Just a Transformation video of all the different versions of He-Man. Yes i know there is the New Adventures of He-Man but I didn't care much for that variation of He-Man.
I grew up watching the original as well, but I will say I really enjoy the 200x one and the new Revalation/Revolution. I love them all, but yes the original is still best to me
I can tell you EXACTLY what the original has that has yet to be replicated - IN ORDER: 1) The iconic voice of John Erwin. -Yes we all love to give credit to Peter Cullen as Optimus' voice, but John Erwin's call of "By the power of Grayskull - I have the POWER!" has yet to be topped. 2) The theme song - which will hearken back to our youths and when we first heard the theme song. 3) The thunder claps and lighting effects. 4) And finally, Battle Cat's unique roar after transformation. Prove me wrong.
I think I have to go with the 2002 version. The classic is, well, classic. It is great. But it looks very 80s. The Revelations version is too long and, as many others have pointed out, very Sailor Moon-esque. But the 2002 version feels like a solid update to the classic.
I think many people are missing out on the sounds. Original 80's transformation had much more powerful sound effects. Real lightning sound that made it feel he was getting stronger during the transformation.
I like all three. Yes. You read it right. All three may be different in their presentations but certainly did not deviate too far from what makes He-Man and the Masters of the Universe special: they all have the power.

Nothing will ever top the OG because it’s so ingrained from my childhood. That being said tho. 2002 respected it and the show was still good IMO. As far as the smith version. The aesthetic, Bear’s soundtrack and the callbacks to the 80s. It’s exactly what I needed to remember why I love MOTU
A lot of people here over-praise the 80’s version. That’s fine. It is their childhood after all. I never really saw the 80’s He-Man so I don’t have the same connection. For me, it’s the 2002 version. 80’s was their childhood, 2002 was mine.
For me, 2002 had the better Battlecat look, but the He-man transformation, that was the 80's without question, couple that with the 2002 Battlecat and your on to a winner.
Setting aside the improvements in animation (which is an obvious given for both the sequels), the WAY in which it was done with the original was the best. Simple transformation, misted out by light and power. You don't see a naked Adam becoming a naked He-Man with rainbow swooshes and bull crap everywhere (newest abortion) and it's not protracted and empty as the second version show was. The only thing both newer versions got right was having Adam be thin and less defined - not weak, but certainly not a muscle bound barbarian in purple as the original had it. Calling down the power in a normal voice, BOOM transformation - sudden and shocking, and then a reverbing voice crying out "I have the POWER!" = that is how it should have always been done. Also - the theme music. Change to something new, okay, fine. But it has to be UTTERLY HEROIC. HE-MAN is the star. HE-MAN is the hero. The original cartoons had other side characters shine at times, but it was ALWAYS He-Man in the centre. And the theme reflected that. The second versions... utterly forgettable. The newest? A little more correct. But if felt "everywhere" without settling. Trying to elevate the show by forcing it, but the show itself was so utterly ruinous to itself that the music came off as a joke. The newest crap served up deserves to be buried. Keep your social progressive crap out of entertainment. You're only ruining it.
Why does revelation transformation feel like the Centurians gadgets being attached to Heman 😂 Nothing beats the original 80s version even after so many years
They all have there greatest attributes and you can tell they were all great in there own way. However the reason and the only reason the 80s will be the best is because it was the original. You can always replicate a show but never duplicate in the way kids remember. The 80s with the echo, the theme song, the real I have the power just makes he man the real deal!
Yeah!) I always saw the original cartoon just like something very old, iconic and "burned-to-the-hearts" for many fans. And this kid show is still pretty good, especially looking at it from today. The 2002's show is just ... just "Epic!" and "Cool!". And for me it was even expected! ^^" Because ... it was this time, TMNT, Star Wars, He-Man and many others. They almost just have that "cool element" with them, and I still admire that ... "coolness?" which these cartoons show to teenagers and kids. ... And the third. ... It wasn't even named "He-Man", but just "Master of the Universe: Revelation", and everyone still understood that this is the show from the He-Man franchise!) While I ... I saw it like the opportunity to finally be introduced to the series. ... And I liked it. )) So, yes, maybe there isn't enough "He-Man", but this show (even more of "Anime" than ever before) became a "Revelation" for me and some other kids. I liked it, didn't even pretend to seek for the "progressive elements" (because everyone alse already was talking about it), and felt ... "Power"! To thes days I still feel some goosebumps by transformation in Revelation and like it the most. And so ... I can say, and be agree with you, that all three of these shows are good in their own ways, and there will be many fans of each of them. I ... I find it even pleasent to be in this way. Just like with Transformers, where everyone can be fan of their own favorite version of the series (or like many of them at the same time). 😌
I got to give it to Revelations. Watching Adam and Cringer using a Sailor Moon type transformation scene is pretty awesome. Helps that the music is also good.
I too will say it the original is the best and will always be the best!!! They never tried to change Superman's theme music !!! Nothing is hardly ever better than the original!!!
The original is the best. However I loved revelation. Much better fight scenes made it feel like DBZ. My only problem was Mark Hamil making Skeletor sound exactly like the Joker.
I don't even like He-man (could never stand any of the filmation cartoons) but I have to agree, compared to the rest, 80's version is the best. 2002 tries too hard, and revelation is literally a Sailor Moon transformation, which would explain why Adam loos so girly.
Original is good, but looks like it doesn't change anything except his outfit. Second best. 2003 Adam looks like he can actually do stuff before transforming. The actual transformation is quick and gets across how much stronger he is. Clear winner in my book. Revealtion Adam look goofy and the transformation goes on too long for my liking. Plus side, it really shows how much stronger he becomes. Last place, unfortunately.

2002 version better naturally the 80s version will be something of a phenomenon because it was the first of its kind but it got darker during the 2000s early better 2002 and of course both eras are better than anything going today now he's more than likely to not have the he-man transformation but remain as Adam and somehow get the job done while wearing the pink vest lol
It's funny...2002's version feels like it fits right in the middle....Classic-ish feel but updated. Revelations is def the endgame of all the transformations, tho.
The 2002 version is just as awesome as the original. The others all pale in comparison. And slightly off-topic, the 2002 version is much more faithful to the original.
I like the rainbow effects of revelations as white light is a mixture of different colours but wish the whole change was more of a simple burst like the original 2,,, its like a power rangers morph taking time,

I like the 1980 original version . It is almost a tie with the 2002 Heman.. The 2002 is truer to the original. For some reason the newer versions, except for 2002 are crappy looking. Cheaply done. The cartoon doesn’t look as good compared to the original 80 version and the 2002. It is like the technology they used to make the cartoon went backward.
