I just picked one up this past weekend at the Parking lot sale for $629.99. I have run all modes so far. The MIG works great. The TIG runs good too. The scratch start is not hard at all if you have some experience with stick welding. As some have said on various RU-vid videos, if you have any oxyacetylene welding experience, that transfers directly over to TIG. It’s the same principle, heat source and adding filler wire. The stick mode is simply stick mode. I have used a Lincoln 225 buzzbox for years, so this was pretty much like the Lincoln. All in all, I love the Titanium 200 welder. Great home hobbyist/DIY welder,.

It's called duel voltage the machine is multy process if you never welded before how do you know how the drive rollers are built in them i would think plastic has no place in a welder

Well I am hoping for a large number of people to view my videos, but it hasn't been up long, but I defiantly have many more videos that I will be sharing, with this machine. I will also have other unboxing, reviews, and projects. I am going to have a new video coming out early next week! Thanks for watching, and commenting!

You do not need teflon tape for those style fittings, its the seat that seals not the threads.

I just bought this same welder and i lost the flux/mig wire it came with. I bought a giant spool of .035 and dont have gas yet. Out to the dumpster i go to check and see if they are in there. Great welder though i agree its packaged well. My first thought was its very small and compact! Looks sharp as hell and im impressed with the overall build quality for the price. Im running mine off 120v for now with a predator 8750 watt

Good job, keep at it and I bet you will get really nice looking welds.

I was going to make same comment on Teflon tape both hose and gauge connection have a tapered fitting and do not need Teflon to seal. I also just bought a Titanium 200 but not used it yet . So keep making videos of the learning curve on the different types of welding with this machine

Yeah I have since decided to take it off, just in case there is a small piece to come off and go down into machine. I plan to make more videos in the near future with some more mig projects and am currently looking to source an argon tank to start down the tig side of things very soon! Thanks for the comments, and thanks for watching!

Agreed, Welding fittings don’t need Teflon... they are flared and create a seal on there own

I too am a proud owner of this HF welder and I am quite happy with it as well. So did you ever learn to tig weld and do your stainless brewery project? I am concentrating on my stick skills as I Already have a good deal of experience with MIG, and coming from frustrations of an old Lincoln buzz box , I find this machine is a dream to use for stick welding.

I just picked one up instead of spending 600 for a 2 day class I will have my own welder for the same clost of the class ha

That's awesome! I do think classes are a great idea if you want to learn the finer points of welding, there are so many resources now a days to learn stuff on our own. Thats exactly what I did and so glad I did. Fun machine! You're going to love it. I am in the process of making a few fun projects so keep an eye out for those videos! thanks for watching, and the comment! Cheers!

Besides the fact that you don’t need the Teflon tape on those threads, aren’t you using the wrong type of tape for that kind of application? Would you not need the yellow Teflon tape made for gases?

Hello Thank you to post this this video. I bought this machine to learn how to weld. I would like to know if I can use Gas Argon in this machine to weld on Mic and Tig.I used to weld with Mig without Argon and I was using C02 combination.
@charlescooperderose8872
@charlescooperderose8872 4 года назад
Ricardo Aguilar of course you can use Argon. You said you welded without Argon and used a co2 combination? What does that mean? If you used a co2 combination then it seems to me you used Argon and co2, what else gas is used in combination with co2? I’m a bit confused about your question.

Hey Theodore, I thank you for this comment! I actually don't see anything about not using teflon tape in the instructions, but I had read in a few posts that it is not necessary (Some say not to use it all) (Some say to use it but to be careful) I was afraid of losing all that expensive shielding gas!!! What I understand from it, the issue is nothing more than the concern that the teflon could break off, head down the air hose, and get stuck somewhere in the welder which obviously would be no good. I used very little on my connections ensuring that it would not have a chance to do that, but It is a great point you have made. I should have mentioned that in the video a bit better. Do you have a reference to the directions where it says not to? Im either missing it, or we have different directions (Which honestly isn't to uncommon with Harbor Freight Products) thanks for watching!!!

I’m not a welder but watched enough videos to make me a pro (in my mind). Besides the teflon tape being something you don’t want to do, after you’re done with tacking it, you should not use the magnetic holder as the heat from the welding gone will get rid of the magnetism. Are you still using the 200 and are you happy with it? I picked up the 170 Titanium but am seriously considering returning it unopened to upgrade to the 200. It would be another $300+ to upgrade just to get the stick and Tig options. Any thoughts?

Good info on the magnet, I learn something new everyday! I love the 200, just went through my first tank of gas and it’s been flawless. Still need to get an argon tank for the tig, but am beyond pleased. I think it’s worth the cash just for the extra power, and for the fact of getting the two other options. I will be doing some stick welding at our cottage soon which is a nice feature to have when you need it. Good luck with your decision, and thanks for watching. Cheers!

What shielding gas and what proportions did you use? (Also, you have a slight resemblance to Gordon Ramsay. Kinda cool 😎)

You don't put Teflon Tape on any Welding bottles or hoses, they are soft tapered brass fittings just gently snug them up, Read Your Instructions or watch Weld.com or weldingtipsandtricks.com, you can learn a lot by watching them, they have been welding for 20 too over 30 years, I have been a hobby welder over 17 years, Jason or Jody can teach you the basics too Mig, Tig and Stick Welding. Jody has a online Welding Store Weldmonger.com check it out.
