Today, Christian goes hands on with three incredible watches from the showcases at London Jewelers!
1. The Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph
Introduced in 2018 or 2019, we have a monopusher chronograph in collaboration with Minerva. It's got a 40mm case with a brushed finish throughout with a large crown and a single pusher for the chronograph. The Montblanc M1321 is the caliber powering the watch, a descendant of the Montblanc caliber 1320 from the 1920s. At $30k, it still manages to offer quite a lot for the money (especially being in steel).
2. The Bvlgari Aluminum Watch
Originally introduced in the 1990s, the Bvlgari Aluminum is an impressive reedition of that original watch. It's a reasonably sized watch, at 40mm, with a compact lug-to-lug length, and the case is made of aluminum (except for the titanium caseback). There is rubber in the strap, which articulates like a bracelet might, and a rubber bezel with the brand name printed twice. Powered by ETA movements, and at under $3k, there is a lot of value to speak of here, too.
3. Carl F. Bucherer Heritage Chronograph (automatic)
Finally, we have this beautiful annual calendar chronograph from Carl F. Bucherer, which comes in at a whopping 45mm. The watch is affixed to an incredible rubber strap, and has an iconic panda dial that gives it a sporty edge. It's a very thin case, despite the automatic movement, and rides that line between elegant sportiness and refined dressiness. Especially given the price point of $7k, it's a hard watch to beat for the money, even more so once the brand and its lack of ubiquity is factored in.
