Then you have an exaggerated sense of yourself. Good god man, can you even imagine how many songs Pollard alone could have written that are :45 or shorter?!
George McKenna you're right, it's almost as if Robert pollard just hit record on his life since his early 20s, and that comprises GBVs entire discography
I had heard the name Guided By Voices in passing for awhile, so I then Googled "best songs by guided by voices" because I wanted to educate myself, I listened to all 20 songs listed, and then I was on my way. Holy cow this is a great band! I'm acting just like the woman in the video above.
Yes, I've heard of it - and yep - the Trump 🐖 Administration is a Disgrace...😜😆 A definite Cradle of Filth, Corruption, and Deceit! Hopefully the Teflon Don is packing his bags 🎒 and getting ready for sealed indictments and lawsuits! Bye-Don! 👋 The Petulant Baby/Uninformed Garbage Segment rides on into the sunset! Oh you mean the BAND cof - OH 😜 - yep loved them since 'Vempire' and their old stuff is spectacular! Go see them live when concerts come back, because they are amazing! 🤘🤘🤘
In 1998 my wife said " There is a band called Guided by Voices" I said "OMG I have to listen to them...20 years later and I cant stop...LONG MAY YOU RUN GBV!
I spent my childhood (when I was 13 years old) watching this show and it brings so many warm memories to mind. I’d usually watch The IT crowd every day before going to school it was simpler and funnier times lol
It's a great show and the actor who plats the boss in the later seasons (shown for a second at the end of this clip) is now on the FX show What We Do In The Shadows.
I used to watch this show when it was on ifc. I never saw this episode. I prolly would have shart myself if I had. I did notice the posters in their office and I caught the episode where Game Of Pricks played during the end credits. Good stuff!
@@stevedotwood And, of course, the joke is that he was calling himself a jelly-filled doughnut. That is, what he meant to say was, "Ich bin Berliner" -- the "ein" is not necessary for the human resident, and "ein Berliner" is (usually) a kind of pastry. But the people of Berlin knew what he meant.
@@christosvoskresye i like when i looked it up that theirs rampant articles being like actually he didn't say that, they would understand what he meant, as if people were discrediting jfk for saying sth that sounds like jelly donut. it was just a stilly thing a comedian picked up on.
He had a show on the London station GLR 25+ years ago, back before it got taken over and ruined (and much the same happened to Glinner). I remember him playing GBV's under-appreciated song Big School on it.
@zazeify it would take years to even find it, they got there start on simple solution records out in Dayton Ohio and some of that early stuff is nearly impossible to find.
