@@catzndolz61 I think Stevie was a master and was a big fan of him. And true I never heard him play classical guitar pieces. Did he? I would like to hear. But I stand with my comment that it are other worlds with very different techniques of playing just as Flamengo is. In that field Paco de Lucia was an absolute giant.
Stevie was only given to us for a short while. Appreciate him, love God like Stevie learned. Stevie is so very loved by millions and millions of people around our world.
'The lord giveth....and the Lord taketh away" Saying God doesnt exist is like saying SRV didnt exist. GOD the spirit gives us great experiences. treats. Few notice until God takes them back
It is so good to see what the skills of Stevie Ray Vaughan does to people on their first time hearing him. A little personal note. Stevie died when my wife was pregnant with our first son. She was heartbroken & insisted that his middle name be Vaughan. By the time he was 16, he was an excellent self taught blues & rock guitarist. He's way better now. We still remind him of his name & the 'Spirit of Stevie' that lies within. Ha!Ha!
@@SarahDengler Aug 1990. He was on tour with Eric Clapton who had 2 helicopters. When they were leaving, Stevie got off Eric's helicopter and got onto #2. They were flying over a mountain in fog and #2 hit the mountain. Eric Clapton says Stevie was the best guitarist he ever met.
Stevie was the magic man - he best guitar player who ever lived. He went to a place off this world an brought back soul and love and majesty for all of us to witness. RIP to the most humble, gentle, kind "not of this world" man. To see more right away go to "Voodoo Child" live from Austin. There are a ton of videos of SRV and he reaches out to play every note like it is all that matters on earth and I hope you enjoy watching for the rest of your life. Thanks for the wonderful reaction!
@@rudycompton5366 they were best of friends. Stevie loved Jimmie among others. BB King had the greatest compliment for SRV.... He was and and still is loved by many. RIP SRV....
I was in the hospital with my newborn baby girl when I heard about his death. Such a bittersweet moment. I cried hard. Stevie did us proud down here in Texas. Great guitarist. Greater person! Rest-in-Peace Stevie...we love you.
You've just witnessed the best that has ever walked this planet. There will never be another SRV!! As a side note....you are lovely with a beautiful smile.
The Joy She finds Listening makes Me feel that I am hearing this Song again for the very first time…Truly an “Emotionally”Draining Performance for the Listener…
One of the greatest live musical performances ever captured on video! Clapton got it right when he described SRV as just an open channel for music, soul, and emotion to flow through and bless us!!!! You absolutely nailed the reaction! I have watched that performance countless times and it always feels that amazing!!! GOAT.
Nobody made the guitar wail the blues like Stevie did, this was in my opinion the best blues guitar number ever recorded. saw him play live twice and ill never forget it RIP STEVIE WE MISS YOU
Indeed, Stevie had a direct connection from his soul to his guitar. I was fortunate enough to see him live 3 times and there is no such thing as hyperbole when describing his GOAT-ness.
I chuckled to myself when I saw SRV on your list, and thought I bet old Stevie Ray will get her all of a fluster lol 😉 💃🏾🎸👍🏻 There are levels of instrument mastery , and then there was SRV. When you’ve gotten over the shock and listen again, take in how good his vocals were too. 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🎸- go Sarah
Live at the El Mocambo is regarded as one of the greatest live concerts ever recorded. Stevie was always superb but he was on a different level this night
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats **Life Without You at Capitol Theater ** **Tightrope at Austin City Limits 1989** **Voodoo Child at Starwood Theater in Nashville**
Absolutely LOVED your reaction! There are so many more performances by Stevie Ray and Double Trouble that will also blow you away! The best thing about it, Stevie was as humble as he was talented. Please react to “Mary Had a Little Lamb “ from the Austin 1989 concert. You’ll see how amazing his band was, as well. Thank you!!!!
I knew nothing about him, never heard a song by him on the radio, and saw him live. I was beyond blown away. I tried to tell my father about what I witnessed. My father said, 'He sounds like quite the showman'. I was like, 'Dad, you don't understand. It was beyond showman. That's like calling God a showman. You can't see anything else like him. The guy is a miracle.'
I had the exact same experience. It's hard to describe but I knew when I was watching him play right in front of me that this was a special moment in time that I'd always think about. He was just so unbelievably great.
I've been a fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan sence his first album. I've saw him on two times in Memphis in May. Once a BB Kings Nite Club in Memphis. Wonderful, I still have all his music bcuz he is the best.
So many people don’t realize how hard it is to do what Stevie did on the fly and naturally. Talent like his is once every hundred years or so. There still is no one doing what he did with a guitar. His ability to jump around with fast riffs bending every string he played in ways they haven’t been bent. It was truly amazing to know he lived here with us back then.
Years doesn't matter, Stevie, from the time he was 13 always had his guitar with him, it was a constant appendage, after finishing shows he'd go back to the tour bus and keep playing. The man was obsessed, and it shows.
My son once asked me why I like SRV so much (This was well before he'd discovered his own love of music). I told him, "If you need someone to explain SRV to you, you'll never understand." Even if he'd have never sung a single lyric in his entire career, I would have known exactly what he was trying to tell me. RIP, Stevie.
SRV Stevie Ray lived here in Austin developing his craft at the clubs and venues. He now belongs to the world. We have a 10ft Bronze statue of him and his guitar 🎸 in a park along a river next to the City. Thanks Stevie!
Saw Stevie live way back in 1988 opening up for Robert Plant, was an incredible performance, mind blowing. Once in a lifetime event. Will never forget it. Cheers😃
SRV and his incredible talent expressed in a single song. He along with BB King are my favorites when it comes to Blues music. It's a shame we lost him so young.
@@wgdavis5353 BB King said 'SRV was the best blues black man, in a white man's sking' SRV was the only blues guitarist, he ever allowed on stage with him. Now that is a true compliment from Mr. KING.
When he played, it was like the guitar was the only thing keeping him on this Earth. It was the lifeline to reality for someone with many, many demons. And he treated everyone about him so sweetly, his band Double Trouble was amazing, how many could keep up with this madman as he played every song differently and they never missed a beat. If someone came up to him after a show with a story about fighting addiction, he would talk to them for hours to convince them to keep up the fight. We did not deserve him, and so he went home too soon...
Stevie Ray!!!!! Absolutely SPECTACULAR!!! That’s all I can say!!!! Love your reaction Sarah as always 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️! Thank you and take good care of yourself 😄😄!
One of the best reactions ever SD ( I have been with you from the beginning of your reaction channel) ! You had me after your reaction to Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" Rock On
@@SarahDengler You'll see comments asking for your reaction to his cover of Jimi Hendrix's VOODOO CHILD. Stevie cut his teeth teaching himself to play like Jimi. You'd be knocked out by this, for sure.
He couldn't read music , played with his eyes closed, played behind his back without missing a beat, You can hear, see and feel his soul through his guitar playing and what a great sound to his guitar !! I loved 😍 your reaction !! Keep listening and welcome to the SRV Fan club! ENJOY! 🎸🔥🎸😁🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥
It's a joy to watch you listen to this. I wish I could listen to Stevie Ray for the first time again. If young people can listen to this and feel what you're feeling, perhaps there's hope for the future of music after all.
I have to have watched 30 or 40 reactions to this one and it hits me in the goosebumper every damn time. Dude's amazing. Some sort of blues guitar spirit medium.
I had the same reaction myself when I first saw the DVD 32 years ago. Should you want to go down the rabbit hole that is the Texas Blues, he did produce 6 outstanding studio albums.
@Sarah Dengler ...SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughan) died in August of 1990 in a tragic helicopter crash following a concert appearance at Alpine Valley, a ski resort area of Wisconsin in the USA. It was a foggy night, and the pilot didn't see a hill in front of him. A terrible loss of four passengers and the pilot. Stevie Ray was just 35.
It is said that people die twice, the first being the physical and the second being when their name is never spoken again. By this metric SRV will likely live forever.
Your reactions are priceless. Your joy is contagious. I'm also impressed by your ability to understand and keep up with what SRV was doing. Many people would just be overwhelmed but you were like a sponge, soaking it up and loving it.
That's Stevie's cover of the Jimi Hendrix song. Stevie's respect for Jimi is so evident but it really is a Jimi/Stevie fusion. I think you'll love it, Sarah -
Welcome to TEXAS Sarah! Ha Ha! Yup, he’s one of ours and he’s for everybody! Great reaction, but not unusual for this performance. He’s been blowing minds with this all across the reaction channels for a while! 😁👍
Hi Ms. Sarah, someone did U a disservice by suggesting "Texas Flood" as your 1st. SRV song, U get the Surprise on the 1st. listen.. Someone below suggests "Voo Doo Chile", I agree and "Sound Check" which is better than most others show.. If U watch the live version of "Look At Little Sister" U get to see Mr. Reese Wynans the Keyboardist show out.. ♠W.G.
He was a true master when he grabbed his guitar and was also humble and true to his roots. I met him several times when I was young and partying as a teen running around in Oak Cliff Texas. He lived a few blocks over from my first wife and her mother. I also hung out with him and his brother a few times after he got signed. On one occasion A few friends and myself drank Weller's with him and his brother out in the parking lot of The Reunion Tower Arena which is what it was called back then during a ZZ Top concert. it was a fun time. He was basically checking out the competition (as he put it) when I asked why him and Jimmy did not want to go in. I remember Jimmy saying man I am not going to leave this car out here in the parking lot unattended. He had a bitching old school Buick at the time. We had to end up leaving them though because our girls was dressed to the nines and wanted to go into see ZZ Top and show off their outfits. It is a memory from my younger years I will never forget for sure.
Great reaction to one of the greatest that you'll ever hear❤️ I was lucky enough to see him live once in Chicago-- just before he got really famous. Small street stage at a lakefront festival. I could've died right then and there....and been like, yeah ok, I've seen it all now....I'm good to go!
According to Tommy Shannon (Bass) this is Stevie's best taped performance ever. It also predates his sobriety. An hour before this show Stevie was in a cocaine induced coma and had to be medically "roused" with vitamins, and IV fluids. Hence a lot of extra notes and sweat in the show.
"Stevie was an endless, open channel that music just poured out of. He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played live with him onstage before want to quit."..................Eric Clapton.
