I think Bob might be the coolest guy you’ve ever interviewed. Just listening to him talk about his experiences as he leans against a Harrier. Fantastic.

Detached there with 4 Squadron in '78 and '79. Got a signal one day from the UK, it read, 'What is your snow clearing capability?' Boss sent back, 'What is snow?'

Man, that’s a claustrophobic cockpit! Great stories this guy has to tell.

Lowering the seat gives a bit more space.

@@mothmagic1 it is adjustable? I wonder how much cause this dude looks way too tall for the cockpit, no way he can look through the HUD like that and see all the symbols

Think he may have gotten it wrong about the difference between GR1 and GR3; I thought that difference was the laser nose. But that was a lifetime ago and I was a mere rigger.

“Tape recorder” 🤣🤦🏽 Man we Brits were good engineers back in the Day! This thing makes a Mig-21 look new.

Way off mark in every respect, well done. Back to school for you.

Why didn't they keep developing this tech? Can you imagine of they committed to another 40 years of R&D on the Harrier

It was expensive for what it provided. The Sea Harrier and AV-8B Harrier II cost about the same as an F-16 but, with the obvious exception of V/STOVL capability, were inferior in most other regards.
