I'd forgotten the waiting for him part. I remember Camby was going to hit Ferry from behind and little Jeff van Gundy got in his way and stopped him. I don't remember if that was the same game or a different game. I'm not saying Camby's behavior was perfect, but I've disliked Ferry ever since that game. @@robertwelch4794
If he'd've been a hockey player, they'd've called him a "goon" -- the player who might not have been the best scorer or defenseman on the team but was good at starting fights with the best player on the other team that got them injured to the point where they couldn't play the rest of the game or troll them into being the one to start the fight which took them off the ice by either sending them to the penalty box or got them ejected from the game entirely. And, if the goon also got benched or ejected for their involvement in the fight, it was no big loss for their team, because they served their strategical and tactical purpose
I'm glad nobody is mentioning this because it's actually a known fact because it was in an interview even Jordan said after that confrontation though he respected Steve Kerr a whole lot more because even out of Jordan's mouth he said Steve Kerr held his own 🤷
@@berto70593you can’t have 1 highlight fight and pretend it happened every game in todays league like they do with the 90’s? lol go watch a 90’s game start to finish and then let’s talk about the current league. Bums like Danny ferry, Stacy king, Greg ostertag, etc don’t make the g league now but started in finals hahahaahahah
@@gregthegoatostertag8579Danny Ferry would be an All Star in today’s league the guy was a sniper in an era big men weren’t allowed to shoot. Stacy King is a solid bench big in any era with his size and athleticism.
@@Jimmy-ik2kcHe never got hurt and he never shed any blood playing against the pistons.. but Detroit was a dirty team, the whole league played dirty. Including the bulls...
@@mowilliams8511There's dirty and then there is physical. I've played pick up games that were just as physical as what you saw on t.v. No one got hurt or went to jail. It was just basketball. The rules of pro ball have been changed so much that anything done back then, were it done in today's game, might have you in front of a grand jury.
lol the funniest part is people like you pretend that the 90’s were like this. They simply weren’t. Tough plays were few and far between and the talent was meh. The best teams MJ beat in the 90’s were the jazz and the knicks lmao Ostertag, Russell and hornacek started in two finals 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Ewing, starts, Oakley, mason was an elite 90’s team bahahahaha the tough and elite defense was drop the ball to a center and space out so the oaf can operate for 10 seconds 1 on 1. Handchecking was called defense 😂 the 90’s were trash and that’s why MJ was 6 for 6….but couldn’t even make a conf finals in his prime in the 80’s vs real comp who were actually good at ball and tough
This is the generation that made the NBA a global phenomenon. TV's here in europe started broadcasting some games late at night and there was a weekly tv show. Jordan, Hakeem, Ewing, Shaq... Golden generation. I have quite good memories of the late 90's early 00's too. Tracy Mac, Iverson, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Nowitzki. The NBA is still awesome but the league should work on the referring. It's been worse over the years.
Wouldn’t have mattered when your team is light years better than the second best team in the weakest era of nba basketball in history. Ostertag, Russell and hornacek started for two finals teams and rik smits was an all star 😂😂😂😂😂 elite teams like the knicks and pacers 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@kingmtjthegreatmillionaire it's not more skilled now. There's no defense. When every game is defended like an all star game, it's going to appear like that athletes are better.
@@nicholasl8249 There was no defense back then what are you talking about you had guys that would flagrant foul you cause they can’t guard a amazing player. Not only that they needed hand checking this generation doesn’t need hand checking yet we still manage to come up with good defensive plays. An did you forget they literally had to move up the 3 point line back then because 9 times out of 10 players were shooting midranges or throwing to the big man in the paint.
@@nicholasl8249 Not to mention so many players were doing crack in the 80s look at Jordan old teammates when he first came into the league it’s in the documentary about his teammates doing crack. A lot of them were doing would hide it in their sock or put Alcohol in the bottle making look like they’re drinking water. Why you think most of those players didn’t have super long careers. With the exception of some.
He was actually punching Stockton in the torso (maybe 97 or 98 finals) while physical contact. That's because he was tired of defending him so he's trying to break him. But Stockton says meh!😅 You can still watch it.
Stacy King and Cliff Levingston were the enforcers on those Bulls teams. Not at the level of the ones for the Pistons and Knicks, because Chicago didn’t need it as much. But they still had their guys that would lay down the law when necessary.
@David.Fit21 lebron would flop to avoid a fight that man in that era would be a bench warmer wit all his complaining n flopping. Driving to the paint his first couple would have em think bout a future in the league
No he didn't he knew no one would attack him being a white guy if king had hurt Kerr he would have been suspended. . None of them could fight. Kerr least of all.
I gotta say Mike being able to keep himself in check is probably one of the most Great Player thing a guy can do in a moment that important to the team. Good on him it shows the level of maturity/professionalism he had. as
@strongereveryday2302 100% I lived in the Bay those years... Anybody could have coached that team and won... Knowing nothing about basketball, I could have coached that Warriors team vs the Knicks coached by Kerr and won easily.
The NBA was must watch tv back then...especially Jordan.. he was like a God. I remember watching a video of people from other countries crying and passing out when seeing him walk off the bus. Same w Michael Jackson at his concerts and they coincidentaly have the same initials
That's why Jordan is the GOAT! MJ never flops because he is the Alpha Male of basketball. The one chasing Jordans legacy will have to play a hundred years to catch up .
You don’t need to flop as much when you have the friendliest whistle in nba history. Even then he still had the audacity to complain to refs. Jordan has 8.2 FTA per game as a shooting guard, that’s ridiculous. Do you seriously think in his 15 years in the nba that he’s never tried to sell a foul?
@QuadLamb my friend you should know the difference between fishing a foul to get to the free throw line. Stars like Harden, Curry ,Kd, Tree Young and etc do that because it adds points on the board and that's not flopping or selling because it actually is a foul. When a 6'8 250 pounds of muscle in the person of LBJ gets knocked out by a finger now that's flopping. I hope my analogy is clear for you.
You gone push through this King. Your dukes is always gone be there in spirit to guide you fam. Been fwu for a while and not even gone cap you, when you broke the news I felt like I lost a close relative n you don’t even know me and I I only know you through yo platforms. I wish nothing but healing and safe and positive vibes gang🙏🏾
That's why Jordan is not only the goat in the NBA but he is the goat in all sports and always will be and honestly it's not even close ... no one will ever do for sports what he did
As a kid playing ice hockey I was hit from behind (cardinal sin) that should have been a penalty. My coach said to me, "I know you're mad. Mad at the ref, and mad at that other kid. Get back at them on the scoreboard". I went out and put two goals in the net that night. Sometimes malicious actions have consequences that you didn't see coming. Nothing scarier that a man on a mission with nothing to lose!
Michael Jordan is probably one of the best sportsman the world has ever seen, he’s a very disciplined person, refuses to speak politics in public, and only has one determination to win.
This is the golden rule: If you get attacked don't retaliate. Bench warmers are there for a reason..😂😂 This clip also reminds me of when I was playing in HS. I got punched in the back. In the 2nd half, he was sent to the orthopedic by one of my rookies.😂😂😂
