Yes, the was a few times I pulled out away slight to make sure I was still on my mark. I should have stopped the saw before doing that or figured out another way to mark it so I could keep the saw right up against the piece.
Hmmm. Ya, these are really nice saws for metal working. I have a large DeWalt with 20 V-Max , and the compact and sub compact Milwaukee's in 12 volt. The Subcompact from Milwaukee is too light and underpowered. The other two are great. I couldn't live without them. I'll tell you what the greatest is though, my Evolution metal cutting chop saw. Fantastic. Thanks for the review.
These are primarily used for metal but they work great for materials like PVC too. If you had a wood cutting blade, technically it could work for that too, but there are much better tools available for cutting wood.
I cut knife handle blanks with mine set vertical in the HF stand. Works great. Just need a wood cutting blade. Metal cutting blades will burn the wood much easier.
