Good Morning 🌅, Yogi’s , That was a great idea to get to starter bolts, I am in the process of changing my belt and all my bearings and seals 🦭,😂 , and I need to change the belt pulls as well, I have just recently purchased this bike a 2003 Softail deuce, it is in not very good condition, the belt has been overtightened, and I’m replacing the bearing and sleeve, on the main shaft with a Jim’s upgrade, bearing kit, Have a big problem. I have to wait for replacement parts from HD. , I live in France and I’ve been told I’ve got to wait anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks, this is not good, France

Dang that’s a bummer but congrats on the bike and have fun working on it and getting to know it. Enjoy and good luck with parts. I was in France last month. If I knew I would have brought them to ya.

@@YogisCycleService Thank you for reply, yes that would of been great, a personal supply of parts, I would of had to have a tidy up, As I live by myself, and I no longer have somebody telling me what to do on when to do it, Stay safe keep up the great work, nothing like a good wrenching to relieve your stress ha ha, France.

I just wanted to let you know that I didn't want to remove the rear tire just for one starter bolt, with the help of a couple flashlights an 3/8 drive swivel and allen socket oh yea and black tape I was able to loosen the seconded starter bolt with out removing the tire, took an extra 5 minutes but felt like it was with it. thanks again for all your videos.

Why is that stator still good ? I have an 06 HSTCI. I have had to change the stator twice. 50k at present. Both times it grounded out and was not charging. But, still no leaks and the belt looks good. I love these tear downs. Looking forward to the rest. Best wishes...

In my opinion it still looked good because I didn’t see any burned windings on it. I suppose the only way to truly test it is by checking the output but visually it appears in pretty decent shape.

I have a video on a nomad engine rebuild coming next and the stator in it looks much different and you can clearly see burned windings so that one will be getting replaced

Nice job on the tear down. Something to mention is when doing starter stuff disconnect the battery. It's so easy to drop or ruin something when you see the arc.

Very true and I thought about that during editing that I forgot to mention it

Man I love this video! It's ASMR for those who like to wrench. You did a great job and looking forward to the next two in the series. Miss piggy is a great looking bike, and I personally enjoy the paint schemes on the 03 100th anniversary Harleys.

yogi, i just changed my inner primary seal and see the i side if the seal says oil side, so i put that flat side to the snap ring and bearing, does that seem correct to you?
