I have had both flatheads and panheads. I can't help, noticing the sound of the flathead running, while the panhead is being kicked over and over again :D Flatheads forever!
I just moved from Phoenix to Maryland last year, got laid off. I still have the old Harley, they couldn't take that away from me. Spent a lot of time with Dave & Ken at Highway Choppers...Great guys over there.
Takky, I love the movies you shot....Great job. I sure wished that I lived over there to ride with you guys. Phoenix Arizona doesn't seem to have any clubs with old Harleys. I may have to move to Maryland for a job so hopefully they have a good club over there.....I sure feel bad for the last guy with the yellow flathead. I'm sure that guy cursed the American's for making a bike that won't start. Tell him to stop flooding the throttle and make sure the bikes in 2nd gear during a push start. : )

To the man on the Pan, Ignition off two kicks then ignition on and kick, Try twice only then if it fails to start go back into the pub and have another beer or you will be pulling plugs or ridding with carboned plugs, When proceeding with the first two kicks do not do it like your trying to start the bike as the purpose is to just send juice to the carbs and to get top dead centre, The third kick is not done till ignition is turned on and then kick a solid one all the way through. Thank God for modern self-start. These public nuisances have damaged enough knee-joints. Right now, I am sitting here on the 4th floor, my right leg stretched out to alleviate the ache. And downstairs sits my beautiful Davidson. Resting, so God help her, until Monday afternoon, when she will carry me to work, thunderously and efficiently.
This was kind of sad to watch. On my flathead it's choke on, kick twice, key on, kick, start and go. I've freaked some people out before by "kick" starting it by using my hand while seated on the bike.
@Merkur87 I could also. retard timing & worn rings prolly 5 to 1 comp. my glide cant even be bump started big comp. & big stroke but its easy to jump start my Dyna don't jump easy can't access hot lead. im done with oil leaks & breakdows F*ck the old shit except to remenise

I never kicked my U that much to start it even in the dead of winter. If she did not crank on two prime and one kick with the switch on I would work on it. -
Abbas Ali Mitza you never owned and old bike have you? You have to prime it first then you kick start it and hope it starts. Some take more kicking then others just like people.
After watching this video reminds me of how lucky I am to have electric start bikes now.after kicking a flat side stroker shovelhead for 22 years in Florida. Sucked..
These bikes were always hard to start bsa Harley’s Indians great machines but hard to start thank god for the starter motor that’s why they were invented

Очевидно же, что она плохая. Мотоцикл то хороший, но вот как-будто его не доделывают всё время. Это какая-то заводская традиция у них там что ли?
