I stopped working out for about 8 months. Lost all my muscle and abilities in performance. I came back working out for 4 months. Regained nearly all my muscle and abilities. I'm about 90 percent back. I feel like I am going to be be even stronger and my performance has improved. I could not hold a handstand for more than 2 seconds before. Now I'm holding it for 10 seconds. My tuck planche is stronger as well.

Last year I tore my hamstring doing Bulgarian squats. I remember waking up and feeling tired(Just like Bob) but I went for the workout anyway! A month after the injury I had a surgery which took me around 50 days to recover from(so around 80-90 days in total). But the most insane thing was that while in the hospital my Facebook and Instagram also got hacked and later permanently banned. The mental struggle was a real pain in the ass. Seeing all the gains, all the hard work vanishing in front of my eyes was very tough. I'm also on my journey to getting back to where I was. Thanks Bob and Browney for sharing this story. @willcook6967
@willcook6967 Год назад
I feel this dude's pain. A little over two years ago, I ruptured a disc in my lower back. When the disc ruptured, it pushed the nerve column out of line. My legs don't behave the same anymore. My strong leg became my weak leg overnight and squats, deadlift and overhead press are now off my training program permanently due to the injury. If I move my leg wrong during my sleep, my leg seizes up and the pain wakes me up instantly. I was out of work for ten weeks, and in the beginning walking to the bathroom was almost impossible. When I could finally go back to work, I started doing calf raises and stretches on the stairs when my department was quiet. I must have done over 100,000. At first it was all my right leg. My left leg would push along with it just to get some work. After about three months, I was able to do single leg calf raises and now my left leg is as strong, if not slightly stronger than the right. I also do bodyweight squats from time to time, but honestly not as often as I should. They half definitely helped. I have tried to be smart about my training. The areas in which I can't go heavy I have turned my concentration on the contraction of the muscle. Every workout takes its toll on me. I'm almost 50, so working out every day and not getting sore is a thing of the past. The only fairly heavy lifting I can do is bench press, but if I arch too hard or dig my heels in too deep while pressing, I spasm and/or lock up. My goals are bench 315 again and to be able to do decent pullups. I can't get my chin over the bar yet, so I know I will have to lose weight to get there. As it is, it's hard to weigh 270 and have a bad back. It's not easy, but I'm definitely in much better shape than I was when this happened. It hasn't been fun, but I can say I have learned a lot about my body from the experience.

During the lockdown I had lost so much muscle, about a year in I started doing exercise at home when I realised going to the gym wasn't going to be an option for quite a while and I was depressed. In the first few weeks I realised my body was reacting in ways it never had before: not the soreness of working out, but a grinding pain that would send shocks so painful my vision would go white. I went from 67 kg and very fit to almost 100 kg with a ton of fat while trying to get a diagnosis. I always tell people to be grateful, you really don't know when you can become disabled (even if only temporarily). After almost 2 years of meds and doctor appointments and having to readjust to a new life: I'm now only 11 kg away from where I was before the lockdown. In that time I've been told of 4 chronic illnesses and a possible fifth that might be the link between them. Keep going, for as long as you can.

Not being able to workout for that long will fuck me up. I am recovering from Eating Disorder (no final diagnosis yet but it might be bulimia) and working out, aside from regular psych therapy, is a huge chunk of what’s really helping me. This guy did not only lose his muscle but also his money. I can’t imagine what he is going through. Obviously working out is mostly Physical but it is also mentally taxing. I gained a lot of health benefits ever since I started working out but I also acquired some mental disorders due to neglect to mental health. This is a reminder to take rest days seriously and avoid over exertion to minimize injuries. Also, it’s a big help to keep check of our mental health.

I'm currently on month 6 of pulling my back, not only can i not work out but i haven't been outside for all that time, it really REALLY sucks when you get a bad injury. I can't make any gains because of constant injuries....pray for me boys.

@@gitsurfer27 ive been going through the same thing as you man. pulled my mid back and then my tailbone/lumbar 8 months ago from deadlifting/squatting and ive been out of the gym since July of last year. Took me so long because I kept straining it from random movements so it was hard, but now its nearing the end stages I feel and im looking to hop back in the next month or so. All the best and trust me as someone that’s had spinal injury: take time off and focus on other stuff

Been through that, but it was on my lower abdomen. Like he said, I felt nothing, but heard something weird. In a month I lost ~15kg because eating + drinking = bathroom, and any force on the abdomen was like being stabbed. Bathroom took at least 1h since I couldn't force anything. Due to hardly drinking water I also got a kidney stone. Lifting my arms, moving leg, getting up/down, breathing too heavily all pulled on it causing pain. Took over 2 years to recover fully, but I still am afraid to force abdominal exercises because of that. It's crazy how something so serious can have no initial pain at all.

@BlueberryJamPie
@BlueberryJamPie Год назад
@@samakos_rsl6074 Basic situps, I did something wrong forcing it too much. I have no clue, just like how he described it. Doing a random exercise I always did, and it just happened. Now I do crunches mostly because of fear.

Had an accident last year while trying to get back into shape, kneecap went out of the socket and tore free from the muscles surrounding it. It's devastating how much muscle you loose in a few months time... Hope bob does well and his 90 days challenge will get him back into his amazing shape!

Been there, done that. NOT easy. I once fell off my bike and landed on my left hand, eventually breaking one of those little wrist bones. Which I sadly did not know about. So it did not heal well and surgery was needed. Since the surgery, I was unable to work out for 5 months. During that time I felt horrible. Meeting the saddest version of myself. Lost all my progress. Gaining fat. Went from 22 pull-ups to just 3. But, when you fall, you can rise back! Friends a and people around me helped so much. This video is inspiring. I wish everyone who has to go through something like that only the BEST!! You can do it! You´ll be back stronger than ever!

After an injury -at least for what I've learned- it's all about slowly getting back in the routine and prioritize consistency, besides like Bob said, transforming your mindset. You must accept that you wont be back on your previous level of strength for a little while. Just stay positive and work hard. You'll get there🤝

This video is extremely misleading, I do not feel bad for any fake natty since they take the easy route. Anyone whos been lifting for 5+ years would know its physically impossible to lose 22 pounds of muscle in 100 days, especially considering that bob has been training for "15 years." This is just pathetic😂

I know exactly how you feel. Had this same exact injury happen last year April to my left arm. It was really a journey to get back to where I am now. Before the injury I was at 195lbs, after the healing process I was 180lbs and now I'm at 207lbs. Mine snapped from a simple motion of pulling a metal cage forward.

I should have filmed my journey back from injury. I broke my fibula and ruptured my deltoid ligament at the end of August and was non weight bearing for 3 months. I lost all my muscle. As a person who runs and works out frequently it was super weird seeing what looked like a peg leg attached to my body. I’m excited to see this man’s journey and how well he recovers
