One of the best eps in recent memory, I really enjoyed the mix of bits and sincere discussion. This is just another example of why Rick is the best in the podcast game.
@@RandyJM21 I couldn’t disagree more. I think one of the best and most unique parts of this pod is that Rick has people on that he does not know and he doesn’t compromise his brand of comedy because of that. I’m guessing you didn’t enjoy the Bobby Kelly ep, but in my opinion watching Rick find his pocket is just as good as when he’s in the pocket. Also I think Rick is way too hard on himself when he feel slightly insecure.
@@RandyJM21 while I respect your opinion, you’re way off on this one haha this ep was wonderful!! I love seeing Ricky be uncomfortable when he doesn’t know someone and he wins them over every single time. He’s a goddamn genius and Harland was an absolute delight.
Harland is easily one of the best comedic minds ever. His effortless ability to just make shit up on the fly and say things so deadpan and seriously is unmatched.
The arc of this episode is really something. Rick tried to match his silliness right off the bat but couldn't quite find the pocket. He settled back a little and went to the questions. Right at the mid point he was honest about not knowing quite how to riff with Harland in the beginning, which spurred a really beautiful moment between the two. Rick stuck to the questions and at some point realized the best way to counter Harland's incessant silliness is to play it a little more straight, and just get to know him better. Through a series of thoughtful questions Rick honed in on what really gets Harland excited, and that's movies. By the end Harland was completely sincere and telling us interesting stories and anecdotes from the movie sets he's been on. Harland is my all time favorite podcast guest on Tigerbelly and its because of his silliness. This is just from my viewpoint, but I wrote this to highlight how thoughtful rick's interviewing style really is. He makes it look seamless, but the adjustments he made in finding Harland's sincerity switch really are noteworthy. Underrated moment Harland: Lost my virginity in the back of the theater to that movie. Rick: Swear Harland: Fuck off
Harlands Tigerbelly episode was one of my favourites also. The line “the first book I wrote was called Inchworms: Why Are They Two Inches Long?” Is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard
Great analysis. Rick is so good at adjusting his energy to the guest's. He almost never fails. PS: I haven't fan-boyed over a comedian like this in a long time. I've been commenting on virtually every single one of his videos. And boy, are my fingers tired.
The innocuous moment of Harland resting his arms on his legs and the clanging sound effect played I was I fits of laughter, absolutely brilliant making even the smallest moments can still be a bit
Dude I loved how down Hardland was to just go with everything. This episode had me dying. Harland definitely gained a new fan on this little podcast tours he's doing.
This was a beautiful episode. Ricky never misses. It really made me smell and come. The chemistry with Harlan D Williams was perfect. I really hope he takes you up on the offer to come back!
Absolutely INCREDIBLE episode! I've *never* laughed this hard at a comedy podcast and I've consumed 10,000+ hours of comedy pods lol. The meeting of two of my favorite comedic minds. Harland killed it and so did Rick, of course. Love this chemistry!
I love this episode! I loved how well Rick and Harland played off each other. I also agree with Harland on how well Rick started the pod even though Rick didn't agree with him. I loved the transitions going from silly to actual conversations to get to know Harland. Great job Rick!
This podcast absolutely made my day and made me so happy… sorry, ALLOWED me to be happy! I love Harland and have seen him perform stand up twice, and he’s an improv master, so I knew this would be a great episode! A stoned pod with Adam Ray as well would be fantastic!!
What an abstract comedic duo!!! I love how you both just come out with the most random things, but keep the conversation flowing like all is normal here kids..lol.
One of my favorite episodes to date. Harland always comes off as genuine; even in his humor. Will go as far and say this is my favorite Ep now that I saw it all. Hope many more come with both of you.
1:32:09 you can tell how similar their comedic styles are in this exact moment 😭 I feel Rick knew exactly how he would respond to ‘swear’ and he loved that Harland used the same device
Sheeeesh I stumbled onto Glass a week ago and have been absolutely binging/evangelizing since. Just got to this one and wow what a gd delight. Definitely favorite so far. These two are different but 100% kindred spirits. Both danced with each other on the line of 'totally joking but completely serious' throughout the episode - but even within specific interactions. Both were visibly unsure at times, yet totally comfortable letting the intended interpretation of statements/jokes/bits go unknown. Those moments are why this podcast is so interesting. And this epi had a ton of them. Harland gets it.
This was such a hilarious and really High quality episode.(great bits) ...I know Rick is absolutely satisfied as well. Kept Harland on his Toes, Boy! Played well together! LOVED IT, A+
Great pod! Always loved Harland in everything I’ve seen him in. Cool to see he’s even better in person. I also liked to see Rick find the pocket with him. I was cracking up the whole time. The Dumb and Dumber stories were awesome too! 👏👏👏
Omg that will book rock slap is so well done and genius way to speak on it with out. Man now you have to Release part one because you’ll probably never get part two
Was out of the room when it happened, but I heard the slap. I was surprised Goblins were already harassing the guest 😄 rewound it and almost woke up my BF because I scream laughed 😂
Really enjoyed this episode! From the beginning with the auntie-uncle bit about the headphones to Harland whispering in the mic with Rick off camera, I was loving it! Hoping the Glassman-Williams-Ray episode comes together, what a fun time it would be!
This podcast truly makes me so happy. This is one of the few I look forward to every week and watch as soon it's released ❤ I hope it never stops... Harland was also amazing. You two are gold together!
I’ve been hoping Harland would be on TYSO for so long! Didn’t think it would ever happen but here it is! Harland is such a unique individual. Loved this episode so much. I knew the chemistry would be insane. One of the first episodes I thought “I absolutely have to see this one on RU-vid” (I listen via iTunes typically).
This was such a beautiful episode, they had chemistry so fast. I’ve noticed every time I see Harland on a podcast he just goes for the silly, and I love that.
Canada represent! Unsolicited RU-vid note: Consider putting the links to your ticket / merch / other moneymakers in the top 3 lines of your description box (above the fold), and your real episode description below the fold. RU-vidrs say they get way more clicks on their important links with this switch. Wanna see TYSO make all the bank it can and keep that animation budget high!
It’s amazing to see Rick be beaten at improv and then be taught so many amazing lessons. I’ve become such a big fan of Rick. This is an amazing episode so far. Thank you for producing this. You’re very talented and I am learning so much.
Harland was one of the first standup comics I ever remember being aware of along with Norm Macdonald. I remember him doing a bit about plastic surgery saying he had his chin removed and his ears enlarged. I don't remember how old I was at the time, but god did that kill me.
I’ve been binge watching all your episodes starting from the beginning and I accidentally skipped this one. So glad I came across it cause all the awkwardness in the episode made me laugh harder than ever, and boy are my arms tired!
Thank you. I’m new, saw the recent Will Sasso episode, was smart enough to click on Harland “that’s what I call forplay” Williams….. I’m now subbed and will spend the next week educating myself on your art.
I have seen bits and pieces of this podcast before but I'm really fed up with the same la comedians talking about comedy on eachothers Podcasts but this was freaking awesome! The chemistry between you to was insanely good
Fuck right off Rick, that beginning was hilarious, right up my comedy alley!!!! Hasn't sunk all the way in yet, but I think my favorite TYSO so far. Thanks : )
only 16:30 in this and already dead. Also, this is consistently the best edited podcast in the game. Sidenote: Ricks appearance on The Harland Highway is brilliant. These two fellas are top notch together
Harland was my first stand up show and I continue to go to his shows everytime he is in town. Gonna sell my tesla so I could afford one of his shirts too.
