almost twice the resources per minute needed. I believe it only took two supply pads in order to support that when you had 4 fully upgraded ones. It's hard to really judge much though because I believe Halo wars punished pretty hard for combat efficiency. Something that this mission should have definitely been more lenient towards. I just find it interesting and discover my love for the genre all over again when looking at my own clips of old gameplay. Imagine playing this mission again. How differently would you approach it? I can easily say that I would go without the reactor from the start and focus on a barracks with two supply pads. The sooner I get those marines out the better. Look at the amount of micro you performed in this clip. It was insane and also unnecessary. Avoid the garrisoned covenant and build flamethrowers? Perhaps it could have saved you a few heals. How easy would this mission be today compared to then?😁

Will I receive more points if I destroyed the Convent base later on during the mission or will I receive the same amount of points if I build the the UNSC base first without having to destroyed the Convent base?

I have been stuck on legendary for a hot minute I seem to get closer and closer each time.I am playing it on pc.This is by far the most frustrating level for me.I must of played it a dozen times by now.I have gotten good at micro and macro but something seems to be missing.I was 00:50 seconds away. I had ship 2 healed but a banshee managed to kamakazee attack it.I even managed to get the ODST upgrade and destroyed it with the RPG upgrade.Something tells me this level is a masochist paradise.Even with the A.I. Spartans help it's ridiculous to me.Once more into the breach for me!This time I managed to get all four hornets to survive and forge lost his Warthog.Maybe focusing on the ODST at the last second was my down fall? I managed to spawn four of them.

Just did it again but used the Hornet build 4 heavy supply pads 1 upgraded power plant 1 air pad and 1 barracks. I got it down to 00:43 seconds this time using 13 hornets and 2 regular warthogs.The mega turret got me this time....I was about to celebrate too...I managed to get my economy up to the point where I always saved 350c for a emergency repair but I kept building Hornets one after another it seemed to be working.Sigh...

Finally got it after being stubborn and relentless, so here is my formula, 2 scorpions,2 Wolverines, keep your first 4 hornets alive and well.When ever you get the chance make sure you heal both the transport ship and your units at the same time.Make sure you micro Forge around the map to get the supplies.Saving Adam is optional, Keep your ground vehicles at the far right transport its going to get blown up by a mega turret anyways.While you have your fortress at two power plants make sure you upgrade one but don't forget to keep an airpad up so you can spam hornets while you are moving around the map.Use base turrets to buy you some time. At around the 00:33 mark move your units to the middle transport and keep a heal ready.If Forge loses his Warthog keep him in one of the Lift Towers.If you are lucky all of your units will focus on the drop ships banshees and vampires in the middle transport and just pray that the mega turret doesn't blow up your middle one. I took thirteen hornets to the right of the far right transport to destroy an approaching enemy army.Turns out they fail to tell you until late game that the enemy has two bases. I finally got it but man....if only we can control those spartans.Keep at it rookies you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait, you can deploy a heal zone??? LOL (I just started playing and pretty sure that wasn't in the tutorial). That would be quite handy in helping me keep the Hornets. Been suffering out here and haven't reached Silver yet. Although I do establish two bases from the get go and am able to defend them fine (tons of Supply Depots!). Tanks with explosive pods are my go-to as they destroy everything and I don't even build a Barracks. I've even completely destroyed the Covenant base to the East but surprisingly not even Silver.

Took 40 tries to start a match where Cargo1 wasn’t instakilled and my base wasn’t raped by Hunters and Locusts the second I tried to build my first building, and on that try I basically saw nothing but Elites and Banshees spawn. Done all the games SLASO thrice (Infinite 7x too) and this is the most bullshit Halo’s ever put out

Why are you using the boomstick skull? Not only it reduces your score but also, civilians boarding the cargo ship count as “destroyed units” when they board the ship and a high number of them will explode, dealing severe unnecessary damage to the ship in the process

Yep, I don't like making it easier or more difficult for the average player. Good 'ol Legendary and that's about it. Any skulls are turned on are like "wuv woo" or those kinds of skulls.
