Excellent video and explanation of this feature. I use it ALL the time when I’m on the freeway on my 22 Platinum. It was strange at first but now I’m used to it. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much. I did find it strange at first and still have my hand resting on or very close to the wheel when I pass 18 wheelers. After using it for a while, I have noticed at night, the eye tracking is not quite as good. It pops up more than it does during the day, to watch the road. Could be just me though. Have you noticed this?
Great explanation, I like this feature on my truck but i really would like it if Ford would map more roadways in western Canada, woefully inadequate right now.

Nice Mitch. Covered a few of my Questions I had on the System. Good Video. (08/19/22) Update on Our Blue Cruise. It does work, but MAN is it Flaky??? It JERKS through BIG Sweeping Turn's and eventually Shut's Off and has me Take over??? At this Point, out Here In California, It seems to work Best on "STRAIGHT LINE ROADS" and that's It. I don't "THINK" I've crossed over the dotted lines??? As of Yet. But for Us, It's Kinda Herky Jerky. We actually are a bit Reluctant to use it on anything but Straight Line Freeway Driving or OUT in the WIDE OPEN Highway's with Fewer Vehicles around. "IE" Highway 5 for MILES of Straight Lind Driving. Bummer, Paid ("Thousand's) for the Feature???

@@mitchcox That's all i've come up with also. On the EDGE, If someone is with you and on the Phone, Not using the Sync system, It's just a Touch of the Button. Which I think is Convenient? 🤷♂... O well. It's Not a Biggie, only paid $87K OTD for this UNIT.😬.. Can't expect too awful much "EH"?
@@S58985 Nope! Not Using the Adaptive Cruise Control with the Lane Centering Jimmy. I know how That works, It May "Look" kinda like that's what's happening Jimmy, However, I can see in the Display that "Blue Cruise" Is On and Functioning. It's Just Flakey. It's Been 4 Month's ago that this was Posted, and we have had "1" OTA Update since then. Which was a Cluster from what I've seen on Line. But..... Since that Update We've used the "Blue Cruise" a Number of Times, It's Still kinda Goofy on some Turns in Our Area, but it still Has my Wife saying "Turn that Stupid Thing Off" It's DUMB! It don't work right. And I have to Agree with her, I think it Need's some work on the Software. It works, and it works on the STOP n GO Part too, which is Really Cool, But the Software is Glitchy at Best. My Buddy just bought a NEW BMW SUV that has Whatever BMW Calls it Co Pilot or something, We went on a ride and took an Off Ramp that had Wall's and was really a Wide Long Sweeping Turn, this thing handled that like it was on RAILS, I tried it in our F-150 and It would NOT Navigate the Same Turn, It SHUT OFF and Lit up the Dash like a Christmas Tree and I had to Drive the Truck through the Turn. So, We'll just wait for FORD to Figure something out hopefully B 4 our Purchased $1,995.00 3 YEAR Plan EXPIRES?????? And we Have to "PAY" FORD $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to Use the Feature?? I just wanna know how you are getting over 600 miles on a tank with the powerboost. I fill up my 2021 platinum with 93 octane and most I can get is 520 miles on the 30 gallon tank
Not every tank but I have definitely achieved over 600 miles on a tank. really depends on how much highway driving I am doing vs. towing a trailer. A lot of weekends I tow a trailer around so that definitely doesn't help the MPGs.
I had it on my 21 Lariat and I can say - I didn’t like it! On the straightaways, it seemed to “hunt” for center and was constantly shifting side to side. On turns, it would veer to the road marker on either side, then overcorrect to the other side. Immediately I would get the warning to “grab the wheel”. Two weeks ago I drove 120 miles to trade in my Lariat for a 22 Tremor, and while traveling all interstate highway to get there, I encountered the above situation at least 6 times. I don’t have BlueCruise on my Tremor and I can honestly say I won’t miss it at all.. This feature still needs tome refinement and NOT ready for prime time in my opinion.
Very interesting, I have not encountered any of the above. I notice it does hug the right line more than the left. But none of the shifting side to side. Maybe the software updates have corrected the issues you had. Mine is a 2021 and it works great. Have used it for 300 mile trips and 600 mile trips. Worked wonderfully. I will say that at night the eye tracking doesn’t work as well. Prompts me to watch the road when I am watching the road.
I have a 2015 Model S… it is constantly going side to side. Just bought a 23 Lightning and the Blue Cruise is absolutely amazing compared to the older Tesla. No side to side at all.
No. You don’t have to have the app at all for BlueCruise (Hands Free). It is an option you can get when you buy the truck. If you have the window sticker it will list BlueCruise if you have a 22+. If you have a 2021. It will say 360 Active Prep package.

Not quite there yet. There are two IR sensors that monitor your head movement and track your eyes. If it notices you looking away for too long it will disable and provide audible feedback and even start to slow you down.
My Ford truck is 5 years old. I just made my last payment. My side driver assist gave a warning and stopped working. Ford has a MAJOR problem. The tail lights on mine started to get little cracks and internal brackets broke. This did not happen from accident or abuse. The tail lights started to leak and that destroyed the sensors in the tail lights. It’s a $5000 and up fix. You can see a RU-vid video of this called Car repairs are out of control. Ford should recall their trucks, they are not safe and I would not trust a Ford self driving car or truck. The sensors should be water proof and a lot more reliable. Just wait till your truck with driver assist functions starts to age. It’s possible if you don’t get it fixed the truck won’t even start so they got you by the …..
I had a 2015 XLT and did not have any issues so when the new Hybrid came out I upgraded to the Platinum. Haven’t had any issues from it so far but I did buy a 100,000 mile warranty with it due to all the computer based advanced features. Hopefully I won’t need it but I have it if I do. Sorry you have so many issues with yours.
