Harley Benton (Joyo) Dyna Compressor Pedal Demo 

this pedal is just fine. it does what its advertised to do. You have to know what sound you're trying to achieve and how to use the features ot achieve it. as with any pedal. its actually worth three times the price you can pay for one. Unless you're going for a $200 price range pedal, or whatever that converts to in Euro or pounds, this is a great pedal for piecing together a 5 or 6 pedal board where budget for best quality is the goal.

EytschPi42, I think your videos and rewiews are great. I watched your videos and believed you, so I got my self Joyo American sound, Joyo vintage overdrive, Joyo ultimate drive, Joyo analog delay and Biyang baby boom tri reverb (because joyo does not have a reverb pedal), and I made myself a great pedal board. All I can say is that I only watched your videos and when I got the pedals I was not dissapionted at all, they were great, and they sounded exactly as you showed them. I played bass for 6 years, and now I play a guitar for 2 years, and I have gigs. so I wanted a great sounding pedalboard for funny money. Some of the old school guitarists have seen my pedalboard and maked jokes on it, they look at it like it is some toy for children, and after a gig they came and looked at it again and started to ask questins about it like it is a serious piece of gear. In your face! :) For the money this pedals are true treasure, my bandmate gutarist is old school too, he has a pedalborad made of pedals of T-rex, t.c. electronics, mxr... he told me not to buy this shit, but I did, and now he says:" dude you have a great sound, I was wrong, these pedals are not bad at all!" So thank you EytschPi42 for your videos and rewiews, they helped me a lot!!! By the way, I play Fujigen JST-5R SSH on friends customed Vox tube amp. I am working on my own amp, it is more like a active cabinet so that it will only true amplify my pedalboard because Joyo American sound is actualy a preamp, and It sounds lovely!!! Btw, I am not payed by anyone so dont have wrong thoughts. It is real!!! ;)

I just got this pedal the other day. I got it mainly so I can get into "finger tapping" progressions. I've only used it a couple of times and so far it's alright. At some point I thought the ATTACK knob did not do anything but then after turning knobs for awhile I realized that if both the Sustain and Level knobs are turned past 12 o'clock AT THE SAME TIME you won't be able to tell much of a difference on turning the ATTACK knob and if you have both knobs all the way turned to the end, forget about the attack knob. This is my first compressor. I'm giving it a try for now and if I decide to get rid of it I'll probably get the BOSS or MXR after that. Still this JOYO Compressor is still a cool pedal. So far so good!!

Got one of these (and the Joyo EQ) today. Love it! Reminds me of my old MXR Dyna-Comp (plus the nice added attack control). The EQ is good too. These are my first Joyo pedals, but I'm very impressed and at $63 for the pair on Amazon, I'll be collecting Joyo pedals. IMO there are no bad pedals, just pedals with limited uses. :)

I can hear the difference for sure. The compressor gives you an even volume and sound across all the notes you play. Without you have more dynamics and the volume difference in your attacks is more variable to how you play. For sure a compressor is very useful for mixing and live and it makes you more audible and gives you an even frequency throughout the mix with less variables.

Thanks. I like that you put the guitar in a mix and the allowed the guitar strings to ring a bit. It would have been nice if you played with the knobs during that time too :-), but it was much better than a lot of demos for compression peddles. The pedal sounds nice.

You are freakin' hilarious, Man. I'm very interested in these Joyo pedals, and there really isn't much on youtube about them, so I very much appreciate what you guys are doing. I'm trying to transition from using digital effects processors, to using stompboxes.

It's not a big noticeable change but you will have more even levels in your volume and playing. You're sound guy will love compressor makes it easier for him to mix your signal.

If you want to get a great lead sound, put a comp in front of your distorted amp. Super sustain!

I am sorry to say that I bought this pedal and gave it back to the shop. We thought it was a single item problem, we tested another one, same result. This pedal does not compress the sound properly, it does not consider "attack" properly, and the only thing it really does is boosting the signal and give a small, very small compression in the mid range when pushed to the limit. This pedal does no noice, indeed, but does nothing else also. It is a total waste of money. Finally at the shop we compared it to the (in)famous Boss CS3 which is not by any mean a masterpiece, but at least does its job somehow. Me and the shop seller agreed upon the fact this pedal does practically nothing. In all RU-vid reviews people struggles to try and show it working, but while comparing clean and "compressed" sound, the truth is that "clean" is more compressed than "compressed by joyo" . An AC Tone pedal by Joyo has a natural compression which is far superior than what you can expect to get out of this pedal, which I was lucky enough to return before it was too late. I am not blaming Joyo: I am very happy with AC Tone, somewhat happy with the Digital Delay and.. and.. I bought the boutique DrJ Aerolite compressor (by Joyo as well). Last time I trusted the reviews on youtube and made a big mistake. This time I tested the Aerolite and wow, does it work!! Yes, it costs twice as much, but nothing to compare with the "scorpion" compressor. The scorpion in this pedal must be passed on, it cannot sting. My strong, absolutely strong advice is that you actually test this pedal before buying and compare it to any other compressor without prejudice. Truth is, you will realize in less than 5 minutes that this pedal does almost nothing.

Your Reviews are Great ! ... But could you do some Bass related reviews with the Joyo, Harley Benton and Donner etc. etc. etc. Pedals to see how some of these pedals work (or not) with Bass Guitar ... Other than that ... Keep doing what you Do !

I replaced my Dyna Compressor with a Dyna Comp. In comparing the two, the Joyo was serviceable as a volume boost, but it didn't actually sound like it was compressing anything. The MXR is so much better. You get better tone, it's much better build quality. Cheap equipment has its uses, but if you've got the money for MXR or Boss, you're gonna get much better quality.

would you choose this one or the behringer compressor/limiter?

From the reviews I've read on amazon, a common complaint was that this pedal doesn't add much sustain. From watching this video, I hear plenty of sustain with the knob turned. I guess it's a subjective thing. Anyway, I just ordered this pedal to see how well this works on bass guitar. Great video!

Hey Henner, do you know how to set up a compressor pedal to help push a tube amp into its 'sweet spot' so you can get that perfect sound but with less volume ?

I used to hate the sound of compression but over time I've started to appreciate how it sounds... It's kind of like floating on a cloud...

Nice review as always and I have a lot of pedals from old ones, vintage, clones and someone I made. Lots of cheap pedals today are really good, so you dont have to buy a pedal for 200-300$ to get a good one. Components in a pedal is really cheap, so with cheap manpower you got a cheap pedal.

I use the non Benton (is there any real difference?) Joyo dyna conpressor pedal and it gives buzz /hum noise when clicked on running through a joyo british (9V battery). Happens even with a 9V battery, so ruling out the joyo power supply. It's fine when running a through clean joyo british. If I turn off the dyna and turn on the british, no noise. Am I just unlucky?

I have electric guitar, and regular speaker, where there isn’t coming out the electric guitar sound. Will this compressor sustainer make a difference ? (Thx)

Thank you guys great demo on the compressor I've been wanting to pick one up you guys can visit me of it that one is nice the joyo compressor sounds really good and you can get it at a reasonable price please send me your personal opinion about the compressor I'm thinking about ordering one are you sure use Line 6 Spider heads that come with all kind of different compressors built into it like the line 4 LINE or 5 which coast will all with 350 different types of sounds eliminating the need for compressors but I have Marshall amplifiers and other amplifiers just to practice instead of the big head 400 watts heads that come pre set up with different types of sounds and compressions but if you want to use it for us more amp I think this will do the job thank you very much for the video please send the feedback if you can I would greatly appreciate it on your personal experience to use it on a regular Marshall amplifier I have been playing music for a really long time and have used different types of compressors excuse any typos era I'm doing this voice activated thank you for the video fellas take care of mate send me your personal opinion about it if you can thank you very much sincerely yours Joseph Velez

i have this pedal but i couldn't find where is the dynamic , only big sound if you joint with distortion and never find excellent sustainer like a jackson phill collen signature

Sehr gut beschrieben, Henning. Ich glaube, dieser Kompressor bekommt nur deshalb oft schlechte Reviews, weil diejenigen nicht wissen, wie man ihn bedient. Vor allem der "Attack"-Knopf für viele offenbar ein Mysterium. Um die Kompression deutlich wahr zunehmen, darf man den eben NICHT ganz nach rechts drehen.

Do you think I could use this pedal just as a limiter? Sometimes I turn a lot of pedals on and in a live rig the overall volume can get too high too soon, I was looking for a cheap way to solve this problem (without a volume pedal). Thanks!

I have had this pedal for a while now, and can't say I'm all that impressed. I use it on a secondary practice board (Boss CS-3 on main board), and it just doesn't get the job done. even worse, it has started to fail on me. My sound will go entirely out until I cut the pedal off and on again. Something is defiantly wrong, but it was so cheap I'm not going to bother sending it back etc.. I'm just going to avoid JoyYo pedals from here on out. I'm sure my issue isn't the norm, but it's enough for me. I've dealt with cheap pedals before, and it's beyond obvious that you get what you pay for. That said, great review!!

Yup, I got one, does nothing really. I'm going to buy a stomp box kit for another type of effect, rip the guts out the Scorpion and fit the kit into the useless shell.....at least that way I'll feel I got something back for the £30 I paid for this! I may even spray paint the box with some lurid paint, put some bizarre decals on it and name it "BallsackCrusher".......then I could sell it on eBay for £300 as some boutique rubbish....maybe I could also advertise it with heavy emphasis on the the type of diodes I use....you know those ones you get in Maplin which have a "warm tone" and cost 45p each..................shoot me.

Actually, this scorpion wouldn't be very venomous... look at the pincers; scorpions with large Lobster-like pincers rely on strength to overpower their prey. Scorpions with very thin scissor-like pincers, such as the African Yellow Fat Tail (worlds most highly venomous scorpion), rely on venom to overpower their prey and are all henceforth highly venomous. 🦂

This pedal is absolutely useless it doesnt do anything.The sound is the same on or off.Maybe it was a dud judging by some of the comments here.You know what all the compressors i have tried strangle your sound whereas your better off not using them.
