After their search at the experiment survivor's motel room is finished, the team is left grappling with new information: the "x face" is really a person, and it's very possible that they've been sneaking around the studio pretending to be a ghost this whole time. How did they manage it? And for what purpose? It seems to offer more and more questions when the team is already exhausted. However, it's possible it won't be very long until some of those questions are answered...

Quick theory- the document found in the experiment survivor's room is talking about 3 phantoms, specifically the first 3 to be under the control of syntec due to serum, one of them is probably the new one. Another one may or may not be Ben and the third.... I don't know why but the first thing that came to mind is that the survivor was- well- an ex phantom. It's a pretty crazy idea, but it would make more sense why she had the document.

Honestly, it's their own fault... I commented in the last video that you can only make something as secure as the previous time, which is why the TSA is just unnecessary and wasteful security theatre. After years of being endangered, they're still using Nest, they still haven't really searched their building, the key fobs they're using was already proven to be compromised, even the front entrance to each 'base' is just a glass wall and door...

Honestly, that whole check in with subject 4 because they don’t seem like they’re on your side anymore hit hard. Cuz I’ve been finding them more reckless as this progresses. (Also my favourite twist is good guy turning bad guy) Wild guess but maybe double X is Wes, he wore it and was apparently shot but there’s no body at the grave. Maybe the grave was more of a metaphorical way of saying the old Wes was dead.

One would think that after the last time they entered the vault after learning about the one who was harrasing them, and after being confined inside their own Vault by the Phantom Ben. That they'd be more careful in that vault, like oh, gee I dunno standing i the door or at least opening it so that it can't be slammed shut so easily.

Hey Matt, Woods, Sam, and Bailey, now this is just my theory about this new "Phantom" roaming around the facilities by chance have you guys checked all of the staircases and the walls under the stairs to see if there's any like doors or a hidden passage way. Too is there any unused or being used rooms in the facility that you guys could look into to see if there's any passages in the walls or maybe even a trap door on floor where this New Phantom is coming from?

Alright then! Matt is NOT XX Phantom, confirmed! That "Subject 4 doesn't seem like they're on your side anymore" was definitely a jab aimed at us for pointing out Matt's recent behavior. If he sees all of these accusing messages toward him, it'll shake his faith in us. His trust of his own team is already precarious, and now he won't trust us either because we aren't trusting him. Complicated!

He said every syntec building, implying there's more. Also I'd suggest looking for the "secrets" he was referring to. Both times it seems that they came from the room next to the vault, maybe check the cameras on that. He mentioned that you were gullible, so clearly he is manipulating you in some way. I find it a bit skeptical that right away the undercover officer reached out to you, but it could be a coincidence.

Just noticed on looking back at this. I cannot see the 'Phantom' in the reflection of the picture frame. You can see the doorway at the top of the stairs, but it is empty.

Maybe the previous Phantom was an older one as in on the prototype serum and didn’t reach full phantom potential because his mind twisted and this one is a later one on the better formula serum and reached this level. This theory is based on the difference in their masks “x face” has a more refined mask with digital glasses showing no facial features (taking away that theres a human being behind the mask), Ben’s mask was kinda makeshift to help his injuries and serve some purpose, but still showing a little skin and visible eyes (in person that is, hinting at the fact there was still a somewhat human mind somewhere behind the mask). [This is completely an assumption based on previous knowledge and the thumbnail, written before the video goes live.]

One thing is, is when Matt went into the wall for the safe, how did he know the code. He never mentioned it. He just said don't worry about it. He also should know to not leave his team like he did when Sam and woods went to the other location. Also XX dude watches these, so if he were able to get the code or something to the vault, he knows where the folder is. Be careful.

In all fairness he didn't really leave his team like the last time they were in the same building for one and for two it was their own building so being separated between floors for a minute doesn't really count as leaving them.

My suggestion based on other shows I’ve seen with manipulation and mind control is; tell Matthias what you are thinking about as a team keep one person with Matt so even if he is manipulated into betrayal someone can attempt to stop it

Alrighty... since it seems to be my thing to recap the videos after watching them with impressions and theories, lets start cause boy, I noticed A LOT! To start, did anyone notice how Matt was much more himself this video. cracking jokes about what he's doing "just some doofus with a camera" and being more helpful with everyone? I know we've been talking a lot about how much the serum has affected Matt's personality and actions, but I think this video was the wake up call. The "Matt himself notices what's happening and also tries to work against it" sorta thing. He just had it confirmed that the absalate is (bad?), not totally sure on that one. And that the S.P.I.R.E. is in fact, good. And with the team willing and ready to help, I can only imagine that the next few episodes will be them working together (again, yay! *hopefully*) to fix things and help Matt with whatever the serum is doing. Also, back to the Absalate being possibly bad. This could possibly mean that it's what's causing Matt to be active, or act least to act the way he has been. So could it be that all the phantoms have something like it, which is why our double X guy said he knew it intimately? Maybe they don't have something exactly like it, but it could be similar. Anyways, those are my first thoughts... And just to prove the phantom wrong, I'm still on Matt's side. Never left, was just hoping that they would figure out a solution sooner or later, and it seems we're starting to.

When he said intimately though, it reminded me how Wes would be seen constantly wearing it at all times. He was possibly in the same scenario as Matt where he had to wear it to practically save him from the serum, thus why Deb was working on spire to possibly save him & others? Maybe Deb didn’t shoot him but someone who was mind controlling Wes to shoot himself? Making it complicated for Deb to make a rash decision and run off after her intimate partner was killed.

This video is proof of the amazing writing skills ya'll have. 👏 The attention to detail, specifically on the part where we subject 4 are having trouble being on Matt's side because that much is true, at least for me personally. I mentioned it in a comment last video, Matthias is becoming too paranoid and distrustful, and the way he speaks about his own team, aka his sly remarks toward Woods, is what can really get his team in trouble or cause problems in the investigation. I'm also SO SO relieved that they put the whole "haunted by a ghost" thing to rest and gave an answer to who is really behind everything. Overall, despite it being a short video, it was packed with so much information and clues. I'm super excited to see what's going to happen next episode.

Another great episode. Was just thinking though from when Matt went to see Ben in jail we all pointed out the fact that there were Syn Tec pens and other items with Syn Tec logos on them. This instantly from Subject 4 was spotted as a red flag that the police were potentially corrupted by Syn Tec or had some involvement, yet it has been under the radar from Matt and the team. Yet as seen by double XX the police are definitely in some way aiding Syn Tec. ----

THEORY: Is there a possibility that double X could be Wes? Because if the absalate was keeping him from turning into a phantom, when it was taken off his body it made him come back to life as a phantom because of the serums. The double X could be used to show that he was already dead before, and the fact that he said he knows the absalate very Intimately meaning he had a connection to it because it was keeping him from turning. Wes was the only one who has ever worn the absalate, I think that Wes is alive again but not as he used to be.

Welp, first and foremost, I'm so so happy that Matt is not the XX phantom because that would have been heartbreaking but also feel like would have turned our whole world upside down. Now all my recent theories are going into the trash...ONCE AGAIN, but for once, I'm not even mad about that because this means our boy Matt is not completely lost to the dark side...at least for now haha Next, I gotta say...I was so scared for Matt when the phantom popped up on the top of the stairs and he was alone. I was on the edge of my seat while watching that whole interaction and when he started going down the stairs so menacingly I for sure thought something bad was about to happen, THANK GOD it didn't. Now I'm back to square one trying to come up with YET ANOTHER THEORY, but honestly my mind is just...blank. Let's see what happens on Friday, shall we.

Do we know Wes is even dead?? We saw the murder tape but I've read reports of people shooting themselves in the head and living with a bullet lodged in their brain. Deb said hers was a blank, if she's telling the truth then he could still be alive

You are forgetting that Deb shot him in close range. There is no way a person could be alive after that. Do you remember seeing Wes Lab coat? The coat is heavily stain with blood. No one could be alive after loosing a lot of blood without medical intervention.

I really expected Matt to be the one who closed the vault, because he said "I'm gonna lock up my office" and that seemed sus to me, but thankfully I was wrong, but it still seemed sus, was he really locking up? The suspense, the twists, the turns... I am addicted to this. I can't say I've contributed much to theorizing but I'm definitely awe struck everytime I watch. If Double X says he's Matt's ghost, not spellbound's ghost, could he actually be a figment, side effect from the absolate or serum, of matt's imagination that Matt unknowingly embodies? I haven't turned my back on Matt, he still makes good points, but this is the "what ifs" of my mind. I did notice that double X didn't have a reflection in the frames which definitely could be explained but still, the rest of subject 4 will be sus about it I bet.

When you think about it... Phantom. Phantoms are believed to be a type of ghost highly known to show itself for a short moment of time then disappear also known to absolutely disappear for a moment of time after a photo has been take of them. Maybe something with the disappearing from a photo and all proof of writing only being caught through a video has something to do with this?
