Hand Speed - Understand how to use it…

If you want better club speed you need to use your hands correctly. If not you will loose speed instead of gaining speed.
Let me help you get a effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook.
Long and straight is every ones goal but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can get better.
Find what inspires you. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.

You sir, are a treasure. Please continue educating us on the swing. We can never learn too much, especially with your simplification of it. Thank you, Marcus, with your method golf will no longer be chore but a joy to experience.

RU-vidrs watching lag, hold the angle, ground forces, body rotation, stop and follow Marcus, in my humble opinion, your game will improve massively, like mine did, simple, no paralysis by analysis, no complicated swing thoughts, I'm almost 70 and hitting it further than ever, thanks to Marcus.

Hi Marcus. Another great video. For quite a few years now I have been trying to hit from the inside and until I subscribed on your channel about 18 months ago I didn't realise I was a puller and not a pusher. It is quite a change mentally to get that feel of accelerating your trail hand past your lead hand just before impact. Having hip and wrist issues makes the swing change a bit harder. The push you describe is like the throwing action Faldo describes and it's only now I feel I am making headway. I put this down to your instruction videos which are so easy to follow. Many thanks.

Thanks Marcus. This explains a lot. Why is lag, body rotation, leave out your hands still the number one "method" taught
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Год назад
Hi Claes. It's the recipe for a fade or a slice and many golf instructors think that is the best shot. I like the draw and that's why I say the opposite. As a golfers we all need to make a choice. 👍
@vinrxx

This is perfect for me. As we gradually age our raw power is less. Increasing the wrist motion can be done at any age. I'm going to try it during practice. I hope I don't lose too much accuracy. We'll see.

first if all, I’m your fan. Question- since both hands are contacted to the club, how you can speed up the trail hands/ arms and slow down your lead hand? Thanks
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Год назад
Hi Victor. I can help you to understand what to do but I can't help you do it. Maybe this question is a video topic. I started slow with a wedge and gradually increased the speed to learn the motion. After that it's all about measure club speed and watch the ball flight. It's a lot of hard work similar to going to the gym and try to get stronger. Hard work pays off...

@buddyvance5326 Год назад
Marcus, can you use the handle and achieve the same result? With the split grip you can push the handle back with the left hand (if you are a right ie) allowing the top hand (the right Hand) to whip through. Like a hockey slap shot, I am guessing. Maybe a bit flippy but seems to work for me.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

You are spot on. Find any drill that can help you achieve that move. 👍

Hi Marcus. In your opinion, is it important for the leading edge of the club to be parallel to the lead forearm at the top of the backswing?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Год назад
It depends very much of the grip and is really hard to achieve. It's not a must in my opinion. I'm more interested in halfway down and forward from there.
