Hope you guys and gals enjoy the run!!! I only did these for fun In no way shape or form is this supposed to be looked at as a serious attempt at a speedrun. It was just me going fast with strats being made on the fly. I went extremely hard on speedruns when RE7 came out and burnt out really fast. I'm' trying to make sure that doesn't happen for RE2 so I'm just taking my time to enjoy the game and having fun with casual play :)
You dont need to speedrun or s+ the game to get platinum on hardcore i dont get it why people do this let alone even make it haha you only need to get s+ on standard or hardcore most people do it on standard not hardcore
I've already beaten the damn game 7 times. This game is modern day masterpiece. I don't know if it will steal my heart like the original re2 and re1 though.
Just got S+ Leon A. Thanks a lot for your help bawk! I've realized I need to improve on baiting Mr. X punches. Also I failed at despawning the licker because I didn't aggro him. Anyways thanks again.
I had troubles with S+ but thanks to your help I made it! I was pausing the game every moment, watched your video, tried to do the same action as you and it worked out! Thank you so much!
G-2 Birkin tip, when he claws the ceiling, stand against the wall to the left of the metal door that he breaks open. He can't touch you there and you can easily shoot his claw. Then when he opens the door you can squeeze past his left side easily.
@@BadrYousef64 depend on skills, i did my S+ in hardcore (leon A) today, took 2 hours. my 3 saves was 1) before getting King and Queen plugs. 2) before G tyrant stage 2, i wish i didn't save here because it was an easy boss, just a flash grenade and spray him with full 200 flamethrower, 1 crane damage and he is done. ((((save when you froze the dispersal cartridge)))) 3) before G tyrant stage 3 the key is to save a lot of recovery items. good luck Azure
I am only going for an S rank so i can get LE 5 infinite ammo machine gun and you can save as many times as needed thank god. I'm not very good at dodging in this game at all.
I thank you soooo much. I know these are no speedrun guides. But they gave me a good route. I'm not really a speedrunner. I just run the RE games fast for the awards. And only because of you I was able to clear Leon A S+ and with Claire it looks good that I clear it as well. Thank you. Good work and the way you talk is also fun to listen to.
They really did to a bloody good job on this remake, The original Resi 2 was by far my favourite resi so this one just brings back so many good memories
Thank you Bawkba for this awesome gameplay. I just followed along to do my hardcore S+ Leon A playthrough. I used the max three saves and died a lot, but managed to get through with an S+ in 1:56 finally. I have seen you speed run some games at the GDQ's and was happy to see this video to help me along. Thanks again!
I'm so happy that it's possible to skip cutscenes in this game. That was one of my main gripes with RE7. That alone makes speedrunning this game so much fun.
I spent whole day following your video and trying to get S+. Died many times but finally did it! I think it's a good guide to do S+ because you don't rush too much, you loot ammos, you play "safe", even if you are lucky! But I have my rocket launcher to have fun with Mr X now! Thanks man!
@@Sifer2 The rogue mode will be a free DLC called The Ghost Survivors. Current speculation has it being a rogue-like randomiser type thing. It likely won't be as random as die hard Resident Evil fans will want, but it's a start.
A randomizer is probably not possible, otherwise we'd have one for RE7. The way RE Engien handles flagging and stuff seems to make it implausible. The "rogue mode" that they're supposed to be adding in some months may fit the bill for a "randomizer" mode, though. Allegedly it's going to be a lot like the original's Extreme Battle mode, but with some roguelite elements added in.
Thanks! This video is super helpful. Any recommendations for best 3 saves to use for a baby like me? Also, if grabbing just a few more items/ammo best places to stock up?
I just finished this run by following along with the video. My three saves were: 1) Before the first Birkin fight, after getting the three medallions in the police station. 2) The save room in the sewers where the chess puzzle is located. 3) The Laboratory room where you pick up the G-Virus sample, right before the final Birkin fight. I heard some people say the last save is best used right before the last boss fight with Super Tyrant, but in my opinion it really isn't worth going that far. I actually think the final Birkin encounter is a tougher fight than Super Tyrant, and you'd be more likely to lose there. Either way, both fights are right next to one another nearing the end of the game. I know you weren't asking me for an opinion, but I hope this helps anyway.
After I watched this. I completed STANDARD only with an S Rank. Time??? 1:44:35 Now, I watched this again so that I can try to unlock the unlimited rocket launcher, and minigun if I'm in the mood. Thanks a bunch man.😊😊
Bawkbasoup I have an answer to your question as to whether you can get berkin with one button press, don’t know if someone else answered it yet but I did manage to do it with 48 left in the flamethrower. Lemme know if you want to see the footage, it’s on my Xbox captures
I have a guide for a Claire B grab everything run that is S rank (I save after the end of each clip, and I try to keep them at 10 minutes). The route + commentary will help you get every item the game gives you, while still managing to get the S rank. After watching mustadio speed run hardcore claire, I realized that my guide would help for that, because I show you how to save time with different options, how to save ammo by skipping things I engage, and the strats I have learned from the World Record Claire B Hardcore Speed Run. i.e. killing the 2 officers that follow you into the weapons storage roon with the 2 flame rounds you pick up. (I understand this is the Leon playthrough - I haven't worked on his run yet - going for S+ hardcore Claire B first while the run is fresh and mostly automatic. Basically though - people can clear each run in roughly an hour. So that gives you 1 1/2 hours to play how you want. i.e. going out of the way to snag items to have on hand, minor backtracking while enemies are out of the way (i.e. Mr. X); etc. I managed to watch every cinematic from the sewers on and still get a sub 2hour claire B run. I also pick up EVERYTHING, up to middle sewers because I was no longer recording and focusing on finishing for Hunk and to free up memory space for hardcore play. TL:DR = SPOILER; After the parking garage card, you can b-line it to anything in the police station you left behind easy. It's definitely possible to kite Mr. X and get the magnum from the STARS locker, while he is chasing you. I believe it is quicker and it is definitely cheaper to do a quick swoop from the garage to the weapons locker for the extra pack (code 203) if you want that; and from there you can swoop up to floor 2 for the magnum. It adds about 5~ minutes. Like I mentioned - I like watching speed runs to get an estimate for when I can finish (+10 minutes) and then know how much I can veer off the path for fun, for OCD, for collecting! Foresight and planning combined with conservation are the keys to the game. hope this helped ! : )
Nice run! Whats the difference between the different runs? Like Leon A, Leon B, Claire A and Claire B. Is it worth playing through all or is it just the same thing but with diffrerent character?
I’ve just started watching you and it’s amazing how nimble you are in the game. I’ve tried hardcore ambit I can never do it or finish it, because I can conserve enough ammo and heals and rngesus is never in my side
I put your video in front of me as a guide while I am playing .I beat the game in 2:27:33 I got S . Didn’t got S+ ..but it is ok .coz I only have hand gun infinite ammo . I wanted to get the LE 5 ...thank you so much .now I can beat it as fast as I can .
... im so salty right now.... I followed your awesome video but saved at 3 different parts because I'm not that good. I died twice at sewers then completed the game. Only to find out that the timer didn't reset when I loaded a save and beat it in 2 hours and 46 minutes. I need a dam hug.
Any advices on where to save exactly? I did my run perfectly on Leon A Hardcore up till sewers...... man those 3 G-Adults..................... *le sigh*
Save before whichever G battle boss. You can save before the one with the crane, or skip him since he's easy and save before 2nd boss. Lastly; use the last save for the last boss if you desire
9:10 your strategy is awesome btw you can combine items faster by using the square button on ps4 so whatever key you bound that button to. Your strats helped me beat claire and now I'm working on leon my favorite character
I did Claire A hardcore with an S+ rank today and I gotta day the knife is still very useful against the first and 4th birkin fight. Haven’t done Leon Hardcore yet
Thanks bawkbasoup for everything I had to use my three saves for Claire side of the story but I managed to beat the game s+ under 2:30 hours my record time is 2:10
How did you get the resident evil 2 songs playing in the background ?? I beat the game on normal a few times, tried hard and died. I want to unlock infinite weapons damn
Finished my HC run yesterday in 2.40 only to realize I needed 2.30 for rank S. I cried. No submachine gun:(. Not even dreaming of S+, I'm not that stubborn:)
Awesome video! Using it for my run. So far I’m at my first save right past the alligator at exactly 1 hour, with decent inventory and ammo. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll finish the rest!
Not sure what I did wrong, following your steps other then the back tracking. And at this point your time vs mine is 48:48mins - 1:50:18? How the hell is that? Are PC and console time slight differently?
Yo Bawk thanks for the run and nice job! I've been looking for some hardcore runs to follow that are a bit more efficient and not just about speed, and this was the one. However I am still using my 3 saves, each before the birkin bosses, I felt those were the best spots and I'm mainly using this to get strong times before each save. Also, are you using the high FPS knife strat? It kinda sounds like it with the slashes but I'm not too sure, also you only brought one knife and used it for a counter so It'd be appreciated if you could confirm (I'm on PS4 so I can't do it) Thanks a lot!
Did you channel and twitch get a burst of views with RE2make ? Because I'd say they should have. Found you during my hype phase for the remake a few weeks back and now that I've finished it I can watch your content, really loving it. Cheers!
1:24:57 I went to pick up the trophy thinking they were shotgun shells. Died. Last save : Start of the sewers....FML. How do you always seem to stay so calm during this?? :(
I usually do the first save before G1, the second save in the sewer control room (either before getting the chess plugs, or just before G2, and the last save before G3. Try reserving your saves before areas you consider the most risky. I hope this helps.
I'm doing Leon A rn. I wasn't in a hurry, I was just playing around with my infinite handgun, now I'm in the lab and I've realized that if I wouldn't waste my time, I would get S rank without any trouble. But I have less than 30 minutes and I think I won't make it haha. Anyway, here I am, checking if it's possible. I have two bosses to beat and I need to do it asap lol.
I know you can't use any of the infinite ammo guns to get an s+ rating but I also heard you can only save three times max in the two and a half hours you have to complete the campaign. Is the saving part true? Because that sounds kind of ridiculous
True that, Mike. Ironically, the knife is more effective taking a licker down than with a handgun. However, it's not without it's risks. You have to hit them fast and hard before they can counter you. Still, it's good the knife is a useful weapon in this game compared to the original.
I’m struggling to get my S+ on any scenario or difficulty. I’m a casual gamer with a capital C so no real surprise. A huge fan of RE2 since playing the original back in the day I’m generally impressed with the remake
Great run, man. Why not grab the muzzle brake for the vp70 while you were going through the waiting room, though? You can get the extended mag and muzzle brake super early, which helps with zombies. I guess it wouldn't have made a huge difference, though.
PC users can manipulate their FPS settings so they can speed up their knife slashing to cheese their way through, primarily for the 1st G boss But ngl, PC users who Hardcore it bc they use their PC settings to their advantage when console users cant aint all that
@@Sumblueguy41 thx for that info. i did use 3 knife against the first boss G and manage to get away with only using 1 first aid. i am regretting not buying this on the PC.
@shadowdragoon6 its easier to maneuver on PC. Think about trying to walk a straight line with an analog stick, it will most likely be shakey and move slightly left or right because of the stick, on PC however you can press one button to move forward and they move in a perfect straight line
The comments about console being easier are total BS; they're saying everyone on PC plays with a keyboard and mouse, so you know they don't have a fucking clue what they're talking about. And same for me Dustin, I'm on PC and jukin' him isn't so easy. But all that stuff about "console games are harder than PC" is 100% BS imagined by people who don't even game on PC.
And FYI Xbox and PS4 allows you to play your games with keyboard and mouse, further making the claim of "consoles harder than PC" demonstrably false. If you don't game on PC, that's fine, but blow out all your preconceived notions out of your ass. I game on PC primarily _with a controller pad,_ so get the fuck out of here with that "mouse is easier" crap. WASD keys are a fucking pain; clucky; noticed how you guys ignore that and just focus on the turning and aiming with the mouse; again, if you don't game with a keyboard and mouse, then why do you assume it's easier? I know several guys who can punt competitors with keys and mouse using a mere controller with the sensitivity dialed all the way up to the highest level, and they'll will still dominate CoD and CS:GO, and any twitch shooter you can name.
In the kennel, kill the 3 dogs in the cages first, before turning on the power. In the generator room, you would have had a clear path out of the door to the door, and less hassles backtracking through the kennels and basement hallways.
here's a random ? why does wesker have a 9 volt battery on his desk? and why is it there several months after his death "we leave his office just as he left it that fateful night" lol i think it would have been fitting in the storage room (where you get the shotty, in one of those lockers) and like one of the hip pouches or something on his desk
also the final fight, "flame thrower will stop him" Tyrant still coming at you, "oh shit now he's on fire and still coming" XD lol fire just makes tyrant that much more threatening and awesome, i love it
People with your skill, confidence and income make me want to hang myself in a closet with a belt. Unlocking the infinite launcher, even with you can carci's guides, has been nothing but an uphill clusterfuck for me.
This is late and I have no idea but it might have to do with fairness as knife damage is tied to FPS, so someone with a better computer would have an advantage (pay to win)
