Last week after I uploaded my last video I got sick, again. I started 2021 sick and ended it sick as well. Matter of fact, 2021 was my worst year, health wise, ever. I am not a whiner and complainer it just happens to be true. Did I just have Omicron? Hard to say, since the data suggest Omicron is similar to having a cold. I had a mild but annoying cold. I did not get tested. Actually, I hope I did have Omicron, then it will save me from getting Omicron anytime soon and also I won't have to worry about getting Delta because the data out of South Africa suggests that Omicron will displace the Delta variant in the near future. So that's good news. Anyway, just wanted to say, Happy New Year and hope this year is the BEST ever and maybe it's time to make the change you've always wanted in your live. Move, maybe to Costa Rica, maybe somewhere else. Start a new life in Costa Rica or maybe somewhere else. Start exercising. Eating right, whatever it is, maybe this is the year to begin.

Glad you're feeling better. Michel and I are still here in Invu, thinking about staying through January. We are going to take you for a beer or coffee or whatever you want as soon as we get the bus back and are able to bring it into La Fortuna. It's still sitting in Chachagua being expertly repaired by Dennis Mora Saborio, the mechanic your contact found for us. We are hoping for a lifelong friendship with him and his absolutely amazing wife. Life is good, Mike! I'm sorry your year was so crappy, but I believe much happier times are ahead.

Hey Mike! Happy New Year! Sure sounds like you had the bug. Hard to tell since it's so similar to a bad cold. And getting tested can be difficult in places. Thankfully it seems to be a milder version that's hitting a lot of folks. I tend to think everyone is going to get it sooner or later and will provide folks with some level of immunity. Happy New Year Mike, sorry you’re not feeling well but hopefully it will be the only time you feel this way in 2022. Not sorry to see the end of 2021. Hopefully Covid will leave with it and we can all get traveling again. I really enjoy your videos. They are so helpful and informative, so helpful to Costa Rico tourism.

Happy New Year. You still don’t sound that great Michael so just take it easy for a few days more. Love to listen to your videos because of the info that you give out. For me as a Brit stuck here in the U.K. for the most gloomy months makes me want to come back to Costa Rica even more. Let’s hope for everyone that 2022 will finally be a better year.

Happy New Year Michael I'm glad you feel much better , I haven't confirm anything yet with the travel agency you referred me to if I remember right her name was Vinity or Vinita I thought I will be able to arrange something with her between January to March of this year for my first travel there in Costa Rica to check first if it is a destination for me and my wife to stay during the winter season here in Canada . I am still definitely very much interested with Costa Rica I just have really to make my plans very well due to the up and down development of this stubborn virus the first time I inquired to you about Costa Rica that was only two or three months ago we've never heard of omicron yet , anyway I continue to wish you all the best and stay healthy .

Yeah I got omicron from my kid when he came back from university in New York. Ministerio de salud had us quarantine right away. The wife and other kid went to live with suegra. Luckily the only side affects that we had were a little lethargic and a little aggressive behavior.

Glad you are on the mend. You and millions of Americans have had and will have this variant. At least you are going to have some immunity now. Too many people not vaccinated. I had Omicron and never knew it. No symptoms because I had 3 doses of Pfizer. Took an antigen test before flying to Hawaii and tested positive. I know some will say it is a cold and no big deal, well it could be, and in my case it was not any deal of any kind.

A test would be a good idea to see if it is Covid and not just a cold. Then you would know if it is necessary to quarantine so you do not spread it to others.

Unvaxed and elderly and unhealthy for the greatest part. If you are unvaxed but young and healthy your chances of being hospitalized or dying from Alpha or Delta are at worst 1 in 1000. At age 55 if otherwise healthy chances are about 1 in 500 of dying from Allpha or Delta. Once you hit 70 and healthy, eating a healthy diet about 1 in 100. This is from numerous epidemiological studies. Omicron is looking to be highly survivable in everyone but the very ill and very aged unvaxed.

@@bevh4408 Lol. Just following along with his videos and comments.. I think as many times as Michael has had wild Covid-19 rather than the vaccines he's suffered plenty for his immunity. I believe each time has gotten Covid was before he could get the vaccine because he got Alpha before the vaccine was available then the waiting period after getting Covid and being vaccinated is at least 6 months. I know someone who had Covid about the same time as Michael and got vaccinated August and had a terrible reaction to the vaccine vaccine.
