i just bought this midi footswitch for my axe fx. incredibly surprised for the price. the only thing i would love to have is to configure the switchers from latching to momentary so it can activate a effect pedal while holding the switcher. other than that, its an incredible gear for the price tag.

I clicked thinking that this might be a great solution for managing a Synergy SYN-2 (4 channels, mute and bypass) plus a MIDI delay in the effects loop. But the single MIDI channel seems like a challenge.

Hi, great video. May I ask if this can work with a TC Electronic G-Major 2? I’m currently using a Beringer FCB1010 and I’m wondering if the MIDI commander is able to control my bank and presets of my G-Major 2.

Can I use this device to do the following. While playing live can I access sounds from my Roland SC55 sound canvas which I have hooked to my guitar synth, Can it be programmed to access assigned sounds that I most commonly use? I presently use a 20+ year old Yamaha rack mount midi events processor plus a midi pedal to call up my sounds. Trying to downsize.

Hi man, thanks for the video. I have one question... it's possible to map via midi 5 pin connection in custom mode this foot controller with akai mpx16 to control its pads? The custom mode allows to assign all note or some of these? For example a pad of akai mpx16 is configured on D5 note, can i choose D5 note on foot controller in custom mode to assign it to a switch? And at last configuration of the custom mode needs to plug the controller to my PC or not? Can i map in stand alone mode plugged with the synth? I'm sorry for my bad english i'll hope you understand me. Thanks!

I'm not very techy, but I've been using straight Amplitube for years. Now I have Amplitube 5, I have the IK Multimedia interface and I have an expression pedal but I guess it won't work without a MIDI controller? If you know please explain what I need to do and if I need something like this midi controller to make it work w/ Amplitube. ? Thanks.

Hi! Thanks for your video. I have a couple of questions I would really appreciate if you could help me with. 1. Is it possible to have the 8 switches working as a CC and not 4 PC and 4 CC? 2. I saw in another video that if you assign one midi function to one footswitch, It will remain changing that parameter if you change the bank. Is this true? That would be really desapointing to me. I hope you can help me with these questions and sorry for my English! Best!

Another great feature, besides the 9V power, would be to have a connection to allow you to switch amp channels per preset.

Just put rechargeable AAA batteries, the switcher is also a battery charger.

Someone needs to make a video on setting up the control functions for the Melo Midi commander with Hughes and Kettner GM40D. Because that would be an awesome video since the head does so much out of the box. And I'm sure this can do more than their stupid oversized controller. The Melo/HB is 11" wide, the H&K is 18" wide. This would be a great pedalboard set up to have (2) mini expression pedals next to each other. Or even a video of it controller a Mooer Preamp Live pedal then I could leave it at the cabinet with a Baby Bomb 30, and just switch all the patches and have effects in front of me or a HX. :)

Does anybody have experience of driving this board into a Yamaha PSR S-670 keyboard that has no MIDI sockets? You need to interface via a Kenton, MIDI/usb interface but it takes a bit of fiddling.

No, the Harley Benton MP100 cannot send Note On messages.

One interesting thing with the batteries, if you put rechargeable in it, it recharge them when plugged on an adapter.

I eventually got it and it works! As a standard (ie out of the box) only the bottom 4 knobs work while the up and down bank buttons on the far right allow you to get to the next set of 4. In other words the 16 available presets on the wizard can be accessed 4 at a time, then you select the next “bank” and you can access 5 to 8 etc etc. I’m gonna try and see if I can program it so that a b c d buttons at the top can be re-assigned as “5 6 7 8”

Like you said Harley Benton just re-branded the MeloAudio Midi Commander, but this doesn't have the firmware update(s), and the packaging/website doesn't have any information about downloading/installing them.

Thanks for this video. I have this same foot controller. I have it connected to my Windows 10 laptop. A couple of questions: 1) Is it possible to start and stop backing tracks in Abelton Live using the footswitches on this unit? 2) Is it possible to send MIDI note data with this footswitch, so I can trigger keyboard notes from a synth VST with the footswitches on this unit?

That product has potencial, but it can be much better just doing a desktop software for full midi customization, because the built in customization menu is so poor.

It only lets you change patches by PC sequentially. I’m trying to jump between non sequential presets on an external effects unit and it doesn’t allow it. You can’t for example program button 2 to send a PC#54 message and button 3 to send out PC#71. To do these changes you have to scroll up thro the banks to get to them sequentially and the whole point of a midi controller is to eliminate tap dancing and make instant changes at the press of a switch. Had to come here to this video to realise that this is a pretty basic controller. It won’t work controlling a guitarists rig.

I wish you would have showed us more in depth on how to program this thing! for example how to program the PCx8 mode - the manual is really not great ! I managed to program the custom mode to CC messages , but every time I try to program a PC message in custom mode it automatically switches back to #CC - The mode for editing PCx8 I can´t even find which is not mentioned in the manual !!!! Thx a lot Harley Benton. Just wanna program this thing to control the presets on my meris Enzo pedal

I found that if you choose 4 or 5 patches for a group some buttons aren't available for pc messages. Just choose 8 per bank and you are good to go. Thx for the quick reply

From what I see, the layout out is awkward to me, the Presets 1-4 should be in the lower row and the Banks A-D on the Upper Row..... but the unit looks cool

I have the MeloAudio Midi Commander which is the exact same product, and that is the only thing I would change about the design. As it is even in the custom modes if you want 4 cc and 4 pc commands the pc commands have to be the bottom row.

@@24avenged24 not if you choose to have 8 patches per group. Then you can assign presets (PC) to all 8 buttons. If you bank up the settings are mirrored for presets 9-16, apparently.

Hahaha yeah, I thought hey, I have that, and then red it's HB 😁 Of course I have the Melo Audio and it works perfectly with Bias FX/FX2 and Neural DSP (if it's supporting real Midi Control, which is the case on Abasi, but I own Nolly, and it has no Midi Mapping function and that sucks). For me as a living room home studio warrior it's a killer and the HB seems to be 1:1 to Melo Audio. Thanks for the video \o/

I have a Midi Commander and at the beginning I had an issue with the expression pedal handling. I wrote them, but they didn't even care to respond. Then I found out it was the incompatibility of my pedal, so I swapped it. Now it works normally - ok loses driver connection sometime I think becasue of power saving of USB, but I just have to turn it off and on. I don't like that in TH-U Overloud I have to go and tick again the TSMIDI2.0 so it could work. Otherwise I love it, nice little toy!

Why not just make your own custom one? You could even add a rocker pedal to control wah... Just saying. And it wouldn't cost more than the labor and a few parts... Microcontrollers are so cheap today.
