The Sprint500 does support the Daihatsu 3+1 trigger system found in your Mira. Please contact your local Haltech dealer to discuss your project in length.

We do not make a plug in for the Nissan S12, as it is a better solution to put a new engine harness in these cars (the standard harness’ are often badly deteriorated!). I recommended contacting your local Haltech workshop to get a quote on wiring a new engine harness into your car.

and if there is no base map for your vehivle, you are screwed? how do enitial base maps get started and come from? my car needs a base map, but it doesnt exsist anywhere. where do i turn?

Hi scott !! I own a daihatsu copen 4 cylinder 660cc JB-DET Engine in japan !! Will the haltech 1000 support this engine ?? How can I base get the mapp for it ??

Is it possible to make a basemap from scrach for a vehicle that doesn't have a map associated with it? I'm looking at removing the stock ECU of my MG TF but there are no maps for it anywhere. Cheers. P.S. How do engine designers make their basemaps? Do they blow up lots of engines with trial and error or is there a science to the starting point? i.e. Making every single square the same value rather than having it graduated for different engine conditions.

If we diy install a haltech ecu. And the base maps in the software are not present due to not having a common engine conversion. From carby to efi. How do we go about getting a base map to start the engine?

Love the vid Scott this will help me to load up a base map for my evo 6, I currently have the platinum 1000 but it is password protected. By an unknown tuner based somewhere.

Gents With these current mods on my 92 GTR: -Tomei Twin Turbos 8260 -Tomei Manifolds -HKS exhaust with muffler -NGK Iridium -Napol Performance Coil Packs -Fuel Pressure Reg @ 43 psi -AEM Fuel Pump 320 -Deatschwerks injectors 800cc -Wiring Specialties Cable -Greddy Swirl pot -Greddy Oil relocation kit []MAFs (stock) has been cleaned Can I just plug load a basemap to get it to the tuners safely? Are the basemap MAF/MAP? I have bad sputtering since the mods these mods were installed Thanks

What about older cars like the 84-88 nissan s12 do you have a plug and play ecu or will there be some wiring modification involved. If so what the best way to approach the right way to set it up ???

Ben Roberts It is recommended you dyno tune your car after adding/changing any power adder.

It's a shame you guys don't do your own stand alone dash or even a mini display to be able to do minor adjustments such as boost , slight ignition and fuel adjustments. Pain in the ass having to kart around plug in unplug a laptop every time. Would there be a way to incorporate such functions in to the dated dash at some point in the future? Maybe something to look into.

Hi, after I've installed Halwin, I only see the ECU Maps folder which only has 1 Toyota map. How come I don't have all the other base maps. Really need one for an RB25DET.

RallyartTurbo343 If you are taking your car to a tuner then he will be able to do a custom tune on it without a base map, but if you need a base map just email support@haltech.com with your car/engine specs.

Unfortunately not. They are very different systems so it will need to be tuned from scratch starting with a Haltech base map.

looking for computer software and Obd interface for cheap. any suggestions? or any suggestions for learning beginning personal tuning. carburetors don't work the same;)

For an entry-level OBD2 compatible system, I’d suggest looking into the Elite 550: www.haltech.com/elite-550/If you are interested in learning more about the tuning side, check out an online training course such as www.efi101.com or www.hpacademy.com

Download the tuning software that has a map-building feature in it. You just input certain engine parameters i.e. comp ratio, bore n stroke, fuel type...etc, and it generates a safe start up map for you.

Yes, Elite series ECUs come with a whole lot of base maps - if you would like a specific base map just shoot our tech support an email and they'll send you one:) support@haltech.com

You will need Windows XP to run that software. There are some good threads on our forum on that subject that can help you:)

Ok I was confused everyone was talking about using Windows 95 98 7 8 10 Vista and all the different ways to make it work I didn't see any difentive post saying xp was the way to go thank you and from your experience is the e6x a good ecu for a older car like my b5 Audi atw it's far from stock if you have time to answer I don't wanna hold you up

It's an old ECU but there are still plenty of them around running cars all over the globe. If the unit is in a good working condition it should work fine on your car. If you have any problems - give our tech support a call or email support@haltech.com

Dude... Can you or can you *not*, pass emissions with Haltech or *any* ECU, piggy or alone, on a 2jz GE NA vvti? You're a cool honest guy and I know you'll answer. LOL! :)

That all depends on where you're located, and what your local laws are. If it is legal in your region, and your tuner is capable - then yes it is possible. We have many customers who have passed their local emissions laws with a Haltech, but as stated, you'll need to confirm if it is allowed with your local authorities.

A customer brought in a car with your stupid Sprint 500 ECU which is password protected. Upon attempt trying to unlock the ECU, it is now blank and it is asking me to upload a map/base map. None of my maps on my laptop would go in because it says it is too new for the firmware that is in the Sprint 500. But the firmware cannot be updated without first uploading a map into it. What now? throw it away? How more stupid can this get?

1. We don't lock the ECU - the tuner who puts his tune in it locks it. Resetting the ECU to its factory settings does indeed wipe the map. 2. The Sprint 500 has been out of production for several years now so understandably the new maps (designed for a new generation ECUs might not work with it. 3. You can download the firmware for your Sprint 500 from the Downloads section of our website. We also have a selection of base maps available for download. Yes, you can load the firmware without having a map loaded first. 4. A phone call or an email to our Tech Support would have saved you all that frustration and had you up and running in no time:)
