I have recently sang this song as a solo in my Choir's concerts!!! Love the song to pieces!!! I have a pure clear voice like Hayley's but I'm not half as good!
News Flash: Hayley is 25 now! She was only 18 in that video. Check out Hayley's new album Paradiso, and see if you don't hear more emotion in her songs there. In particular, Amalia Por Amor. Amazing!
its a true classical voice! not so booming as an operatic but yet it is more controlled than pop singers. i absolutely lurve her voice but u are right!! its different. but its rare!!
Well, I am not sure who this Hayley Western is, but I have been listening to Hayley Westenra for many years. She is incredibly talented, with such a delicate grace when she sings. If I had a tenth of her talent I think I would be very lucky, but I just love singing along with her.
I loved the version sang at Lilith Fair by Sarah M., Indigo Girls, and Jewel. However, I love this one, as well. Sounds simple and clean, and gorgeous.
There is a version of this by a Canadian/Australian woman called Wendy Matthews. Hayley W has an amazing voice but I prefer the Wendy Matthews version. As Hayley gets older and her experiences grow she will sing with more passion feeling and put more meaning into her singing. The talent and potential she comes with for now is amazing and she will eclipse Wendy Matthews I have no doubt. But for now that other is a better version if you can find it :)
@thewardenlover The water is wide, I can not get o'er And neither have I wings to fly Give me a boat that will carry two And both shall row... my love and I. Their love is plentive... o'er there it grows It grows and blossoms like a rose It has a sweet and pleasant smell No flower on earth can it excel. enjoy :)
Beautifully sung by a singer with a most lovely pure voice. But the redition is marred by that unnecessary and horrible noise in the background. If Hayley were to record everything unnaccompanied or with a simple guitar backing, I'd buy the lot!
