yessah, congrats... been watching your videos lately and got a lot of respect for you as a true hunter... like your insight, your views of hunting and conservation, and jus being out in da mountains enjoying da moment... not jus a headhunter, love for all aspects of da hunt! respect bro
Wow congrats! I know a few hunters that went the first week for archery. They mentioned similar things about the pressure on the deer. Shots were taken past 50 yards because they couldn’t get any closer. They were also affected by rain immediately after shooting and losing blood trails. But that’s the hunt especially for bow hunters. This same group is prepping me fore next year’s archery hunt. I can’t wait. Being out in nature and hunting is an awesome blessing. Mahalos for sharing 🤙🏽
Persistent and patience paid off. Glad u pointed out the other natural warning sings from other animals. I noticed deer here on maui, they like to go in crevices on windy days cause wind makes they jittery and spook prone. Once we found a scenario like that crevice was only 40 yards wide and they were all bedded, was like fish in a barrel. Too excited used wrong pin, su h is hunting. But I had back up Mel was at the end of the crevice with 270. One was not lucky. OK 👌 great buck looks like way.over 30". Until then aloha
@@AlanAmby hope so bud. There may never be opportunities like that again given the trajectory of things. Value what you guys got ... because much of big island that was is no more.
Thanks Blaine. I don't measure antlers or horns, however I can say it is about the largest I've ever been able to take. Not intending to hide anything there, it's just I have a personal difference with the popular idea of "trophy" stuff. I would never intend to publicly, in any way, construe some idea there is a measurement to attain for those that it may matter to. Looks good, hunter likes it, that's all I do.
Thanks. Sorry I don't "measure" stuff really. Just a thing I got away from doing some years ago. However, it is one of the largest I've been lucky enough to take home from there. Super lucky for sure.
