In this episode, we tour the historical Baker Mansion, home of Elias Baker, founder of the Allegheny Furnace and terrible money manager. The Baker Mansion made the list of the nine most haunted homes in the United States and we can see why! We used the ghost app and got some pretty "coincidental" readings. But ghosts aside, the living who manage this historical home are some of the best we've met yet. Huge shout out to the Blair County Historical Society and its tour guides. You made the experience even better!
After touring the mansion, we drove around gorgeous downtown Altoona and visited the restaurant where my parents had their first date. We hung out with family, had a beautiful cookout with them and spent time just relaxing and getting reacquainted. We highly recommend visiting this beautiful town and taking the opportunity to explore its rich historical culture.

I live in Altoona and have for many years now, I used to walk through the lawn at Baker Mansion and im sure ive seen shadows in the windows at night, also it always gives me an eerie feeling. The train turn around is down further and they restored it. Next time you're around the area check out the Railroaders Memorial Museum, the roundabout is behind that. This building is also reported to have lots of paranormal activity. Also in the video when you were headed to the Comic book store you passed another building on the left of great significance, The Mischler Theater. There has been lots of reported paranormal activity here as well. Turn left at the Comic book store and ahead of you on the right is yet another example of lots of activity, The Penn Alto. An old hotel converted into apartments today but was a high end hotel in its heyday. You actually took a photo of the front of the theater and captured the hotel in the photos at the end of the video.I know lots of places lol

I (Lori) wrote down every place you suggested! Thank you!!!! We were hoping to get back up there this September but our daughter was in a high risk pregnancy so we haven't done much traveling the last half of this year, and now they're moving so we're helping with that. I was born up there and both of my parents are natives as well and we visited a few times a year while I was growing up and I KNOW I experienced stuff in my grandmother's house on West Chestnut. No one ever believed me, but I know what I saw. I love Altoona and really wish I'd have seen and done more during our visits there as a kid, but you know how it is. We always lived so far away so when we went, every minute was spent with family. I understand how precious that time was now, but it's always been a town I've wanted to thoroughly explore. As an adult, I'm committed to making it happen. I really appreciate your comment and I will make a point to visit your suggestions!!

@@TravelswithTommyandLori oh probably 12-15 years ago. It was 2525 West Chestnut Avenue to be specific. I love this kind of exploration, I just never document it. Next time you're around, if you need a guide..I could possibly help out a little. Another good stop is "The Lost Children of The Alleghenies" memorial, interesting story behind that too worth checking out!

@@Mbro420 Email me at threeravenscircle@gmail.com and we can exchange information so I can contact you when we finally make it up there. We'd love to have a guide! My grandparents were Bill and Dorothy Rhodes, though he passed in 93 and she moved into an apartment sometime around 2008, but I think their house number was 2908. There's another video on here of me and my cousin Mark exploring Tytoona Cave and going to some local cemeteries.

Thank you so much for watching! ❤️ We’ve used the ghost app many times but this was the first time we were able to connect the words to the actual history of a place. It was definitely a bit freaky!!! We hope to make it over to the UK in the future to explore that history as well. I have a deep love for British history.

Thank you!!!! I've been obsessed with that place since I was probably 10 or 11!! Especially that dress. I think I still have the brochure from way back then that I picked up during a visit to my grandmother's. I used to beg everyone to take me there but there was never enough time and I think my grandma was a bit afraid of it, so she never would. It was great to ride around and listen to my parent's stories and to eat where they had their first date. That meant a lot to me and I probably wouldn't have appreciated it if they'd taken me there when I was younger, so I'm glad it happened at this age in my life. Thank you so much for watching. We love y'all! Can't wait for your next adventure!!! ❤️

What's the app called?
@TravelswithTommyandLori
@TravelswithTommyandLori Год назад
It's literally called "Ghost Hunting." It has a palm print as the icon. I'm not saying it's 100 percent, but we've had a few times, like in this video, where it was fairly accurate to the story of a place.
