Filmmaker John Walsh unboxes the classic Ray Harryhausen figure the Rhedosaurus from Star Ace Toys from the classic film The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms (1953)
Awesome Harryhausen's Rhedosaurus from Star Ace Toys Ltd! The Final Product is so good! The Sculpt and Paint for Rhedosaurus are very detailed! Must have item for Harryhausen fans! 🙂 Thank you for Amazing unboxing video and review from The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation trustee himself, John Walsh. Packaging Design by me :)
ive been doing my soft vinyl model kit today of the rhedosaurus john and im well pleased with it and the dry brushing ive done will look great when hes all assembled.. please keep the model vinyl kits coming
oh my god yes john if i can add photos of it i will. i have photographed the allosaurus model kit ive done too and gwangi as well which i,ll see if i can send you on here@@WalshBros
OMG ! Its so beautiful ! I'd take the colorized version. Looking at it while you unboxed and assembled it , scenes of the movie played in my mind , then behold , you put it up in the background.
@@WalshBros . I really like the back story / history aspect of the concept for the film as I'm a big movie props person and it appeals to me, not just another toy/ collectables reveal.
@@WalshBros . What !?! No way? Never have thought to win such an item from you and this is fantastic ! I honestly did come aboard to try my luck to win one of these great reproductions of Ray's treasures but I do love his work from my first experiences in my youth seeing such great as 7th Voyage of Sinbad and this , Beast from 20,000 Fathoms but the history lessons about them , make it more than just about winning a prize. I'm so appreciative to you for selecting me. Thank You.
Most of the Harryhausen facinating creatures have already been done by other Companies such as- x plus, a japanese company called REVOLTECK (who did an impressive Argonauts skeleton complete with diarama pillar base, also some Japanese model kit companiies like MONSTERS IN MOTION the Gwangi bust by Joe Laudati is superb that I have, these were years ago now of course. And finally GENTLE GIANT who gave us- the kraken, Medusa, & Calibos all from CLASH OF TITANS film.
Amazing! I have th Monochrome deluxe on pre-order and this video has me even more excited!!! Also have the deluxe Cyclops. Star Ace is killing it! One question, is it a full 32cm tall or is it a little shorter to be in scale with the other models?
Great and thorough review. I got the color version, but I'm trying to determine what scale it is. How long is the wrecked car?....this might help determine the scale.
Well I knew it would cost 200.00 or more. I hope I didn't waste your time. At least I have A Great Martian War Machine when affordable from the 1980's from War of the Worlds. Must have been Great to meet Mr. Harryhausen Himself !
I asked Ray Harryhausen what color was the Rhedosaurus, and he said it was a black and white movie so it was gray. Almost sounded like a joke, but he appeared to be serious. Very large animals tend to be gray or brown, and not brightly colored. I'm not against green, though.
hi john ive just thought but are there any plans to do say a model kit of the octopus from it came from beneath the sea say attacking the fourth bridge
hi john .. is there any way star ace could do a seperate model kit to go with the soft vinyl model kit of the rhedosaurus of say a clump of rocks and the lighthouse or a model of the smashed car and lampost that comes with the deluxe version but as i say, do a seperate kit you can buy of those to go with the plastic model
At this stage there are no plans for sundry items. But I think it’s a great idea for model makers who want to world-build. There is a version of Red with the lighthouse coming soon.
@@WalshBros yeh to have seperate model pieces you can buy that the kits dont come with like the bases for the deluxe versions would be good and im sure theyd sell too or include them with the models like the smashed up car and lamppost but let me know if you would
