The guy Hannibal cut in half was homophobic lol. He was convinced Hannibal had an "infection" because he knew or assumed Hannibal is gay/bi/pan. I think Will's agitation with Jack at this point in the show is a result of Jack being kind of not great to Will. Jack's pressuring Will to continue a job he feels is bad for him and I think Will's feels he's been walked over. I don't think Jack's stern father figure routine is something Will vibes with. Having Hannibal around probably doesn't help and not just because of his attempts to sow discord. Will called that out so easily that I don't think he's so much influenced by what Hannibal is saying as feeling validated. At this point, Hannibal is a source of compassion and acceptance in a way no other character is for Will. His stoic demeanor is also probably very calming for Will, who spends his life so wound up. Will can yell, can lash out, can say some crazy shit and he'll get a perfectly calm response and solid advice. A friend like this gives Will something to compare Jack to, increasing his resentment of Jack. But that's just my interpretation of the whole thing 😁 Hannibal is quite a "show, don't tell" kind of series when it comes to characters.
When i first saw the scene, where Will watches Hannibal saving the man in the ambulance, i didn't think, that he believes, Hannibal is the ripper. I thought, Will admires Hannibal in this moment. If you remember the last scene with them in this episode; Will went to Hannibal to bring him the vine and said to him: You saved his life. I think, Will is not closer to think, Hannibal is a killer, but closer to like Hannibal.
You intuit a lot! And since this isn’t a spoiler for the show, I’ll say that your observation of Hannibal’s relative openness with women is particularly spot on for the book version of the character. Every positive relationship he has throughout his life is with a female, and he rarely acts violently toward them.
That medical examiner was rude to Hannibal, so... He had to go. And Hannibal is throwing a dinner party. Franklyn and Hannibal both want to be friends with their psychiatrist. I doubt Hannibal would appreciate the comparison. :P LOL Hannibal wants to be friends so badly with Will, "no he's not my patient, we're just having conversations!" That does mean he can actually be friends, Will is not his patient, and also he can share info with Jack... I love that aside from Hannibal: This is very educational. wink. That music as Will watches Hannibal in the truck... He sees something alright. But if it's an epiphany in "this guy might be a murderer" or "this guy looks very hot and competent" way... ;) Hannibal confesses every episode. "I transferred my passion for anatomy to the culinary arts." YEAH HE DID! "Nothing here is vegetarian." SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A VEGETARIAN THOUGH! Hannibal does have a specific pathology that fits his past very well, yes. Though in the show they don't actually go into it as far as I remember. They make some references to his past I think, but they don't really give an explanation I believe. The fans are very much into Hannigram. You're not the only one who sees it.
Haha, your reaction to Gillian was adorable 😄 Also, his conversation with Franklyn was mirrored in two instances - where he was saying "we are friendly" to his therapist and her rebuffing him the way he did to Franklyn, and then there was also the therapist/patient/friend relationship he is creati ng with Will, behaving unprofessionally in many ways such as driving all that way because he missed him (that dramatic, melancholic music playing when Will wasn't at his door). I love my boys and I hope you do too hehe also eeeeee at you picking up on the....attraction/interest between them
Also the Flashback is just an indication of how Hannibal profiles his victims, basically he targets anyone he considers rude or disgusting and beneath him, like that insulting insurance guy, even in a casual meeting and it will be months or even years before he targets them for dinner 😅
Your insights are mostly correct! Nice! I'm not gonna say which is and which isn't as I don't want to spoil things. Hannibal's relationship with women is tender and open because it's part of his manipulation method. I am excited for you to watch the next episodes because you'll get answers about Hannibal's intentions with Will. Their relationship will become more clear in s2 and S3.
Will is changing- for the better or for the worse? That is subjective even when you finish the series. And you're not imagining anything about the relationship between Hannibal and Will. Not saying which theory is correct, but you'll be thrilled when you find out!

They aren't all totally correct but definitely extremely close to the truth and god I wish I could catch up with even half of nuances when I watched show first time)) Many of your theories will be answered during next episodes (can't wait!))) I want to say something about Hannibal's rage issues that you mentioned. We were told that Ripper tortured his victims but it doesn't mean that he did it because of rage or some anger issues. Hannibal is very composed creature. Which by the way makes a lot of his decision, already seen and in future, toward Will even more interesting. Thank you for your reactions))

When you should start season 4 of The X-Files, you should start Millennium. Not only is it 10 times better but it's Chris Carter's companion piece to The X-Files and in Season 7 of The X-Files you get the crossover that sort of acts as a closure to Millennium after it was canceled. It's only 3 seasons. Millennium was one of the main inspirations for Hannibal(along with The X-Files which is why Gillian appears on Hannibal). But Lance Henriksen, protagonist of Millennium, has a cameo on Hannibal as well. It's the only show ever written with full approval and full supervision by The Academy Group, a private organization founded by Dr. Roger L. Depue who was the Chief of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit. Plus other members of the BSU he brought with him. All people specialized in catching serial killers and violent offenders.
