There's no way I would even consider staying. I caught my now ex husband, the father of my 3 kids, trying to slip around with someone he knew before we ever met. They were in the planning stages. I packed up and moved out while he was at work. Not a way in the world that I would tolerate someone who cared so little for my physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Not just that..most sex workers are doing so non consensually..if people like him didn't exist there would be no sex trafficking in the first place..him using prostitutes creates the demand for them which is what leads to exploitation and trafficking in the first place because the amount of women happy and willing to do that line of work is far far smaller than the demand for it. So he is harming his wife and other women with his actions.

My husband of 30 years deceived me for years with his PA , the two of them coordinated their efforts to hide their affair. He was devastated when I left , but I knew I could ever trust him again and I told him him , if you manage to go through the hard work you need to be an honest man I’m not the woman for you , at that point you will deserve a woman who believes in you. By leaving I freed my self from the impossible work of trusting him and freed him to live what ever life he chose .

I was in the same situation 20 yrs ago. I was married to a man from a culture where this type of situation was very acceptable for married men to do. The woman's role was to look the other way just to keep the family together. I filed divorce and said he needs to fight for me and change. The divorce is just a piece of paper. I am moving forward but he still had an opportunity to fight and change and create something new. He decided to abandoned me instead. It was hard but I was able to move forward. I met a new wonderful husband and he adopted my boys and had 2 more children. The reason why she can't let go is cause he really hasnt changed. He is on good behavior right now. Once things get comfortable he will go back.

I worked in a hotel for 2 years as a teenager. This was happening a lot! We would suspect there is a prostitute somewhere and kick her out after the 3rd man walking in and asking for that room. They would always be wearing wedding rings. I can’t justify this ever - it is dangerous, disgusting and super low. No woman I’ve ever known has gone to sex workers to get her fix, yet I’ve seen many men do it. It’s never just sex and its always cheating. I would not stay in such marriage - ever!

I've been an intimate confidant to several married men. I wasn't aware they were married at the time but trust me, when a married man spends time with another woman, it's RARELY just about sex. I've been involved with married men who text me all day, or late at night to talk about their feelings and frustration...or they would just wanna rest their head on my lap and sleep. If I were this lady, I would dissolve my marriage. She's at the point in her life now, if she continues all she becomes is a caretaker. Many older women are doing this: Evaluating whether or not their husbands are worth caretaking for. If he's treating you poorly, taking you for granted, spending your family money on prostitutes and whores, doesn't care how this effects you..... it's time to take care of yourself. He's not thinking in marriage terms anymore, she should stop also. Many older women get together for living situations, friends, group activities, etc. I hope she gets out; what a disgusting thing for her husband to do right at the end..... Very sad.

@@hillarybillary21 That's actually incorrect; statistics are reflecting higher mortality rates among younger people and for the first time in quite awhile, the mortality rate has started to trend downward versus the consistent upward trend the US has enjoyed over the past 50 or so years. Even if we are generous and say you'll for sure gonna live until 80 (no guarantees for anybody) you can most certainly expect the latter part of those years to be more focused on caretaking and preparing whatever it is you need to do before you pass. I know if I were to observe what my grandparents/parents are doing, none of them are certainly dating that are single; the female ones especially are VERY against the idea of cohabitating with a man due to the caretaking expectations. The ones that are partnered? The women 100% are caretaking. My mothers husband was barely 60 when she had to begin caretaking for him: Obese man. That's if they're healthy, which you make this assumption that they are....I'm going off of American statistics, here, and it doesn't look so good health-wise for your population. I don't think it's unreasonable to start thinking at 56 as to whether or not caretaking is coming down the road quickly or not.... Maybe you should listen to some of Ramseys callers who call in discussing how they can afford to caretake for their ailing parents when they themselves are only in their mid-20's.... caretaking for individuals who are not even yet 56 years of age.

As a prostitute myself, I want to add that I wouldn't have taken up this role if so many men didn't inquire. After being offered thousands of dollars for what I've done for free, it's easy to say yes. In my eyes, at this point, it seems being a woman is a facet of sex work in itself. Our labour can be commodified, as there is little expressed value from men in forms other than monetary. I appreciate compliments, or adoration but my truest form of love has not been expressed to me. While I await my future partner, I feel compelled to entertain a few offers. I can share that many of my deepest desires have been fulfilled due to my lifestyle. Life is a game without a particular rule book; while we have guidebooks nothing is as simple as it seems. While I have gained so much, I have also given up a sense of my innocence. My eyes and ears have witnessed things only few can imagine. I do not consider my innocence to be 'gone' forever, but that I moved along the path that has been meant uniquely for me. As a business woman so often I am praised for my bravery, while in comparison to civie women I actually screen men to gain information prior to meeting for my own safety; Actually those women are more brave than me. I also wonder how women go on dates without ensuring their safety and and that their time is well utilized. Before wondering why I do this, please consider why men come to see us first. It is supply and demand. Without demand, supply would go down, with more supply, demand decreases. Consider as a human race, why is this "job" considered the oldest profession in the world, and lastly, consider why monetary compensation is one of the primary focuses within a divorce. Consider charging beforehand in order to save yourself a headache. P.s. Even 'high-end' escorts like myself, have standards.

I can't even begin to understand the torture this woman must be going through, trying to convince herself to trust that man again. It's almost unfathomable what she's facing, yet I don't understand why it's an equally pushed narrative that she could work on the brokenness inside her caused by him, to fix the marriage that he ruined. Her doubts are very well placed, placed there by infidelity done over years. Blaming herself one bit for not being able to move on from this, when he was never the man she thought she married, breaks my heart.
@joywebster2678
@joywebster2678 6 месяцев назад
She doesn't have to trust him, but she also doesn't have to torture herself. So by healing herself vs forgiving him, she opens the doors to possibilities...be it building something new with the husband, or finding companionship only with him, or walking away. But she's right she is stuck by revisiting every trauma. So healing is for her. I call it accepting reality, vs. Forgiving in the early steps.

Sylvia, you deserve better. It will be strange to be on your own after so long, but he is not safe. He will continue to hurt you. Oh good grief. Why on earth should she believe that the changes he has put in place are genuine. The reason that she is struggling to move forward is because he is STILL not doing enough to change himself and his life. The ONLY reason he claims a wish to change is because he was found out. She does need to forgive herself, but she needs to start holding HIM accountable and not herself. What EXACTLY has he done to hold himself accountable. Instead we hear that he is frustrated that she is struggling to move on and accept his changed person - he has absolutely NO RIGHT to expect or even hope for that from him. If she decides to stay, she will be sacrificing far more than he does. And I doubt if he would comply with her actual requirements that she have total control. And the likelihood of him doing this again is very high. When a person tells you who they are - believe them. Now, she can chose to alter her mindset - but I fear that when he does the same again, she will feel even more foolish and perhaps completely overwhelmed. Altogether too much of this is about that SHE has to do rather than what she needs from her husband, and how to ask for it.
@joywebster2678

No one wants her to stake her self out as a victim. But to find a way for her to live, what ever that looks like, she must forgive herself, and accept the reality he was a smuck. Protect her finances, lifestyle. They can live parallel in same home, or build a friendship, or see what happens. But it's on her because he will never be that amazing guy she thought she married. So she needs a counselor to help her rage, and feel the anger. Then she can start making decisions for herself.

Sylvia is choosing to stay, but shes already left emotionally, and I don't blame her. I think she should be gone, and stay gone. 0% chance her husband did not seek prostitutes throughout their 38 years of marriage, and (in my personal opinion) 0% chance he is going to be able to 'change'. You don't just all the sudden have respect for the woman you love, the mother of your children, when you've done something like that. The trust is broken. I think the fear here is that she is worried about being alone in her later years, and thats valid, but better to be alone than to be with someone who has hurt you that deeply. My grandfather was very abusive to us, I was raised by my grandparents, and let me tell you.... the moment he passed, my gran was sad of course, but it was like she was finally able to breathe. Sylvia has her children, she will not be alone, and leaving gives her the opportunity to be with someone who might treat her better, or being alone wil give her the independence to do what she wants, whatever that is. Her husband made his choices, he needs to live with those choices. You don't get to have a wife after you do something like this... for years.

The fear is not completely about being alone, the fear is at that age how does she financially start completely over? She may or may not get anything in a divorce and how would she retire? Many women stay because being homeless after divorce is a very real issue for women. Women do 40% worse financially after a divorce a men at 18-20%. To the man who had to walk 5 miles home because he was disrespectful to the driver (your wife)...you must be full of adrenaline already, that helps keep you alive. Hopefully, you are fit and a good walker so that you will reach home in 1 hr and 30 minutes, plenty of time for you to think and calm yourself down,

Why do people get married after 1-4 years of dating in the USA? It's like a given... if a couple isn't engaged after 4 years, they might as well break up?!

I’m from Atlanta and if you’ve ever been there, there is a “highway” if you will, called Fulton Industrial (FID for short), going West towards Marietta. Those hotels had working girls standing outside and there would be cars and trucks circling the hotel like a drive thru to choose their “pick”. Sad really, as I am sure most of them were married men. *Le Sigh* 😔

Wifey won’t do what those women are very willing to do, for money of course but still. This is the number one reason why no man wants to get married anymore. My church has a no judgment zone men’s conference call once a week to vent and converse about everyday problems. ALL OF THE MARRIED MEN YOUNG AND OLD COMPLAINED ABOUT SEX as far as not getting it how they like or getting it often enough/not at all. Just to hear that and all of us single men are having wonderful casual sex, I’m even having 3somes with women, it amazes me that sex as a single man is far better than married sex. Just off that alone I will never marry.

There are streets like that in all major cities, and little hidden secret corners like that even in the smallest townships! And trust me - 75% of all men know the locations, whether they choose to go there or not - they know where it is!

About the "am I the problem" scenario - 35⁰ is a nice day for a walk in a Minnesota winter. A sweatshirt is enough (unless it's windy). Not going to die from exposure in the hour or less that it should take to cover 5 miles. Walk fast and stay warm.

For what? What does she gain by leaving? Personally I'd just stay and draw a line in the sand... your life and my life. He chose a roommate, business partner, and employee relationship. It isn't optimal or even remotely ideal but it is what it is. She chose a dud, but their time has run out. He chose to end their marriage when he chose to begin thinking about cheating... now it simply is what it is. She might as well try to enjoy her own life now. I mean if she's independently wealthy it would be best to expose him for what he is and leave. However for most of us the financial situation doesn't work that way.
@ssiegreen5292
@ssiegreen5292 6 месяцев назад
@@sarahalderman3126 Peace of mind. The stress of living with a partner that was/is cheating, is unbelievably stressful. It can turn you into a person that you don't recognize yourself, that you don't like and that you can no longer respect. It's bad enough to loose respect for your mate or partner, it's worse when you cannot look yourself in the eye in the mirror any longer!

I don’t think John is saying this guy has changed. What he is saying is if she has perceived he’s changed, and he’s shown her/taken the steps to be trustworthy again then she has to be all in . But listen to 10:59 and 15:27. There is really nothing to disagree here with Delony because he didn’t put his personal perspective out. He gave both sides of the fence. Either be all in or be all out!

I had gone throigh this almost 20 years ago and although prostitutes were not involved,I almost left my husband.I couldn't prove it,but I felt it.Our children were 11 and 8 at the time and I told my husband that even if I can prove this 25 years from now,we are done!The thought of what this affect our children made me stay because I felt so trapped.The woman usually always feels it in her gut,that something was off.The hurt and betrayal almost 20 years later I just learned to live with through therapy and trying not to look back.
