Yo guys! I had the same issue and was able to solve it by taking out the electric starter motor, taking it apart and cleaning all the deposits with brake cleaner, then rinsed it with WD40. Now it feels brand new. It wasn't even insane amounts of deposit. Thanks for the video bro!
From my personal experience generally if a bike is harder to start when the engine is hot (but cranking normal), it means that the valve clearances need to be adjusted.
No prob...that’s what this is all about. Helping each other out with free info Things to check. 1, Battery has juice 2, clutch lever being pulled In And it looks fine 3, fuses are all ok. Especially ignition and fuel pump fuses 4, I believe the starter relay also has a main fuse. Check that
I fixed mine, I got a new Starter your cover, both of them. Got new pins to hold on the gears etc. The last when I had, the pin that holds the gear was sloppy inside of the housing cover allowing it to deflect and bind up. No problem now.

@@chicocop4774 was the problem the dirt inside or broken starter motor I'm having same issues I put new starter motor in new battery and still don't like turning over when I stop for fuel
no one talking about the fact that when you jump start the Busa while its hot it start right away, that being said it sounds like a battery problem or electrical problem.
Great point. Couple that with my old starter being damaged. Since the starter sits in that enclosed space above the engine, maybe it’s just too poorly made and can’t handle the heat
2000 GSXR600 with 750FI swap. I have the same issue. disassembled the started today, everything looked good so I cleaned it, greased it and reassembled it. cold start works like a charm, however warm start it just is not able to crank the engine fast enought and it gets worse with every turn. I know that the engine was ran once in a while by previous owners and wasn't ridden alot. so, I should take off the panel and check for the pin socket wear and in case it's gummed, just clean it with brake cleaner and reassemble?
@@chicocop4774 will check tomorrow or the day after. I work in agriculture and right now it's kinda busy. will be doing some extra measurements around the starter and its relay aswell, just in case
I can only tell and show what I’ve done on my bike. And I haven’t had the issue anymore. I’ve since moved to Florida and still no issues. I’ve cleaned the starter gears. And changed the starter.
Hey man got a k6 750. Same issue cold start cranks almost instantly and effortlessly. The moment my temp gauge hits about 55°c she starts acting up. Any other suggestions on the fix incase this may not be the issue
My check light is on, the temp gauge is stuck on high. I touched the radiator when this happened and it was cool. Do you think that the engine is seized up, or the water pump itself is gone?
Iceberg slim if the engine cranks when it’s cooled down and even starts. It’s not seized. Let it cool down. Start it up and keep an eye on the radiator fill see if it’s still cool. even when you feel the engine is hot. Don’t do it too long as you can over heat. Not enough info to know just from what you said. Let me know what happens. DONT let the bike run for more then a couple of minutes till the issue is fixed then change the motor oil ASAP. As that oil prob was over heated and cooked
@@chicocop4774I think i fucked up big time! I bought the bike a couple months ago. I never changed the oil or coolant. I haven't ridden it much because of the weather. But today i ran it pretty hard. Didn't realize it over heated, parked it, went back to start it and realized it was stuck on high temp. It wouldn't start, it wouldn't even make audible sound when you turn the key. It sat for hours, temp gauge still high, won't start. The radiator was cool to the touch, it wasn't moving any coolant.
Iceberg slim wow that sucks. It’s been some time. First thing I would do is confirm battery is ok. Charge it and then try and see if it cranks. If it does at least it’s not seized
Iceberg slim that might be good news. Check your fuses. See if see if fuel pump fuse is burnt they are located under the dash panel on the left side.... remove left side fairing and left dash. you can then check the fuses. Under the fuse box cover is a diagram showing what fuse is for what
I'm having this problem now cold starts no problems go for a ride stop for fule and it won't start or it turns over slow replaced the starter and battery still doing it so might have to try this mine is a gsxr 750 do I need to drain all the oil before ?
Hi, i have a question: When it could't start (when hot), did the clock get reset? Because I have the same problem, if I stop after 15 min it doesn't start until cooled ~1 hour. BUT in my occasion if I try again and again the clock is reseted. That makes me think it's the regulator/rectifier.

Enzino Maldini in my case it’s been fine since. I’ve ridden in crazy hot Florida weather. I got stuck in traffic at a bike rally. And I thought for sure it would over heat. Not only didn’t it overheat but when I stoped for gas it started back up fine.
Hey I know you did this video a long time ago. How do you get the bolt of starter clutch. It keeps turning won’t come off. Help with any recommendation if you can please. Thxx
Maybe try and turn the bolt with all the gears connected. Open that tiny cover that lets you get at the bolt only and see if having everything in place helps
306jah acting like its dead is what normally happens when the starter is bad. 1 or more magnets unglued then Moves out of place. Jump starting it = doubling your cranking amps might be enough to spin the starter but after that your back where you began
I’m not absolutely sure as I resolved it on my bike with a 2 step process as I just described in this video. I’m not sure if those gears being gummed you cause undue / extra stress /resistance on the starter and messed it up or they are 2 separate issues. But in my situation. I cleaned the gears then found that the starter needed to be replaced since changing the starter I haven’t had the problem. Ans I’ve since moved to Florida so it gets super hot
I would say first look at my other vids on the starter gears. They get really gummed up from moisture in the oil. (I'm sure your thinking "I got no water in my oil") but check anyway. If the starter gears are clean then look into the starter being bad
I have the same problem my hayabusa heat up and then i stop and turn it off and trying to start it again and sound is the battery is dead . Alway have to push it and start it in first
ImPruDeNT_Beats I’ve been in Florida for the last 3 years now. Ans it hasn’t happened again. I think this was the issue. Cleaning those gears and changing the starter did it for me. I’m another vid I show how the starter had a bad magnet.
