Have these conversations about BUSTS like Sam Bradford, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin, Marcus Mariota & Matthew Stafford #1 pick who has never even sniffed the second round in the playoffs. QB's, who had more weapons & better organizations. Qbs that were placed in positions to succeed like Cam & achieved less. They all had injuries just like Cam & weren't durable enough to return like Cam. Yet they've all gotten more chances than Cam.

Nah everybody doubted this man out of Auburn but he shocked everybody, broke records and established himself as a real duel threat QB. The man overachieved if you ask me shame how his career ended in Carolina.

He leads them to the Superbowl and they let go of the leading receiver who was the best deep threat he ever played with. Andrew Luck got his starting job but no problem after back to back years of missing half the season from injuries and in both seasons the backup qb won more games than him smh . If you compare Lucks & Newtons numbers they were actually similar lol. Luck is the more "Accurate" QB but Cam Newton has accomplished more with the same amount of help. Roethlisberger hasn't made the playoffs since 2017 & had a similar Injury at 38 YEARS OLD but virtually had far better talent around him than Cam, yet he's praised for his "grit & determination."

Cam made it to the Super Bowl without his best receiver at the time who was Kelvin Benjamin, who is a free agent right now because he’s overweight lol. The Panthers have underachieved Cam. They have failed to give Cam star wide receivers and a o line. Cam has been one of the most injured players in NFL history.

A #1 overall pick who actually panned out and gave a relatively new franchise something to cheer for the first time after a lost Super Bowl... how can that be underachieving? Add on top of that an NFC Championship, and an MVP title. There's no way that can be "too little" for a team that does not have the historic success to warrant his achievements as such.

He had a solid career. Was a top 10 QB for a year, won an MVP, almost won a championship. Nothing amazing, but definitely not terrible.

Cam only missed 20 games in 9 seasons. Most of those 20 games came from last year, when he missed 15 games. Yet people say he's injury prone. 4 out 9 seasons - he's made it to the playoff, 1 season in which he got to the Superbowl. Last Playoff Appearance was 2017. They overrergarate Cam presence, Why? Cause he does Touchdown celebrations & the way dresses? All that is white noise. One of the hardest workers & most disciplined players in the league. Work ethic is impeccable. Ron Rivera should thank Cam, for willing teams to wins through injuries. They praise QB's like Big Ben who did it & experienced far more injuries (hasn't made playoffs since 2017).Cam's a Starter. A Leader. A Former MVP. Minus last season, he's only missed 5 games.

Underachieved is the wrong word. For being the #1 overall pick, it is maybe disappointing that he is no longer with the team at just 30 years old. He's had an and up and down career, much like his game-over-game performances over the course of most seasons. If he were just a bit more consistent, he may still be with the team. Even without the pandemic situation, I'm not sure how big of a market there would be for Cam. Also, First Take is so much better without SAS and his histrionics.

He tries to hard & not a natural. I just don't see him taking us anywhere. Cam & OBJ are finally 100% healthy. I like Baker but I don't believe he the one. People are going to get angry but, someone has to say just what the NFL will refuse to say. Cam Newton broke the record of Otto Graham, a record that stood for almost the duration of the modern football league. The fact that he is a strong african-american male in the NFL , it is easy to sit back a wait as to what the owners of the league truly feel about Newton. The Carolina Panthers almost went undefeated the year that they went to the super bowl, and the game, though questionable, should have been a victory, with an undefeated season. Money, ladies and gentlemen can speak volumes, especially if you believe that you are going back to the super bowl. The injuries are basically the only way to stop the man from running all over your defense and earning a victory. Now with that out of the way let us get to the meat and potatoes. Cam Newton needs to sit out the entire year, go into the next season totally healthy, without any doubts about his body, period. Now, he should consider going to Canada, and the same should be said for Colin Kaepernick. By next year, he should be able to play for someone after the 2021 draft.

I think Ron Rivera was the wrong coach to tap Cam's full potential. If you look at Cam's sports career he won high level championships anywhere he was playing and came up short in the NFL is the only place he didn't win a championship. The guy is remarkable.

Cam himself hasn't necessarily underachieved, but when you look at what he's done with what he's been given and the dumb decisions the Panthers organization, he hasn't lived up to the potential a lot of people expected. He was exciting and definitely a game changer, but the fact that he only had three playoff runs, is kinda disappointing for someone of his calibre. But it wasn't entirely his fault and as he said, it was more the fact that the Panthers screwed him over than him not trying

Ryan Tannehill gets completed 8 and 7 passes in consecutive playoff games last year. The Eagles and Packers drafted backups when they clearly have other needs.
