I always start when papering by sharpening my scissors with a little diamond file, a couple of strokes of the file makes a big difference even if the blade seem sharp.

Get yourself a paste machine Brilliant for blown vinyl and lining especially Timing blown vinyl at an exact time is well over the top if anything needs longer , even more with no pattern , does not matter about stretching and less likely to bubble Also with a machine takes the stress out of the day Paper hanging is quite mentally taxing as you are continually thinking , measuring Just my thoughts
