Very good work. Engine sounds great and absolutely beastly when you lite the afterburner. I would say it is ready for a radio controlled fighter jet.

Very nice upgrade, and as we have come expect from your talents, she's running beautifully! I was wondering if you heat-cured your ceramic, but I was guessing from how pretty it was that it was not. =) The really high heat-resistant rattle can ceramic coatings like to be cured in stages, starting out around 300* (F) for one hour, let cool, repeat, let cool, then 30 minutes at 550 or half your expected max temp. For jet exhaust duty if you ever decide to redo it, I'd recommend going straight for a Cerakote. They have an assortment of colors in their highest temp-resistant line (1800*F) that now includes an air cure product thankfully. They say to use specific HVLP guns and needles for application, but I've used a run-of-the-mill Paasche airbrush which works fine so long as you clean it out IMMEDIATELY between coats.

Hi! I am not sure how well it would work, but maybe you could try and see if a graphite spray could work? The idea being that graphite will thermally ablate and (hopefully) should not delaminate from the steel. You might need multiple coats, however. Do you think it is worth a try? Small flame, big flame. Nature friendly engine. Today's video was a blast! Thank you!

that graphite is carbon and won't last long even in an environment with less oxygen like the turbine exhaust. Ceramic coating is a pretty good idea when it comes to high temps, oxygen and metal. Maybe sandblasting would have prevented the coating from delamination.

@@jakobwagner7097 The expansion of the metal might have contributed to delamination. Until a better solution(like alumina coating) is implemented, graphite could be used to run short tests.

Wow, awesome!! Can you see any thrust improvements with the new compressor? I've read somewhere that less blade count means less energy required to drive the compressor.

Hi Shanaka, not shure yet about thrust. I think its a bit more. The new compressor wheel has more blades, than the older. The new has 8 full and 8 splitted, the older had 11 fully bladed. Andy

Hi Tosh, von Effizienz kann man bei dem Gerät nicht sprechen. Ich möchte es endlich mal zuverlässig zum Laufen bekommen, ohne jedes Mal an der Dose rumschrauben zu müssen. Würde das Teil gerne mal auf einem Jet Treffen präsentieren, sonst gibts keinen Plan das irgendwo einzubauen. Mfg Andy

Die Keramikbeschichtung geht möglicherweise garnicht wegen der Hitze ab, sondern durch die schnellen Temperaturschwankungen. Langsamer beschleunigen und mit wenig Leistung nachlaufen lassen könnte helfen.

Hast du die Keramik Schicht auf einen polierten oder angerautem Untergrund aufgetragen? Brauchst du einen Flammenhalter? Vielleicht könnte ein solcher den Flammenfluss ein wenig verbessern.

Hi, Ich hab das Spray auf das vorher entfettete Inconel aufgesprüht. Bei dem Material ist nicht viel mit aufrauhen😤 Bei 10:10 kann man den Flammenhalter erkennen. Die sternförmige Struktur ist der Flammenhalter. Ohne den würde die Flamme gar nicht im Nachbrenner bleiben. Mfg Andy

​@@j.kuhlmann8765 Denke auch, thermal expansion coefficient der Keramik wird wahrscheinlich ähnlich anderer Keramiken bei so ~3-6 x10^-6 [K^-1] sein, Inconel liegt eher so bei 11-14. Vielleicht geht es besser mit Titan? Ist das Inconel nicht aber sowieso resistent genug um die Temperaturen abzukönnen?

Hi Young, these are the current bearings I use. www.kugellager-express.de/keramik-hybrid-spindellager-hcb7003-e-t-p4s-ul-17x35x10-mm You can read the PDF Datenblatt below the text. Balancing I do in my hand. I have a U shaped alloy profile. It takes the shaft with the bearings. Then I spin the shaft with compressed air and feel the vibration. I only balance the shaft and the turbine wheel, because the comp wheel comes already balanced out of the box. Then I try with knead to find the position, where the vibs getting better. If all feels good, I grind off material on the opposite side. It takes some time and good feeling, but it works for me. Andy

Yes, you have to order extra balls. Remove the retainer for the aft bearing and insert 16 balls. I like to have a small gap. 17 balls would also fit, but then its a bit tight. I will measure the size and send you a message. I think the balls are 1/4 size. Andy

I was asking about impeller compresor manufacturers original drawing, due to minimal clearance between housing and impeller (0.1 mm) Better to ask how you made housing for compressor? Hi Aleksandar, 0,1 mm is a bit too small. Better 0,3 - 0,4 mm because of thermal expansion. I use wheels fron Ebay. Kinugawa, Mamba. The intake is made of a big round of alloy. After center drilling, lathed the right diameter for the wheel and with a radius cutter, I lathed the radius from the wheel. It takes some time to fit the radius from the wheel into the alloy.After all is good, I sanded and polished all and made the outer shape. Andy

Hi, The holes should center the flame and prevent too much glowing for the exhaust nozzle. They were drilled and bent with a mandrel. Andy

@@dnl_xr dann fehlt mir aber ne Menge Luft zum Antrieb der Turbine und die Abgastemperatur steigt enorm an. Die Luft kommt einfach aus der Turbinenstufe und wird dann in das äußere Rohr geleitet, welches das innere umgibt. Doppelwandrohr mit 1cm Luftspalt. Andy

Hi Patty, thats also a problem. I had 1,45 Bar at 65 000 rpm 70 000 is max rpm. Before the intake blew out, i wasnt able to have a look at the gauge. Now I collect new datas with the new wheel, but first I want to install my fixed nozzle without a/b. Andy

Hi Micha, keine Ahnung! Ich habe keine CNC Technik. Alles ist mit herkömmlichen Maschinen gefertigt. Lediglich die Drehbank verfügt über eine Digitalanzeige. Ich spanne alles ins 3 oder 4 Backenfutter und prüfe mit der Meßuhr den Rundlauf. Handwerklich habe ich auch bissl Geschick. Alles ohne Zeitdruck und vorheriges Überlegen hilft auch😉 Andy

Ja, das ist klar. Deswegen nutze ich industriell gefertigte Räder, die im Turbolader verbaut sind und schon feingewuchtet sind. Das Turbinenrad ist ebenfalls "lauffertig" und stammt von der Tornado Kampfjet APU. KHD T 312 heißt das Teil😉 Andy
