idk wtw that is exactly what I also observed in the videos. Niall is almost embracing Harry when he reacts about Zayn. I noticed Niall places his arm behind Harry or gets somehow closer and checks on him to see if he is fine. Niall seems very empathetic when Harry refers to Zayn... I think that is the clue. He is supporting and taking care of Harry throughout the process of adjusting to Zayn's departure. That indicates to me that Harry was truly hurt and affected by Zayn leaving the band... I could not agree more with you....

Part of the reason why Harry made jokes and quickly changed the subject whenever Zayn was brought up might be because if he talked about loosing one of his best friends he’d cry. Even while making jokes he looks and sounds incredibly hurt but is trying not to show it, putting on a fake smile instead of crying.
Zayn was so toxic unhappy that he developed an eating disorder, so that is heart breaking. Who knows if someone / somewhere at the top in charge of these boys might have been trafficking them !! I think that these boys were trafficked to the elite and that there was more going on than music since One Direction was heavily an Illuminati brand. MK Ultra mind control ?? Just my opinion and I love them all. Stuff does not add up here.
YAS someone else thinks the same as me! I always thought I was the only one who thought this, it's not that Harry didn't care, he cared a lot, it's just that he was so hurt he became cold and made bitter jokes to get over it.
I was always under this impression as well, and Louis kind of does the same, but he's maybe more subtle about it. Liam and Niall kind of go with it, but I think it hit them all, it just hit Harry (and Louis) harder, perhaps because they always seemed that much closer to him? But this is Harry, the man who cares far too much about everything and everyone not to have been hurt, and he's the most adorable person when he's being awkward, though it's just heartbreaking when he attempts to avoid discussing how he really feels about this.

umm, it was actually a long time ago. I think, around the fetus days, where 1D facts were new, and that particular one usually came up a lot in fact videos.
Ever since Zayn left, I've felt like Harry was the most affected by him leaving. Even though they all were and still are great friends with each other, Harry seemed to be the most affected. I miss my boys, on the day that Zayn left, I felt a piece of me disappear. But I know I will never know how terrible it would feel like to lose one of your best friends.
@@isha5284 i forgot about this comment lol also i don't think its about maturity. it could be taken that way but if you think about it, liam and niall were just able to hide their emotions better. louis was obviously the closest to zayn and their friendship ended on bad terms, so its reasonable that he were to act bitter about his leaving. with harry, i believe they must have ended on bad terms as well but not like with louis, so he must've felt all the more betrayed since he might've felt he had no fault in zayns departure. idk if that makes sense

They always seemed the most alike. Both were deeply sensitive and artistic. They always seemed very close. There is a saying "we hurt the ones we love the most." Always knew Believed he took it the hardest as he was the closest w/ Zayn and sought Zayn out more than the rest. So I completely agree with this. It would be rational thinking he'd be the most hurt.
How could people think the boys don’t care about Zayn leaving?? If you did everything with your 4 best friends, got to travel the world, live an amazing life, and fulfill your dreams just for one of your friends to go “I hate this and I don’t want to be around you all anymore goodbye and leave me alone.” How would you feel???
It’s not so cut & dry as you made it sound..? There is more to this than we’re privy to know, so I don’t feel that’s a clear definition of what happened. Just my opinion
I think they know but I think they feel like it would have been better for everyone if they talked about it and not Zayn just leaving without any explanation

I feel that the fact that Zayn said that he and Harry never talked must've been so hard to accept for Harry. They were obviously friends and it must've really broken his heart. And I'm really sad that he said that.
harry also to made jokes about it and said that the hardest part of zayn leaving was the paperwork which is obviously a moment of deflection zayn was hurt with everything that happened with the management and the hate he got and when you suffer from a eating disorder you tend to dissociate yourself from all the people and places you were around when it happened which included harry and plus zayn was tired of the constant questions about it so i really think he didn’t say that out of hatred and trying to be rude but more so trying to cope with what was happening
Friends??? Those two were in love some kind of relationship/ situationship and we watched harry go through the stages of grief. If Zayn were to have been brave enough to be with harry regardless of what their management or the world would have thought harry would have been down. Harry was willing to risk it all for this man including his career. When you find love like this nothing else really matters. This is so heartbreaking.

There must be aome other reason that zayn said that and I am not mad at him but I won't agree the "fact" that he and harry were never really close.
Zarry isn't something I ship as a romantic relationship, though there's no denying they had a powerful bromance, but denying how heartbroken Harry was when Zayn left is impossible. He clearly took it the hardest, Louis coming in a close second where it was simply to have Harry's back or not who knows, because whenever he was mentioned, both of them seemed to react strongly whereas Liam and Niall not so much. Maybe it was how sudden it happened, maybe it's how it happened, maybe it's why it happened, and maybe it's also a little bit of resentment that Zayn was in the position to break free of all the negative sides to being in the band, like the management, the relentless work that we later came to realise made Zayn ill. Whatever it was, Harry felt the most strongly about it without a doubt, and it's heartbreaking to see him trying to gloss over it, throw dry humour at it and make things awkward to both avoid discussing the topic and making the interviewers uncomfortable enough to drop the questions. I think it's safe to say it almost always seemed to work, but there's no hiding the emotions on Harry's face all the same, the way he goes quiet and blinky after trying to throw a joke at it in hopes of moving on. I think if he was made to answer, he'd probably break down. We know Liam and Niall made their peace with Zayn early on, and Louis recently, so somewhere along the way, I truly hope Harry did as well.

I totally agree. I always felt like Harry took it the hardest because out of all the boys (granted Louis did have a reason after the twitter beef) Harry just seemed weird anytime they asked a question about Zayn, like he was always the one to say something. I also feel like Harry and Zayn both wanted to leave. Call me crazy but even in his Behind The Album he always needed the feel to justify what he did is nothing compared to Zayn. What I mean about that is he would still throw shade at Zayn when it's not needed. Tbh it happened two years ago but the shade is still being thrown yet he doesn't care? Doesn't add up
WOW! I'm glad I found this video... I've always thought that Harry was hurt the most by Zayn's departure. I can also see it in Zayn when he talk about Harry now. When I saw the interview with Zayn and he said that he and Harry never really talked while they were in 1D together that he was just taking a shot at Harry. You could see it in his face and hear it in his voice that he didn't believe what he was saying. In order for 1D to have a reunion, tour, Harry and Zayn will have to work through their differences. I don't believe there will be a reunion otherwise.
Harry of all the band mates was always the most sensitive to begin with. Zayn leaving had to crack his heart at first. In some of the interviews when the topic of Zayn walking away came up Harry was silent and all you had to do was see the pain in his face and how it resonated in his heart. They were 16/17 yrs old and formed such a tight bond being so young, traveling all over the world. All they really had was one another. Life goes on and Harry Styles is doing what he loves most in life - performing. He is so genuine and incredibly sensitive and a giving human being. I watch the early life of One Direction when it was the five of them and like so many of us want to put my arms around Zayn and say thank you for who you are and all you gave to the band while you were in it. Definitely miss your high notes. Five beautiful souls came together for a while, sailed with the current and without knowing it touched millions of hearts. “And in the end - the love you take…is equal to the love you make.” As true today as when the Beatles sang that all those years ago.
OMG this really hurt to watch, because when I view the clips now I can really see the toll it took on Harry, and how hard it was for him to keep it together. he was genuinely upset but had to hide it for cameras and performances and interviews, all the while trying to deal with the loss of Zayn. so heartbreaking...
I agree, i feel like Harry isn't the type to be mad and bitter often so I think something must have happened with them where they argued or something for Harry to be so publicly shady
I'm with Harry on how the paperwork would hurt. Like having to fill in the documents when a spouse dies, and there are death certificates and a will and having to get bills and subscriptions and everything changed. But Zayn wasn't actually dead, he managed to leave before the lifestyle could quite kill him, so they got none of the care and respect accorded to the bereaved. Having to discuss the situation in lurid detail in interviews over and over again would be gruesome. And those five boys spent more of their waking hours together in their few years in the band together than most married couples do in decades. Thank the gods Louis at least has started mending his bridges with poor Zayn. I hope the rest of them can reconcile soon too.
I have some things to mention here , 1st in a live Zayn was crying and Harry looks like he'll cry now, so that also prove that , 2nd 1:13 Liam looks so sad too, Also after Zayn left the band went on a hiatus , they told 1 year but its been 3 years , also Harry is now so great with his solo, and congratulations to him he got his 1st Grammy, so i think now one direction wont come back, i prayed a lot for this "comeback" , sorry its too long, also have a great day ahead :)
It's pretty hard for Harry because everytime they open up about Zayn's absence, It made him sad and think. Same as the other members but I can really say that Hazza was the most hurted one
I actually kinda disagree with the beginning of this. You said Harry was upset. I think he was hurt. I think they had a fight maybe bc Z was leaving. I definitely don't think he left bc of the fight. Z had legitimate reasons for leaving that I think is hard to not believe. I think Harry was upset and hurt that Z was leaving and maybe he thought it was bc of him. Even if Z tried to explain it. I think they both said stuff they didn't mean. And Z has said that he's reached out to all the boys but Harry. Apparently they never had any contact. But him and all the other boys hang out and talk. He also said him and Harry were never close in the band. They never really talked. I think he said that partially bc he wanted people to stop asking him about Harry, and partially bc he was so hurt by the fight with Harry that he wanted to forget that ever had a relationship. So he down played it. I think Harry realizes what he did wrong. Bc you can see all the times lately that people have brought up Zayn, he has nothing but nice things to say. Before he always joked and tried to change the topic bc I think it was hard for him to talk about. And Zayn never mentions Harry. So I think he's still hurt about everything that's happened. There's a ton of lyrics in Harry's song "From The Dining Table" that show it's about Zayn. I'll only say one though bc It's the most obvious and because I don't want this comment to be super long. So it says his phone misses his calls. Meaning Z never tries to call him and Harry misses when they talked a lot. Like I said before, Z stated that he never tried to contact Harry. So it just makes sense. And I also think that "If I could Fly" was about Zayn. Sorry I'm not gonna give examples bc this comment will be too long. I think that Harry felt like Zayn was leaving him, not the band ¿? Don’t get me wrong but we had seen how close they were (yes, they were really close). Boys said on interviews about how they can’t sleep without each other in the hotel rooms or when they were locked there just making tattoos... They were hurt, maybe still are hurt and I feel so sad about it because Harry was impulsive and Zayn maybe felt betrayed or something like that. And I also think that those songs are about it.
Haimi Shah the song is about missing a distant lover “i’m missing half of me when we’re apart”. this song was written a month after zayn left. larries like to say harry wrote it because louis was in la or something like that which doesn’t really make sense at all because he knew louis was gonna come back where as zayn had already left permanently. harry also says “i think i might give up everything just ask me to” basically saying if zayn asked him to leave the band he would. “and i hope that you don’t run from me” i think this was said because zayn left him and the band and i think harry was scared zayn would leave him for good. there’s a video on it i don’t really know if i’m 100% on this so go watch that please 😭
The way Harry reacted shows that he cared so much about Zayn, it's so beautiful and and heartbreaking to see that Harry reacted like this, the same way we did. It shows that they weren't only a band, but a family
When you really sad about someone, you just wanna avoid everything about them. I don't think it was Zayn's departure that hurt them the most, is the fact that Zayn didn't say a proper goodbye and they were shocked that Zayn didn't even like his time with them

I always thought that Zayn would be the first leaving the band, I remember I tweeted about it in 2013 I think, and none would believe me. After I saw Harry's reaction to his departure, I really think Zayn did something that hurt him so bad that I bet he can't forgive him and you can see that on his face everytime they were asked about Zayn. That's how people react when they trust and love someone so much and that person betrays them :(
