I just bought one after. I did the math on buying the iron Hardware plus paint. It would cost me more to build it myself.

Hi, thanks for watching and your comment. I’m not positive about crush sleeves, sorry. The crane has been working great. We have used it on a bunch of small projects. It is a strong secure overhead lifting or anchor point. It is wide and tall enough to drive under with our vehicles so doesn’t keep the bay from being tied up when the crane is not in use. You could do it yourself if you had an overhead anchor and a rope and pulley system but it wouldn’t be fun or very safe probably. Best bet would be lots of people if no lifting tools. Thanks for watching and your comment, have a great day and be safe!

I'm thinking I'll need to weld together a couple simple 90-degree brackets to bold in-place of (one of the) support rods on each side. With one bracket on each side, I should be able to provide temporary stability between the beams with a 2x4. Bolt the 2x4 to my temp brackets. That would hold the sides upright long enough for me and another person, using small a-frame ladders to install the beam on the top. Once the beam is in place, we could remove the brackets, and finish the rest of the install normally. That's the only real hurdle I'm seeing in assembly here.... It will require a second person, but I think it is doable.

It says it has a lift capacity of 148”. I think depending on the truck maybe. Also if you took the wheels off and put it on jack stands closer to the ground might give you a few more inches. Thanks for watching and your question, have a great day and be safe!
