Matt Rempe was back in the lineup for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers - this video talks more about it. #hockey #newyorkrangers #floridapanthers
Watch his post game interview. He’s having so much fun living his dream. Not the most talented or nimble player, but his presence alone just brings a boost. You always preach about “the intangible things” in sports, the kid has it.
The actual Empire State Building actually tweeted it out last night. They posted a picture of the roof lights lit up for the Rangers with the caption "Rempire State Building"
no he doesnt suck at fighting , he went toe to tie with nick deslauruers and left his mark , hes a catalyst that sparks the team . 18-0 with him in the lineup
@@stevenrivers8386 The evidence would suggest otherwise. And his screen for the Rangers second goal yesterday was magnificent. It's okay to be jealous that you don't have him in your line-up. All the other teams feel the same. You are not alone, buddy.
Rempe has some balance issues. I'm sure with him being in the big league now he'll get some work on it in the summer. Seems to fall harder than his opponents. Love the guy though, was so pumped he was on their roster and then I had these feelings too.
@@trappenweisseguy27 Must be great. Front row seats to an NHL game most nights, take it easy on the bench, and then just go out there and try to crush people. As well as being paid more than most of the people watching him play. I still remember scoring an OT winner when I was 18 in Midget hockey, I'm sure just making the NHL is a lifetime of fame for a guy who was never supposed to make it.
Too bad guys like this who MAKE these videos don't know a slewfoot when it's staring him in the face. Officials are still refusing to penalize FL for being so cheap and dirty.
that fact of the matter is that the Rangers play better with him in the lineup. With Chytil back and Wheeler available seeing a player like Kakko get scratched sends a message that the Rangers need to heed: you will not beat the Panthers unless you are willing to go there and be that guy. Mikkola dumps Chytil with a few ticks left in game 1, no one responds or does anything. Lomburg and Kulikov are running around bodying people, they're looking to see what the Rangers do in response and the response is still lacking. Ranger won game 2 and bounced back, but it was a big enough bounce to make me feel like they are really willing and able to do what is necessary to win this series let alone the Cup.
lol because rempe gets close calls called on him and he is told to not take penalties because florida is great on the pp. Its called playing smart, but after last night even though florida had game one they were getting desperate and decided to focus on physical play and in the end that burned them on that ot winner because they rather go for a big hit on trouba and all trouba had to do was take the hit for the pass and goodrow as well as trocheck tore them apart. Whats funny is they look like crybabies starting shit after the game ends for no reason. I love physicality in hockey but rangers dont need to force it if theyre able to take advantage on them continuing to go for big hits and giving up rushes like the goodrow goal.
Dude. They have allowed 2 real goals in 2 games. Even as can be. People say the most bizarre absurd things to the public and make themselves look genuinely lost
If/when Rempe retires from hockey, maybe they could use him in a future James Bond episode if they were to introduce a character representing the grandson of the metal-teeth villain.
Too much media on this guy, it’s ridiculous….he is just a freak goon…..pure and simple…..this is not the 70’s 80,s hockey anymore….if Laviolette wants him in the lineup, that’s fine, one lest player to worry about….he can’t score a goal on an empty net…….LOL…Panthers fan here
Rempe plays good hockey, he’s not making a ton of mistakes, I’d argue Truba makes way more mistakes, Rempe is playing better than Kakko. He needs the experience & he’s not hurting the Rangers so keep him in the lineup
Its a few things 1) he's new and obviously not the greatest skater, however 2) a lot of people just bounce off him 3) I think he's actually being cautious of drawing a penalty on him because of his reputation in such a big game. 4) it really didn't teach him anything. He's exactly what the rangers need.
The kid was a scorer in juniors. He skates fast asf. Past two games he’s been clocked going 23 mph. Great straight line speed. He needs a skating coach to work on his edges. He needs to work on getting the puck to the net off the rush, going down low win the board battle, then just rotate and go to the front of the net. Make no mistake, Kids got a great future. He’s gonna work on some things in the summer, play off the ELC and get paid a lot of millions.
Not really. Only way that happens is if Rempe takes an instigator and then we're down another player the rest of the game. He gets tossed and the Panthers really start to rough us up after the whistle
When Kulikov was a Jet he was made of glass and every big hit was a potential trip to the trainers room. 10 years later with Florida he's solid as Dustin Byfuglien? Go figure.
Dude, just stop...they went into the boards, they were playing and skating hard and Rempke lost his edge and fell...happens all the time in hockey. Stop reaching for a story that ain't there.
What lesson was learned.....that hockey players fall down from time to time......regardless of their size? Even monsters like chara, brashear, orr, etc etc go down in their career. Rempe isnt invincible.....just like every other player in the history of the sport.
Rempe has gone toe-to-toe with the league's most brutal enforcers and got straight up after this check, only to dish one out himself immediately after. A hard lesson? I don't think so, Tim.
The crowd erupted every time he threw a hit and when he got dumped they had no idea what to do lol was so funny Edit: those fans are here in the comments still trying to cope
was quite embarrassing watching rempe gooning around the ice looking for someone to hit and doing not much else. im much preferring the oilers series to this one. a blast from the past, but in a dial-up internet kinda way. the rangers crowd loved it
It’s not even that he got knocked over as a Ranger fan seeing him play the puck and not the body made me so happy to see him sacrifice his body to make the play. Click bait but it’s ok
Rangers 26 left and never returned, and Z-jad was much less notable after he got slammed. It's the flip side of the Rempe factor. Fla has to watch out for his high hits, crosschecks and chargings for about 9 minutes, but the rest of the Rangers have to deal with Florida's hitting for the rest of the game.
@@pmczapczara5332 ya pretty much, Florida is relentless with the hits, if they somehow beat Florida I think who ever makes it out of the west wins the cup and if Florida wins the cup is theirs to lose
Almost a questionable slewfoot. Only way smaller players can take out bigger guys. Happening league wide as new generation of NHL players gets bigger. Hopefully no one gets hurt before action taken by the league.
Noticed a lot of those Panthers hits r pretty high and probably borderline at best!?? Panthers r a dirty cheap team in my opinion and a perfect example of it was When Bennett sucker punched Marchand and got away with 0 punishment!!?? I don't think it should've mattered when it was finally clearly shown that he sucker punched Marchand...he should've been disciplined as soon as the video was out!? And I'm sure the NHL knew what he did well b4 the next game too and for whatever reason didnt show it!? It was really convenient that the 1 angle that really showed it wasn't shown til after the next game was going or was already over!!?? Something was definitely fishy there!? And I don't think it should've mattered!? The NHL should've immediately disciplined him as soon as video was public!? Really they should've known and done something immediately after the game it happened in but either way they should've suspended him at least 1 game and should've fined him!? Really he should've gotten a 2 game suspension!? Marchand had to miss 2 games cuz if his dirty play!? I say if a guy injures someone on an illegal play like that and the guy injured has to miss games then the guy who hurt him should be suspended for same # of games the injured player has to miss!!??? I bet that'd definitely stop guys from deliberately trying to hurt other players with dirty shit like that cheap ass sucker punch!!?? By them not punishing Bennett there they're basically telling him it's ok for him to keep doing it!? He's done it both of the last 2 seasons and both times it's been in 2nd round and he's magically gotten away with it!!?? Last season he did same kinda thing to Mathew Knies and then this season he did it to Marchand!!? And if anything he's getting more blatant with it cuz when he did it to Knies he disguised it Lil more and they got tied up together so wasn't as noticeable but then this season he did it to Marchy and it was more blatant!? He still disguised it some but even in real time u could tell something happened there other than Marchy just trying to hit him and getting worst of it somehow!? And when u see the 1 angle it's clear as day that Bennett punched him in face!!?? The NHL has really gotta crack down on these guys doing cheap shit like that when taking or giving hits!!?? I just saw a video yesterday about Troubas hits and how he elbowed rodrigues in last game and they showed clips of him throwing other hits and there's one common thing he does when he goes to hit guys....he throws his elbow out!!! The league needs to get on him about that and get him to stop throwing elbows like that!? It's a wonder he doesn't get called all the time!!?? Like if he's skating backwards and guy goes to deke around him he'll lean towards guy and throws his elbows out to basically interfere and get in guys way more but often he's throwing his elbow towards guys heads!? And more importantly when he's going to throw a big hit himself he tends to throw his elbows out all the time!? Most importantly tho the league has gotta do something about officiating cuz the refs r getting worse and worse each season!!?? I think they need to add 1-2 refs that r off ice and r up top with access to video and replay, basically like the video coaches each team has do, and whenever the refs on ice make a call the guys up top can quickly look back at it and make sure the correct call is made each time!? That way there's no guessing or any bullshit and then everyone knows it was the right call!? It's so ridiculous when something happens and the refs make a call on ice and the replay is shown on tv and on jumbotron in arena and all the fans can see that the refs clearly made the wrong call but the wrong call is still upheld even tho everyone, except the refs apparently, saw that it was 100% the wrong call!!?? It's just ridiculous and there's zero reason y fans and teams should have to live with wrong calls being made and upheld in 2024!!? We have the technology...we shouldn't be having to live with obvious wrong calls anymore!!?? Also refs need to be made to answer to media after games!? I bet they'd pay much more attention and care more about making sure each call is correct if they had to answer for it when they fuck up!!??
Rempe is a non factor looks odd , shakey on skates and slow- dorkllike and only warrants ice time in the head of rag fans. His presence or non presence doesn’t affect the way the Panthers play. The Cats got a number of crushing hits in game #2. Keep Rempe on the ice as he is a no experience liability!!!! Said Panthers fan
Rempe fanboys. Rempe’s tough and beating wveryone up. : Rempe lost a few fights Fanboys: o but he’s just a kid: You won’t even hear about him in a year or two.
i know the record is good with him in the line up but the minutes the other guys have to pick up bc he's so useless will backfire as the series goes on.
Typical FL - lots of head shots, launching, even Kulikov's little slew foot on Rempe - officials are in the bag for FL - again. Rempe went down ass over teakettle because Lulikov knocked Rempe's right leg out from under him while pushing him backwards
Dave brown would of taken rempe apart , like he did to Caulfield, domi and mcfee. Rempe is low T. Olivier and Deslauries annihilated him. Rangers keep trying to come up with a badass but keep failing
