Honesty is a virtue, but so is not being a jerk. You'd think it would matter more what Wombat could do than where he was from. In any case, I enjoyed the second half of the interview. Nicely done Wombat and Mike!

Not really the same, but when I was finished with my enlistment in the Navy, I transferred to the Army, and we were required to go through a slightly shorter basic training. Despite ranging in ranks from E-4 to E-6, we were basically treated like privates by the Drill Sergeants, who never ceased to say that they disliked us for leaving our original branches (Air Force, Navy, Coasties, etc), to come to the Army. So, instead of actually instructing us on useful stuff that NCO's in the Army would need to know, they just spent the entire time acting as if they were training up privates, and demeaning us as often as possible. Fortunately, when I went on to AIT, the instructors there took the time to train me not only in my MOS, but also provided leadership and NCO conditioning, and used me to herd the trainee privates around. Basically, having a dislike of someone is fine, but when it affects the way you interact with them as a fellow sevice-member, it becomes a problem that is harming the service. It sounds like the officer Wombat knew was behaving more like my disgruntled Drill Sergeants.

Really? The guy sounds like a complete bellend to me, probably insecure about Wombats previous experience.

Do they even have exchange pilots on f22?

@@zyoungson215 Apparently they do, but the number who've done the program is very small from what I hear. Simply not that many F-22 airframes, so not a lot of opportunity to fit an exchange pilot into the mix.
