For the last live Ham4Ham (for now) Renee sings a song cut from the show at the request of Lin-Manuel, who's in Austria. Alex Lacamoire leads the band and Rory O'Malley plays A. Ham.
romeo the loyalty people of the theatre have is really amazing. most are super kind save from a few bad apples. it's because of the bond and the respect people have for the performers.
Who wouldn't Also ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cSk19m6WhfA.html I covered congratulations and did a hamilton Mashup if anyone is interested
After the Reynolds pamphlet Angelica: u ok eliza Eliza: Angelica: I made dinner Eliza: what is it Angelica: roasted ham Alexander: Angelica: (stares at Alex angrily)
fun fact though she was already married when she met hamilton and she wasn't forced to marry him... she eloped with him (against her father's approval)! try also searching up angelica and jefferson's letters to each other. they'll probably catch your attention ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Renée is just roasting Rory, and at one point Renée gets the whole audience to sing along right? well for some reason Rory, the guy who is being roasted, sings along.
Alexander: It was an act of political sacrifice Angelica: Sacrifice? Alexander:.....Shit Angelica: I'm about to end this mans whole career Also ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7EYoA2_jvLc.html I did a hamilton Mashup if anyone is interested
So, I was laying down right? And I laughed.. ok, you following me? After that, I could’ve sworn my sleep paralysis demon squirted a spray bottle of bleach cause I heard something
Makes me sad to know that we will never see Hamilton with the original cast... especially Renee Elise goldsberry. But hearing her sing this song makes me wish this song was still in the show
Aviator 123 they filmed the original cast performing it. They haven't announced any plans to release it yet, but I guess we just have to be like Burr and Wait For It.
@@KidoKoin Forgiving without accountability is stupid. Cheating is not a mistake, it is a decision. Truth is that these people are dead and it is only on the basis of assumption that they truly patched up their marriage rather than surface level agreement.
Why did they have to cut this song out it’s so good it shows how much siblings really love each other well in those days edit omg I have 68 likes most likes ever
There is a concept in writing that you have to "Kill your darlings." It means that, no matter how intrinsically good an individual phrase, song, chapter, character or idea is or HOW HARD YOU WORKED ON IT, if it doesn't integrate into the whole or impedes the flow, it has to go. This is a very clever song but it impedes the emotional flow from Alexander's choice in "Eye of a Hurricane" to Eliza's reaction in "Burn." The same goes for the whole "Sit DOWN John!" rap and the characters of John Adams and Ben Franklin. Other examples: In "Aladdin" the song "Proud of Your Boy" and the character of Aladdin's mother, in the "Lord of the Rings" movies, the Death of Sauron and the Scouring of the Shire. Other examples from "Hamilton," Lin set up the whole "Not gonna throw away my shot!" from the beginning of the first act, but when he finally got to the moment of the duel, he cut the line "Now I HAVE to throw away my shot," because, let's face it, it was hackneyed and obvious. He instead plunged into the intensity of Hamilton's racing mind in his last moments. The result is brilliant.
The sass level from Renee is delicious. I love the crowd for singing along, and I love Rory's awkward Alexander and huge, dopey , open-mouthed smile at the end. What did I just type?
Congratulations lyrics: [ALEXANDER HAMILTON] Angelica [ANGELICA] Alexander Congratulations You have invented a new kind of stupid A damage-you-can-never-undo kind of stupid An open-all-the-cages-in-the-zoo kind of stupid Truly-you-didn’t-think-this-through kind of stupid Let’s review: You took a rumor a few, Maybe two people knew And refuted it by sharing an affair Of which no one has accused you I begged you to take a break, you refused to So scared of what your enemies will do to you You’re the only enemy you ever seem to lose to You know why Jefferson can do what he wants? He doesn’t dignify schoolyard taunts with a response So yeah, congratulations [ALEXANDER HAMILTON] Angelica [ANGELICA] You’ve redefined your legacy Congratulations [ALEXANDER HAMILTON] It was an act of political sacrifice [ANGELICA] Sacrifice? I languished in a loveless marriage in London I lived only to read your letters I look at you and think “God, what have we done with our lives And what did it get us?” But that doesn’t wipe the tears or the years away I’m back in the city and I’m here to stay And you know what I’m here to do? [ALEXANDER HAMILTON] Angelica [ANGELICA] I’m not here for you I know my sister like I know my own mind You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind And a million years ago she said to me, “This one’s mine” So I stood by Do you know why? I love my sister more than anything in this life I will choose her happiness over mine every time Eliza Is the best thing in your life So never lose sight of the fact That you have been blessed with the best wife Congratulations For the rest of your life Every sacrifice you make is for my sister Give her the best life Congratulations
"and we said yes because we always say yes to him." Rory's face when Renee announces she's singing Congratulations 🙌🏽 "I begged you to take a break, you refused to" is ALL OF US so fab. The passion at the end of this is AMAZING. I love this.
I'm never going to get to see the original cast live, and now they're stopping the live Ham4ham shows. :( I loved this one though. It made me so happy hearing people sing along to Congratulations.
even if you can't see the original cast, I saw the show right after Lin and the rest left and the new ones are absolutely AMAZINGLY and just as talented!
I'm so mad it's not her in the Hamilton mixtape. The girl singing in her place is good, but she doesn't have the same professional sound and lacks the grit in the line "blessed with the best wife," which was crucial to the emotion Renée demonstrates.
Emmy Ma Bruh. I already know that. It was just bothering me because the mixtape version is the only one on Spotify, which is more convenient for me. I've actually grown used to the mixtape version though and enjoy it.
I love the song, and anything Renee, but i can see why it was cut. It kinda competes with "Burn" for viewers' attention as the high emotional point in the aftermath of The Affair. And you can not cut "Burn". "Congratulations" does nothing for the rest of the story by itself. And as much as i love a good roasting, "Burn" does that job quite sufficiently and more subtly. Again, i love the song, but if you are creating a masterpiece, don't think, what you can add to it, think, what you can cut from it.
Breaks my heart this is ending. Ham4Ham was just one of the things that set Hamilton apart from all the other Broadway plays. SO very special. Thank you for it! it has been wonderful. Putting it on RU-vid has made it possible for all of us who couldn't possibly get to New York feel like we were part of Ham-nation!
+cococadeaux I can only guess that since Lin and about 85% of the original cast is gone the rest are not interested in continuing. That's at best just a guess. I was as shocked as you when I saw it on Facebook.
+cococadeaux rumor I heard was that a nearby hotel kept complaining that people couldn't get to them plus NY police were tired of basically monitoring and sectioning off a giant block party so often. Digital ham4ham is supposed to come back later tho.

MasonMinePlayz Miranda explained that he wanted the focus to be on Eliza’s - not Angelica’s - response to Hamilton’s betrayal. I think he was right, but this is an awesome song!
Hannah Rose a part did of Congratulations did appear in the play during the Reynolds Pamphlet but the rest of it was scrapped by Lin for the audience wanted to see Eliza's much faster
6:34 this simply made my whole week and then she casually grabs her phone and starts filming the crowd, like she’s so happy to see their happiness, I love her with all my heart
The sisterly love in this song is beautiful and powerful, she made it seem like she was talking about it like it was a real thing, she was fierce, powerful, and her vocals are igstravidant ( sorry if I spelt that word wrong )
