I've not checked every legal channel but I'd bet that he is one of a kind. And his aspiration to do pro bono law from his RU-vid income is such an honorable thing.
Touching on HGR crying about her duty to inspect... When I was in the USAF, I was part of the base honor guard. When we had funerals, I would get the blanks from the base armorer, who showed me they were all blanks. I held them until we got to the cemetery, where I gave them to the NCO of the firing party, where we both checked that they were blanks. He gave it out to the members of the firing party, who each checked they were blanks. And all this while I was still watching everyone. We were all trained to know what the blanks were and weren't, and we still had numerous pairs of eyes on them. (That's 4 checks on 21 rounds going into 7 rifles) I don't think it was too much to ask for her to check 6 rounds
behind the scenes video... Hannah was handing guns to actors without safety checks. Hannah was leaning on a double barreled shotgun pointed directly at her face. The Jury probably got chills seeing how dangerous Hannah was with firearms
Yeah she definitely was reckless with them. I do wish Alec Baldwin had been convicted as well, because of his equally reckless behaviour, but I do believe the judge made the right call, given the circumstances of what happened. Law enforcement and the prosecution definitely messed up there.
Some years ago, a very popular male singer over here, was arrested for DUI. The nurse that took the blood sample was a fan, so she replaced the blood with her own. And the singer results said he was sober, which was very good because according to the blood sample, he was pregnant 😂
Ha ha, heard a funny similar story. I need clean urine for a court ordered blood test, a person says. Pays for it, passes it to court official, after paying $100 while in courthouse. Urine tests indicate drugs. Then she complains that it is not hers which is not going to get her off the hook, because trying to cheat a drug test is as big an offense as testing dirty.
Ian, I can name ONE PERSON who wants Hannah to stay in New Mexico... ME!!! I live in Arizona, and so does my immediate family. I don't think she's going to learn her lesson, so I don't want her in my state.
@@ndenise3460 The problem is, "as a 'felon'", hasn't really stopped those determined to do what they want to do. Like I said, I don't think she's learned her lesson. At least while he was waiting for her sentencing trial, she's proved that she thinks she's smarter than everybody else. (While proving she's not.)
I don't think she's really a danger to people, though. She may be careless but I don't think she is EXCEPTIONALLY careless. I think in this case her carelessness lead to a death, but the same way a DUI does. Maybe even less so.
I never believed Morrisey was trying to do anything for a higher purpose, when she took the stand. It was all just hubris. She regrets having let Alec walk and wants a do-over. I doubt she'll get one.
I think she was trying to look like 1 let down by my lower ranking staff and 2 morally outraged by it and did not know . She did know says the evidence.
I’m going through all of the Janet videos. I’ve been subscribed for a couple years and I’m am a member but I don’t get notifications for your shows 😢. I have to search for them. Love your fun attitude Ian. I’ll have to start setting a timer
As a mech eng Ive met many cats and dogs named bolt, bearing, roller, cog, gear etc. Now I'm learning that Zora is the lawyer equivalent to that and it's even more adorable.
Morressy is a moron on a witch hunt.. this is so so bad. 😂 did she not see how pissed the judge was that day and the scathing description of why the case was done with prejudice. She’s seriously going in front of this same judge and say she’s wrong 😂 Baldwin should sue her at this point
Hannah Guitierez gets caught with a video of herself with a gun, gets thrown out of a bar. Runkle wishes he had a picture of himself with Supernatural guns, may get thrown out by the bar. 🤣
That’s so interesting regarding the couple suing the surgeon who branded the lady’s uterus. I was informed that would be done prior to my hysterectomy as it is something many surgeons do-they apply an asymmetrical mark to determine right from left, though some use individual identifying features or apply sutures. My father was a surgeon & he was a tad surprised that the medical board would even review that, given its common practice for a hysterectomy. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the initials he used were those of the University from which he obtained his medical degree. Interesting nonetheless, perhaps the difference lies in actually bringing told this would happen.
She's pleading to to a deferred sentence because she thinks that she's going to win on her appeal, succeed on her parole, and not have any felonies on her record. She still thinks she's going to get her gun rights back and be an armorer again. (I doubt she succeeds at probation. She has no regard for authority or rules, and no personal accountability.)
I got out of aircraft mechanics after two years of college and thousands of training hours once I realized that one small mistake could lead to the death of hundreds of people and I’d be the soul person to blame.
@@Mickey-rd5uo Really that is a pathetic sentence, you have never had a slip of the tongue or mixed metaphors just wow. You couldn't figure out he meant to say bathroom in a bar? Oh and please don't come back with the feeble "it was a joke" routine.
Si regarding Hannah, for me the problem lies in that she is guilty but she is the last chain in a long chain of failures that took place both on Set and during the investigation. The fact that Kenney basically had free access to everything through Hancock, they allowed him time to cherry pick inventory to give them and then have him even more time before checking his mess of a company was a complete issue. The fact Zachary was somehow given immunity is baffling. The fact that apparently Hannah not only was doing multiple jobs that didn’t allow her to do her Armorer Job properly (which she stated and got shot down for), and that her superiors (Kenney and Zachary) somehow didn’t face any real investigation while claiming they had no responsibility was a disaster in the investigation. Yes Hannah is guilty, yes she probably should not be allowed to work as an Armorer again , BUT she is is the low hanging fruit, I still maintain that Kenney, Zachary and Baldwin should also partake of the shit sandwich and in bigger portions than Hannah
Even if Baldwin's defense knew about the existence of those rounds, isn't it still the obligation of the prosecution to disclose that information and therefore a Brady violation whether they knew about them independently or not?
I wonder as to the quality of an interpreter too because it just says that you get one and nothing about if they're any good. I mention this because, way back in the day, I was working as a school custodian while I was working my way through EMT school. I forget how the principle found out that I spoke Spanish but it was probably that I mentioned having lived in Peru before that and being fluent in both English and Spanish. So one day I'm going about my usual cleaning and the principle asks me if I can help with some translation because a student is in trouble and his parents only speak Spanish. So, being an idiot who wants to help, as I am want to do, I agreed to translate the conversation. Now I am not an official translator of anything. I know what people are saying in both languages and I know how to speak both languages, which is not necessarily enough to be a proficient translator. I have several difficulties with translating too. One of them is that, since I decided to learn Spanish in very much the same way as I learned English when I was a baby, namely by making an ass out of myself in the language, I got my brain into either being in English mode or Spanish mode (the same thing did not happen with French that I learned much earlier than Spanish). I basically learned to associate the concept with the word in Spanish, which I assume I must have done in English, instead of associating the Spanish word with the English word. So it hurts my brain to translate between the two. This wasn't a problem in this situation though other than that I appreciate the more complicated context of the meaning of words so that I translate in a way to try to get the larger context of how the word is used across and I do that in both directions so it constitutes many more words that the professional translators that you can hire. Everyone will certainly understand what is being said more but I think it's more awkward for both parties, especially when they don't directly know what the other people are saying, for me to elaborate on the context of the meaning from each side, which always requires many more words for me. I feel like the translation is lacking something otherwise though but that seems to be just me. Nothing could possibly be harder than to translate for my mom, though, and this was my second time translating English to Spanish and back. It wasn't so bad when I was just having to give the larger connotiation of the Spanish words with a few additional ones in English as I had to do when I was translating for someone who came to Peru briefly, but translating for my mom was a lot harder because she uses more difficult words and doesn't know how to simply what she wants to say, which is probably also why I'm better at learning other languages since the first thing I go to when I don't know how to say something is to see if I can find a way to get my point across in words I actually know. Now I was fluent in Spanish by the time my mom came to visit me in Peru so it was less a matter of finding simpler words but more a matter of realizing how many turns of phrase we use in the English language, My mom is more educated than I am and I'm still pretty damn educated but it wasn't more the phrases we use in English that are really slang or at least make no sense in other languages if translated literally that caused me problems. The technical terms are often nearly identical between Latin-based languages (which actually confuses me sometimes too because I feel like I'm just forgetting the word because it couldn't be quite that simple lol). The same holds true for a number of Peruvian turns of phrase too so I was always stuck using many more words to try to explain the context. In any case, both languages have a simple few words that express so much more than their literal translation could ever accomplish and that's assuming that the literal translation even makes any sense at all. What I worry about is that legalese, seeing as how it's difficult for some native English speakers to fully understand (which could include me in some cases), would be painful and likely ambiguous when anyone other than a high level professional translator translates them. That worries me a lot and I would not agree to even attempt a translation of legal documents, even if I truly think I understand them because that's someone's life, not just an instance of trying to help people get the basic point across and I am someone who lived in the dangerous part of central Lima with somewhat lighter skin and was never pegged as a foreigner because of my fluency in the language. So if anyone doesn't speak the language of the documents in front of them to sign, it's not enough to have just any translator to translate them.I would hope that professional translators would be hired to do this but, being from California, I have heard otherwise or at least that the person whose native language was Spanish, did not understand it and the whole point of language and translations of languages is for people to understand it.
I know I had a homeless guy save my bike bags from being stolen. I had them locked up but I was in the bar at the time and this other guy had cut the locks and gotten my bags entirely of off my bike and was about to run away with them when my homeless friend saw him, knew it was my bike, and scared the crap out of the guy so that he dropped the bags and run. Then, my homeless friend say right there bravely and waited for me to come back. If a cop had come by before I showed up, he might very well have been charged with it so it took a lot of guts for him to sit there until I came back. I didn't get him out of jail or anything that significant. All I did was share weed with him (it's legal here) and I share weed with everyone who wants some when I'm downtown playing music because it's just a nice thing to do. I have helped a few people with medical things too because I'm actually trained in that but mostly I just share weed and roll extra joints for that very purpose because the vast majority of people have a better day no matter how their day was going before, if they smoke a little weed. I used to bring it there to try to help stop angry people from starting fights.
Whenever you were talking about witness protection. I sort of secondhand know somebody who was related to the Hells Angels(of Canada) guy, “ Danny” I think he was apparently snitching and had a bad time
speaking of Jury Duty, at least in Oregon, nothing disqualifies you from Grand Jury Duty. I'm a Pilates instructor, and one of the deputy district attorneys was literally a weekly client of mine...and her husband was also a deputy district attorney as well. Didn't matter AT ALL.
They are probably desperate for jurors up there. You cannot be a Juror if you are not a Citizen or if you are a convicted felon.. other than that it’s a free for all these days. You are eligible for jury duty if you are an attorney now. However…… each side has a Specific number of peremptory challenges. There is usually a specific number allowed for criminal trials and for civil trials. I don’t know what system of jury selection Oregon uses. But usually attorneys get stricken by those that are jury selecting. There are also challenges “for cause”. This is basically when a juror says or does something that causes concern for one side or another and usually its subject to a judge having final say, unless both side agree to strike a juror for cause. Like if prospective jurors tells attorney “I hate black” people and I will convict your client no matter what”. Yeah. You’re not sitting on a jury in a case im trying!
I have 0 responsibilities to any sort of function, and I check all my rounds regularly and inspect my guns and oil them and field strip them monthly. I valued being called a network notsee because I was so strict and consistent on the rules. I can guarantee not a single live round would been tolerated within a mile of that set and I even suspected one thing would been shut down hard and absolutely.
I think this is a really fair deal and I hope she makes the best of it. Sure, the conditions suck but they're really only inconveniences. People deal with this level of inconvenience all the time; getting a visa, dealing with the drunk uncle at your sister's wedding, moving to a different house,... If she stops being stupid and defiant, she can absolutely pass this thing with flying colors without any extra time behind bars. But she'll have to learn how to have fun without drinking, she'll have to make friends that will actually help her steer clear of drugs, she'll have to lose the teenager attitude, and she'll have to get over the loss of her precious gun fun. I think that is a fair punishment for stupidly hiding a gun in her behind to go get drunk for no other reason than to brag about it. Nobody got hurt and neither did she plan on hurting anyone but it's still extremely irresponsible.
the knife thing... same as the idjits who show their speedometer in the vehicle when doing silly things.. self-incriminating is a thing! cheers from BC!
Winning and losing aren't things like is the light red or is the light green or something that can be narrowed down to a true/false question on a test. A win in most things in life is making something better than it would otherwise be should nothing at all have been done to mitigate the circumstances. The world doesn't work in any other way than a win being an outcome better than it would have otherwise been because the ultimate outcome for all of us is that we die at the end of our lives because life is a slow process of losing everything. In that broader context, the biggest win one can get in life is to experience it and learn how to be content considering that none of us gets out of life alive. Sorry to get philosophical at then end here but I did take too much philosophy in college.
33:48 yeah but will she have an ankle monitor? Would that have defined by on the plea deal? I’ve known a fair few idiots who ended up on probation in Arizona and those ankle monitors can register if your drink.
You don't have to roll the dice with actual pee from a rando, there is lab created "pee" although I wouldn't recommend using it if you are testing for the law. Also alcohol can absolutely show up for up to 72 hours.
I would disagree with Ian. Your probation office, or a police office, is probably the *best* place to smoke meth, because then it gets taken off the street right away.
I dont get why Alec's charges were thrown out with prejudice over the prosecution allegedly hiding evidence yet Hannah's hasn't been overturned and thrown out with prejudice. The ammo is relevant to Hannah's case and so the prosecution allegedly hiding evidence directly affects her case. The ammo is irrelevant to Alec's case yet the judge sti threw out his charges with prejudice, why isn't Hannah being given the same treatment? The prosecution still allegedly hid evidence and therefore her conviction should be overturned and then thrown out with prejudice as Alec's were.
Because you weren't paying attention. Bowles knew about the ammo, but out of sheer incompetence, chose to discard that evidence. It wasn't disclosed by the prosecution to bakdwins team as is required. Morrissey also lied twice on the stand: that she didn't know about the evidence and the reason why her co-counsel resigned.
Hannah's lawyer knew about it. It was hidden from Alec's lawyers but not from Hannah's lawyer. And it's evidence that is actually WORSE for Hannah which is why Bowles didn't use it. It's not exculpatory evidence in her case, it only proves she is even MORE guilty.
Not only does the Armorer check every round multiple times, they have to have different types of guns for different purposes, and they check the type and status repeatedly. If you have a gun for dummy rounds, it should not be able to fire period. If you have a gun for blank rounds, it should be unable to load non blank rounds. If you have a gun that must touch actors, it must be a solid rubber replica. Et cetera And the Actors don’t get guns until just before the take, and the guns are reclaimed, rechecked, and cleared or re set up the moment the take ends. If that requires forcibly removing the guns from an actor’s hand, that is what will happen. And if a live fire incident happens, the Armorer can literally halt production. The Armorer should be disliked and feared by everyone on set.
I'm glad Runkle doesn't feel sorry for her. Neither do I. She has proven time and time again through her actions, police interviews, and jail phone calls that she is irresponsible, selfish, and feels no remorse. She caused all of this, the buck could have stopped with her but she didn't do her job. For those who think she is a scape goat or feel like "poor Hannah", She could have taken a plea deal like others did but chose not to, because she refuses to take responsibility for her part and not doing her job, which caused someone to die, so that's on her.
Guess you heard it by now but it's the other case. I was wondering too, seeing the headline thought maybe deal to stop the appeal but this makes way more sense
Literally had to stop watching due to how often Runkle is loudly saying "UMM". He even seems to have invented the hard um. In addition to saying it every few words (But, um, so, um, that, um, yeah, um) manages to say it very loudly too.
He’s reading the court document AND the live chat that is scrolling by the hundreds a minute (at the same time!)… sooooo sit back and relax OR watch someone else (respectfully)
Simple solution. Stay in your own lane and only watch RU-vidrs from YOUR country.😉 Numerous American podcasters have complimented Runkle on his coverage of this case due to his expertise in firearms. The great part of RU-vid is we get to choose what we watch.
I'm not even going to say what I want to say to the person who left this comment. Read into that however you would like. I personally believe Runkle is in his lane. He's an actual lawyer.
