This is a fantastic update Ryan 👏 The advantages of the deinterlacer far outweigh any negative cosmetic comments I have heard going around the module bay. I think this is awesome looks clean and refined for the way the module clicks in. Every video you make I am liking the goggles more and more! 🙌👍🤟🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

ABSOLUTELY 100% needs analog! I would not buy these new goggles without it. It would cost a small fortune to convert all my VTX to HdZero. I don't want to carry 2 set of goggles as I get things converted or if I have a crash and need to change the VTX in the field

I was thinking exactly about what you said in the end there. Those goggles can change FPV forever. HDZero built in, a much better analog video quality and perhaps even Walksnail VRX. Since I started flying my older analog quads on the new goggles with the expansion module I can tell a much bigger difference in the picture quality between low and high quality analog cameras. The sharpness of the image and the dynamic range of the colors really is a big improvements on the high quality analog cameras.

Exciting stuff Ryan, looks awesome. I did one of the popular hdzero vs analog vs dji penetration test videos on RU-vid, but it probably surprises most people I still mostly fly analog (and hdzero for toothpicks) as I prefer the consistency of feel. Can definitely tell there is a difference in quality in the dvr you’ve showed here! What is the fov like of analog in the Hdz goggle in 4:3 compared to the 04x?

I'm a noob to FPV and i took an interest in this hobby about the time some were bricking the Jumper T-Pro , THIS part of the RC hobby scares the hell out of some of those who built QUADS using KK2 fc . I have a list of which Goggles i'm considering to purchase soon . Last night i was considering DJI Goggles V2 because i would like the option of adding analog to whichever choice i make .... The difference in image quality is impressive. Using my Skyzone 04X goggles in flight I have not noticed the vertical oscillation of the image with either analog or Shark Byte digital Vrx. Budget limitations however prohibit me from ditching my present goggles for marginal gains. There will always be a better system in a few months time, just like when you think you want to upgrade your computer.

Wow that was a great update! I love the clean connection that the analog bay makes to the goggles. Any possibility of a button tab lock/release to not allow the analog module to be pulled out by accident? (Yes, I yanked out my RF module by accident once - I know I'm a spaz)

Hey Ryan, took the leap of faith after sitting on the fence for over a year. Just purchased HDZ goggles, nano 90 kit for a fresh build and analogue module for my existing quads. Current goggles HDO2s with rapid fire. When using the rapid for with HDZ goggles the lower third of the screen is jittery horizontal lines with black dashes on the very edges, unify Evo VTX. Any ideas or any links that might help? Any advise would be awesome. Thank you

As I am a bad sighted FPV pilot (more than +2) does the diopter slide comparment a "fatshark"size or will HDZero sell there own ? as you are aware a good selling point foe Skyzone is there +6 to -6 range !

Very cool for a digital goggle to at least provide an option, better yet an improved input for analog!

I wonder if is possible to have a sort of buffer to add a scanline somewhere to stabilize the osd or to show the osd elements every other frame to avoid the wobble. either way great video and definitely an upgrade over the normal analog goggles. can't wait to buy one to use with analog

Can you disable the deinterlacing? Perrsonally find the shimmer it creates a bit distracting, just wondering if the option is there to toggle it.

Sooo I’m brand new to this, and I already bought a pair of 04xs. I wanted the HDZero goggles but I didn’t want to wait that long for them. I was planning on upgrading to an HDZero VRX down the road. Will I lose out on a lot of these features?

The image colour and detail look better in the Skyzones with less bleed which surprises me.

Would love to see the same video but with any of the orqa goggles instead of the skyzones.

What are the steps for recording analog. For some reason it will not record . Do you turn goggles on first or the quade for it to record. I also have it on auto record?

Thanks for the test, but can you also do a test against the Orqa FPV.One Pilot? i switched from my sky04 v2 to the orqas, and in my opinion the image and the dvr is mutch better on the orqas, than it was on the sky04x v2. It would be nice to see how the orqas are comparing against the hdzero goggles analog interlacing.

Is that the v2 or v3 steadyview on the skyzone?

I keep saying that I have not had a problem with analog and see everything as clear as I need to. Especially as we all carry an HD camera and don’t use the DVR footage anyway… If I was to go digital it would be HDZero as it’s very similar to analog but with the higher dpi quality.

IMO, this is the holy grail if you fly fast. Any idea when these goggles will be available?

HDZ just made the best analog goggle available... not it looks even closer to HDZ XD I like that you guys go through with it though and it makes it so much easier to switch for analog latency-sensible guys as you just can use the same goggles and gadually switch or selectively add HDZ where it fits most... probably what I'd do... Great work guys. I'm really curious how this one will turn out.

The part about the analog video that bothers me the most is the flashes. If the HDZero goggles can get rid of those flashes, then it's already a WIN for me. Fully support it.

the sharpness looks pretty good on the HDZero, but I would 100% prefer to fly the picture on the skyzone dvr. The contrast, and crushed blacks are a deal breaker. Hopefully that gets ironed out and the HDZero goggles would be a no brainer.

If I understand this correctly, you buy an expensive HDZero goggles which you can use for the HDZero feed, then buy an analog "Adapter" which will accept the analog signal feed from any of our existing analog VTXs. Is that Correct? Am I understanding this correctly?

More vertical resolution is a nice way of saying "actual analog vertical resolution" because the Skyzone Sky04x renders fields as frames, with only half of the vertical resolution that two combined fields would give (as you correctly pointed out later in the video). Also, very cool comparison. HDZero Goggles perform really, really well, although if you pause at 6:13 for example, the tree on the left looks actually more detailed in the Skyzone image. I wonder if this is a result of the DVR compression having a hard time with the "punchier" colors and higher contrast.

I'd say it's worth it to migrate. The Sky04X is a decent goggle, but it has a fair share of issues that randomly pop up that they don't appear to be super interested in working out. Some of them even arise after they say they fixed them. Besides, the current VRX has its own issues that the new unit appears to fix.

Very interesting project! But to me doesn't look like an image quality that worth upgrade. Yes it is noticeable when you know where to watch but overall doesn't change much -- still crappy. For example when you said the fence shot is good to see the difference I saw none at first glance. Later -- yes, roof is smoother on the right. The other shot of roof and the wall with dumpsters -- yes you can see the difference. But you also see how horizontal parallel wood planks blend into a mess for both hdzero and skyzone. I mean hdzero analog better that regular analog crap but still crap on a big scale

However when I record the actual lens at a high frame rate with a gopro I see the opposite (see link above) - the image is stable and the osd is moving up and down each field. If you do an actual high frame rate recording of the screen itself you can see the difference from the 60fps dvr (which the entire image is moving up and down), unless I'm doing something wrong here ofc! thanks

Why would anyone want to go back to analog after using digital? Only positive analog has over digital is latency and that only matters in racing. For everything else Digital is superior in every way.

well, it's nice to have a good analog input. but nobody's will buy this goggles to fly analog. probably not the best idea to put too much effort into this feature... I really hope hardware wise the Google will be more perfomant than the vrx modules. for example the current vrx can't playback DVR files without stuttering. that's really annoying...
