Hi Derek and Sue, Not sure if you guys remember us but my husband and I met you guys at a Caravan show in Melbourne last year... I am the lady who was shorter than Sue ... lol. After watching your episode today, I absolutely had to get on and respond in writing to your content and this is something I rarely do. We were super excited when we ran into you guys at the show since we look forward to watching you each week. You have inspired us and driven us in our own caravanning journey. Your content is awesome! You're both down to earth, real people and we adore that about you both. Jason and I are disgusted to hear about the nasty comments some people will say and it made me sad to see how hurt and bruised you both clearly are (and rightly so too). Those with such nasty comments are usually the ones who are unhappy with themselves, so it makes them feel good to project it towards others... absolutely disgusting and there is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. I believe you are right, this kind of behaviour needs to be addressed! PLEASE do not quit. You guys are inspirational. Love, love, love what you are doing. You do it well so keep it up guys. From a fellow full time caravanner (with a French Bulldog!) and retired psychologist, can I just say you hit the nail on the head - 99% of your viewers (99.9% I'd say) are the positive people you should rightly hang your hat on. The .01% who write clearly odd and socially inept responses - it might help to hold a lens up as to why they feel compelled to write what they do (lots of research on this). There's the basics like anonymity (breeds negativity) and immaturity, all the way through to narcissism, misplaced aggression, projection, power and control (which are all about helping themselves up from their own insecurities or negative position in life by bringing others down). At the end of the day it really is about them and not you. Because you two are such a lovely couple, and it's no surprise people really like what you do. Hope to see you on the road one day (we're in SA too at the moment - never say never!). Safe and wonderful travels - screw the oddballs (I can say that now, I'm a retired psych after all).

We just wanted to reach out and thank you for opening up about the whole troll situation. It's a tough topic, but one that definitely needs addressing. The impact on mental health is real, and it's something we can't just sweep under the rug. I've been thinking about what you said, and it really struck a chord. You know, I've always felt like a lot of the trolling comes from jealousy. People see what you're creating, the life you're living, and they just can't handle it. It's like they'd rather tear you down than admit they wish they were doing the same. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that your work means a lot to so many of us. And who knows, maybe our paths will cross someday out there on the road. Until then, keep doing your thing, and don't let the trolls get to you.

All I could say to you is keep doing what your doing and do what you enjoy fishing beach camping bush camping what ever as us that watch and follow will enjoy it and forget the negative people as in this world there is way to many jealous angry negative people out there. Hi Sue and Derek, Myself and my wife have been following you for the four years, my wife passed 2 weeks ago after a long illness but every midweek when you made those videos and every weekend she so looked forward to your videos and as larger people you both inspired us to get into our swimmers and into the water when we could get away for trips, i continue and will continue to watch your content as long as you put it out there. As you say the vast majority of comments are positive but you are always going to get that sort of crap from some people, don't let them get to you , keep up the good work and hopefully i will see you on the road sometime in the future. Hi Derek and Sue, we recently found and started watching your channel and since has become one of our favourite shows. I am not a fan of fishing but his doesn't mean that we wont watch the segment. We watch your channel because we enjoy the whole content that you both create as a package. This includes your destinations and activities that you decide to share. We come along for the ride and are able to share your experiences, which I believe is a huge privilege! So thankyou. These people, persons or whatever who post these unwarranted personal attacks are cowards as they hide behind there keyboards and wouldn't dare to personally attack you when confronted in person. Unfortunately they do exist and take some sort satisfaction to lift there miserable existence. I personally hate someone who takes pleasure and gratification at someone's expense. No glamour shots and bikinis, just genuine people doing what the rest of the world aspire’s to do. I came across you guys a little while ago, I went back and I think I have watched most of your episodes. Obviously I enjoy watching you both. It’s such a shame that people have such bad manners now and I believe it is because they are anonymous. I have discontinued watching some Utube people as I have become disinterested in them for whatever reason but I would never criticise them because they do not suit me. Do what makes you both happy. Coming from SA as you do, I am sure you will understand the (translated and made polite) saying “don’t let the (mental) dwarves get you down”. As you say you are out in public and unfortunately there are way too many sad, jealous, mean, vindictive, sociopathic and pathetic people out there who will want to try to break you down to their miserable level, so please try not to give them anymore of the attention they so crave it only feeds them. While it’s easy for us to say report and delete offensive comments, it must be very trying to have to deal with on the regular. I'm 65 yo and have been subscribing/following you for a while. My beautiful mother always told me, drummed into me, drilled me to: 1. never comment on the way someone eats or drinks 2. never comment on the way that someone looks or their appearance (including choice of clothes) 3. never comment on someone's bad dentition (missing teeth) because they might be, typically, a Collingwood supporter 4. never comment on someone incorrectly leaving their shopping trolley in the carpark, they might be, a humourless Collingwood supporter 5. always carry a black beanie and black wrap-around sunglasses when in Collingwood country, even caring to wear them at night, if necessary 6. never under-estimate a Collingwood supporter, anywhere, anytime 7. understand that 'bad' never lasts forever 8. pejorative comments are never about you, it's about them 9. be happy with yourself 10. need another numbered point :) Keep on overlanding, 4WD driving and boating! I so sorry that you’d had to deal with such disrespect. But please know that their dirty, low down dog comments are more of a reflection of the type of people they are, not in any way a reflection of you. Most of us could only wish to have the bravery in putting yourselves out there and the dedication to put out video after video, week after week for so long.
