Hi Rich great review, most enjoyable. This ST62 looks/sounds ace, nice to see Harley Benton continuing to improve on the "already" fine quality of the ST62. Seems like they have upped the game even further - awesome!!! My Harley Benton DC "LTD" (not DLX) Gotoh was delivered this morning (10 days shipping ouch)- its very impressive for £175, I'm very happy with it. (The black DC DLX model is £244 - cant understand why?) Did you see the new HB JA60 models/colours?.....tasty...... Good times.
10 days 😮. I was getting irritated at the 7 mine took. I got a good though so it was worth the wait. Glad you enjoyed the video too 👍🏻. I fancy a DC at some point and probably the same as yours. What are the pickups like?
@@thenovicenoisemaker I am surprised at how comfortable and balanced the DC model is. The pick ups are the same Tesla's as your SC DLX Gotoh ( Tesla VR-2 AlNiCo 5 humbuckers). The colour "invacar blue" is bonkers, but I like it. I've only had it two hours, the neck and frets feel identical to the SC DLX also(nickel frets not stainless steel I've just noticed) So far, I am very happy with it. I originally wanted to purchase the DC600 - the one with three pickups......ah well next month maybe😊
That thing actually look much better than I thought it would. Colours look really good together.... even the tortoiseshell pickguard look great 👍😍... Thank god the fretboard is nice and dark... whatever wood it is 😁
Hey Rich, great choice, I am very happy for you! I also have a classic vibe, but it was the HB st62 inca silver that got me back into Strats. I gave it to my teacher to try, an experienced, professional musician, and he ordered one without thinking twice.I am even tempted to get the black one too, I mean, 133 euros??? Amazing!!! Looking forward to hear you playing it!
They really are so good aren't they especially if you get a 'good one'. This one is nearly flawless. I'll get a proper set up on it and it'll be all the strat I need after trying Fenders for £600! Thanks for tuning in
@@thenovicenoisemaker I am totally with you. I am also very demanding when it comes to pickup sounds. My HB TE62 didn't sound so good, so I bought a set of Chinese pickups. The St 62 needs nothing apart from a setup. Perfection. Keep it up! (btw, a set vintage Fender Tele pickups costs 80 euros, a Te 62 is 160, so for 240 euros I can have Fender sound with HB , ie better quality... Sounds good to me...).
Hi Rich. I always enjoy your enthusiasm for guitars and watching your videos. I have just re-watched your previous video on the Chapman ML3 Trad in black. I've just bought one based on your review, and because Guitar Guitar had a special deal on at £299 for new stock...not ex-demo or B stock. It's arriving Friday. A friend for my Player strat and Cort Les Paul. 👍🎸 Cheers!
looks great Rich. How longs it staying. my te62 came with caremelised neck and polished frets too. ive been tempted by these but i have my larry carlton strat and a squier affinity from 98 which is my daughters birth year which i might put some new pickups in and wire the bridge pickup to the tone pot.
My TE62 most certainly didn’t have polished frets lol but it was a while ago, maybe it’s a new thing. Your two strats are more than good enough so not sure you’d gain anything new. Hope you’re well and thanks for tuning in Rich
@@thenovicenoisemaker oh and I also remember I put in a Fender Mexico bridge. It's a direct fit and then you have a full size tremolo block. Only costs around 20 pounds ✌️
Nice one Rich, I'm not a strat man personally (sure I've mentioned that before) but had an unplanned new guitar day yesterday! Was in a big out of town shopping place down here in Devon (Trago Mills) looking for bedding but stumbled into their music department and they had a Vintage V100 Reissued in Cherry Sunburst marked at £163 which I thought must be a mistake, but it wasn't. Last one in stock with a small ding on the back of the body and they'd lost the box hence not £350/400, how could I refuse? It's superb! That's eighteen in my collection now, I'm an amateur compared to you except I never sell and so need to build an extension😁😁. Love what you're doing as always, keep it up.
Mike that’s bargain of the century! I’ve had 4 of those guitars and they’re such good guitars. The QC often lets them down but if you got one with no issues you’re laughing! You’re s better man than me keeping them all, I’d need a a big house if I’d kept all 140 of mine lol 😂. Thanks for sticking with me and tuning in again, appreciate it 👍🏻
The red pickguard makes the vintage white colour pop more 😊 if you swap it for a white one the colour will look less saturated. I’m gonna order either the white or black 62 after Xmas. I have a bunch of mods for it already but am excited about putting tonerider city limits pups in there. Can’t decide between a maple or rosewood fretboard though!
If you see my newer videos this guitar got heavily modded inside and out. New pots, capicitor, switch, neck shim, frets levelled, polished and crowned, fret board (these are Indian Laurel rather than rosewood) heavily oiled, tuners oiled, bridge set to float..the works! Also pickguard and bobbins to vintage white. Great guitars as standard but well worth upgrading. Keep me posted on which one you get and what you do to it 👍🏻
Recently i sold 6 guitars to purchase 3 ive always wanted. I picked up lzzy hail explorer bird, les paul standard with a beautiful top and q SG modern blueberry flame maple top. Is there any way to show you a couple pics ? It's an addiction i think lol
Hey rich I love your show watch all the time I need to know how u like the strat cuz I'm gonna get the st62 pink one but I need to know if it's good or not so plz lmk
Thank you Joshua, really appreciate that 😊 I’ve had 6 of these now and they’ve all been good but like any guitar a bit of a set up and better strings helps. If you want to use the trem arm I’d lube the nut and use arm gently. If you’re a gigging musician then maybe you’d want to make some upgrades? Much nice playing snd sounding than a Bullet or Affinity Strat in my opinion. Pickups are quieter with less hun and I think they sound good. Bargain for whet they cost in my opinion and glad I bought another one
Thanks rich for getting back bro like I said I watch all ur vids on u tube your getting alot better on gutiar stick with it I've only been playing for 9 mths I must b a natural cuz everyone says I'm mad good.i was gonna give up so many times but I stuck it out I love it now.anyway love the colors of that strat.and thanks agian for getting back so fast have fun and enjoy ur day ok thanks .josh from the US peace out
@@thenovicenoisemaker I agree. I waited for it a long time but got discouraged when I saw the prices anf the reviews so far are nothing that stellar. I might just ebd up getting the Fusion III HSH with the Wilkinson tremolo and non roastsd neck to savd costs
@Ben-ld1qi it’s a tricky balance at that price point. It’s got great features but there are other guitars used and new with great features too. I like my Chapmans, for the price I’d rather have another ML1 Stabdard hybrid. HSS, dark roasted neck, mahogany body, nice contours , rolled finger board, jumbo frets, graphite nut, 2 point trem and full sized block, flame top. Pick one up for £250-£300. You can see me playing one on my RU-vid channel, The Novice Noise Maker. Or as you say, a Fusion which you can also get used at a great price, they’re good at new prices too
@@thenovicenoisemaker Whao, you can get a ML1 Standard Hybrid for £250-£300 ??? In my region (Israel) the 2nd hand market isn't that great, it's mostly Fenders, and something like a 2nd hand Fender Player Strat HSS (not even the Player Plus) would go for $660 2nd hand and $1000 new in store. That's why for me Harley Benton is still great value. I also don't know enough to be finding a great guitar on the market place. I wish I knew my stuff well enough so I'd know what to look for. The cheapest I could find an ML1 Standard Hybrid going for as $660ish new in store, but it's out of stock, they have now the 'X Standard' model which is $100 more.
