In our last full on long campaign first session we found a character named sarash (tabaxi) we basically adopted her and found out like 5 sessions in after few massive fights she had like 5hp and minus 1 to everything. She scored the killing blow on the campaign's big bad so i hold out hope for gilear

@@dragonstryk7280 If we want to go by the rules, the participation needs to be significant enough to warrant his share of xp. So far he has not even attempted any action that would help the party in the combat situation. It's also worth noting that, even if he did get his share, according to rhe rules, the amount of XP per day he can get is capped based on his level, and the rest would be lost. So at best he would gain one level.

@@bouboulroz AH, but he got killed at the beginning, so unless you are applying that rule universally, like say to player who get knocked out of combat in the first round (i.e. many first level PCs), then yes, he still gets XP.

I actually did exactly this two weeks ago. I was rolling initiatives for my character and my friend's character (he couldn't make it to the session), and I rolled a Nat 20 for each one! First rolls of the night. This week, I pulled a Nat 20 as the first roll of the night as well, but it was on an Arcane check. lol

Same here! RU-vid started pushing D20 shorts in my algorithm and the Baron scene popped up and I lost my mind laughing. Been consuming d20 content ever since. Got a dropout subscription to watch A Crown of Candy and i have watched through nearly every campaign there so far

Yeah I've been wondering if they are home brewing a lot of rules like reckless attack only giving one attack at advantage, in season 1 they kept saying that invisibility only lasts a minute even though rules as written it lasts an hour, and a few other things that seemingly got nerfed hard

@@Lord_necromancer I'm not 100% sure if this is it, but Brennan has mentioned (I think in an adventuring academy episode) that fantasy high season one was his first time running 5e. He has a lot of experience running 3.5 and other systems, but he's still very new to 5e. Of course there is also a lot of home brew as well, but I think that explains some of the rule discrepancies. I think Zack and maybe Siobhan and Lou were in a 3.5 home game with Brennan before dimension 20, so they're more familiar with those rules. I've never played 3.5 so I'm not sure if the reckless attack and invisibility things were from there but it seems possible.
