One option could be to use stainless steel brackets - there were some affordable options on Amazon and other sources. Some also had slotted channels which might avoid drilling. Fun project-nice looking results!
How are they holding up ? I installed 6 Rock lights on my 5th T4R also but couple days after the install I keep blowing a fuse in my 6 Gang switch panel. Now I’m back at square one to find the problem. Any ideas ?

The assorted pack might not be ideal if you only need one size but I am not sure what you need haha. I just know ordering the single size packs is enough for like 10 vehicles haha. Hope that helps! Did you tally the total amperage withdrawal from all of the lights combined, as far as relay amperage/voltage compatibility/fuse ratings 🤷🤔.... This switch pro device you speak of.... Does it take the necessary load off of your battery without affecting your premier alternator charging capabilities 🤷🤔🏃👈👀👀👀👀🤔..... Did you upgrade your existing alternator to a more hi-po version 🤷🏃👈👀🤔..... They’re meant to be replaceable if you did need to slide on a rock. Just snip the wire, scrape the damaged led strip and replace with new one. I haven’t needed to do that for 5+ years though and they still light up the entire perimeter of my FJ Cruiser.
@@OverlandEngineer not familiar with jdm, but yes I’ve heard it referred to as underglow. The difference between the strips and the individual lights is similar to difference between floods and spots. The strips act like floods; traditional rock lights are more like spots. And spots aren’t as effective for this type of application imo.
Hey curious. About to purchase some rock lights. Can you have these rock lights turn on when you unlock/open your car doors? IF so, did you have to tap into the dome light? or can you set this up with the switch pro?
I am still trying to do this...Trail4R has a writeup on it but my circuits seem to be different. I am not sure. In theory a trigger wire should take car of the switch pros integration to the dome light circuit but the problem I believe is the dome light is fed with a grounding switch so the power leading up to the light already has power and the switch is on the grounding side...if I remember correctly so its basically always triggering to hook into the dome light. Its a whole rabbit hole and I don't have a perfect answer yet.
@@OverlandEngineer no worries, just figured I'd ask. Would really like to figure this one out as well. Forgot where I saw it but basically kind of what you said,, they tap into the dome light. So when you walk up to the car / unlock / open door, it triggers it on.
