@@1anre The Black Badge is a two day in-depth training course in the safe competitive shooting techniques required not only to compete at IPSC events, but to deliver the confidence and expertise to use handguns in the safest possible manner. It is a mandatory course required to shoot IPSC matches in Canada. The government doesn't want people shooting and makes it hard for gun clubs to operate. cost under $300 try and get in on it. There is a lot of people trying to get the course and you will have to wait.

Unfortunately no one has ever done that considering your firearm is registered with the range and a permit is in place from the RCMP to travel to and from your home to the range. Time place and date to travel. Can never use someone els restricted firearm at a a range!

@@kevinkennedy-zg9ex You Either don't have a PAL or have no clue what our laws are, if you and the other person have a restricted license you can both apply for an ATT and file paperwork to loan your restricted firearm to someone who also has a restricted license for up to 6 months, the person you loan it to then can bring it home then go to a gun range and back home, restricted firearms are not registered to any range, they're registered to the owner and the owner must keep their firearm at their home address and can go to and from the range, it can be any gun range, they can get an ATT to travel and then would store it where they're staying during their travel and go to and from any range where in the town or city they're visiting, they can loan the restricted firearm as I said, so you either don't have a restricted firearms license or you do and don't know what you're talking about.

This is a question I get repeatedly by students. If I have a restricted licence, does that give the police the right to search my home without warrant? I find this question interesting / funny because people think their privacy / rights are infringed more so if you have a restricted licence rather than a non-restricted. If you don’t want the government or police to be excessive intrusive then you probably should not get any gun licence. Canadians should know that the licence is issued by the RCMP, the Canadian federal police, the Canadian Firearms Program is entirely run by the RCMP. When you apply for the licence the RCMP does a background check on you, checks with your spouse/partner and references. That is pretty detailed and for some Intrusive but necessary. If you have a gun, any gun and the police have suspicion or reasonable grounds to conduct a search, do you think it would be that hard to get issued a search warrant??? I think it would be very easy for them to get one and it would merely be a formality. I heard that all PAL holders are checked EVERY SINGLE DAY on the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), if you commit a crime especially of a violent nature the police will revoke your pal and pick up the guns the same day or next business day. Also People Seem to forget that we are not the USA; you don’t have any right to own a firearm in Canada. The 2nd Amendment doesn’t apply here because we don’t have a Constitution and we are a different sovereign nation from the USA. Despite pro-gun lobby groups saying you have firearm rights that is a misnomer. Owning a firearm is a privilege just like a driver’s licence. If you screw up at driving too much or severely ie. drunk driving you get your privileges taken away immediately.

Despite many new laws, Canada still is one of the top 5 best “gun” countries in the world. Unlike the USA, despite having very high capita number of guns owned in Canada, we do not have the same high rates of gun-related deaths and accidents (involving both legal and illegal guns) as the USA. Canadian gun owners know this and I am sure they are very proud of that fact too. And I’m sure many Canadians would say the same thing about living in America. ;) Thank you for your comment.

@@markcarson3215Regular civilians / People are still getting issued the RPAL. The delays for the applications were during COVID. They are back to normal now. Reason for delays is primarily, 1. people don't fill out the forms correctly

I presume no but I figured I'd ask anyway since I still had a few things I've always wanted to add to my collection in various styles. sbr's and pdw's are still avalable under rpal. No transfers at all for now. either from a shop or person to person. You can however borrow handguns from other people you know who have them.
