What I love about Peter Buka's piano playing is his clear appreciation for the beauty of the hands. The way he holds his hands - lightly - and moves them gracefully over the keyboard, as if his fingers were ballet dancers, strong, precise, ethereal, all in the moment, reveals a deeply sensitive and intelligent soul. He does not go for the effect (as the famous, virtuosic, but frankly vulgar and leering Liberace used to do) but with a natural, disciplined flow, scattering light through his hands.
