Haha. First, thank you! Second, I drove that thing across the country with those fenders. I didn’t noticed but I’m sure if I had a dollar for every chuckle I cause someone on the road I’d be a rich man. I definitely plan to build proper fenders, I just really thought it would be funny to reuse the originals 😂 thanks again for the comment!

@@ThinkFreely2012 Oh!! Haha sorry I forgot that was in there. That’s coal mine canyon near Tuba City. It’s pretty unregulated and relies on the honor system to make sure people and and close the gates when they enter and leave. It can be tricky to find, but you can look up directions online.

I don’t have much of anything left from that one. All I have is the block and heads, which have been sitting outside waiting for a silly diy project to be used for.

Lol so I’m not pro builder, just skilled enough to cause some trouble. I realize, in hindsight, that a lot of the welds could have been shorter and farther between. I definitely went a lot overboard, but hey the darn thing is strong 😅 Thanks for watching, and for the comment!

I don’t know exactly cause I haven’t weighed it. But I used to tow the Basecamp Tribe Trailer a lot and I can tell mine pulls up hills much easier with the 4Runner. If I remember right the basecamp tribe trailer was around 1,500 lbs fully loaded. I’m guessing mine is around 1,000 lbs

@@dillansgarage thank you for your prompt reply. I have a Rav4, towing capacity is only 2000 lbs. I'm thinking about buying a that same Harbor Freight trailer and customizing it to my needs. But I am limited by my skills, tools and place to do a build. Would like to be able to enclose it.

@@lauravictorious4670 if you have someone who can weld I recommend starting from scratch. You can “easily” make something out of wood on that trailer though. The weakest link would be the axle and suspension. It’s not very robust. I’m always encouraging of buying tool and learning new skills. Happy to help in any way. I didn’t keep track of every receipt, but I was somewhere around $2,500

@@dillansgarage with all that steel you got for framing it was only $2500? 🤔

@@PrithwirajGhoshRoy it could’ve been close to $3k. I spent around $1,000 on steel (square tube, sheet, and c-channel), $400 on the trailer, I had a bunch of scrap steel I picked up for under $100. Axle was under $500 but we’ll round up. Wheels and tires I got for under $200. Tent I got used for $200. Then lights, front jack, hitch, wood sheet. That was all probably $200-300. Less than $300 for the unistrut because of the bulk discount. So that’s roughly $2,700-$3,000 with me rounding up. I could have done it cheaper too. Some of the steel I used was much heavier than it needed to be. So next time someone comments asking about cost, I’ll say it’s around $3,000.
