I've seen a lot of old American movies where guys nickname their girlfriends "Kid", like The Thing used to call Alicia 'Kid' a lot in old issues of Fantastic Four. Maybe that was a thing in Germany as well, back then. It's a little weird, but no weirder then calling your lover "babe" or ''baby".
It's quite interesting how Toho presumably made an English export script but didn't do an English export dub back in the day like they did for Mamo. Really makes you wonder a Frontier dub of this movie would've been like.
In my language there is only one dub for the movie (only this and Gold of Babylon got dubbed) and I'm glad that stayed true to the original acript regarding the ending. No overromanticazed scene just the farewell
Hi, Sumirenko. This is unrelated to the video, but is there any way I can reach you other than the Lupin III Fanclub? I can't remember my login and I'm not getting the reset emails.
Idk much about german dubs (especially ones from the 80s), but for an 80s german dub, hardyman does have a decently good dub (despite all of the okayish jokes that are in the dub). Also, what is with the german dubs of lupin and making the characters both unintentionally and intentionally gay?
I'm not a huge fan of the 80s cast but I think hardyman and ed scott weren't bad And german boomer humor is always bad trust me (I wanted to show more unfunny scenes but bc of TMS I'm too scared to upload longer videos)
