I'm 24 and my DNA methylation age is 8.64 years old, and my phenotypic age is a little over 8 as well. I have taken dozens of supplements in college, and my rate of aging is 1/3. I theorize that my starting already young removed all the very little damage of telomere attrition and methylation problems. All hallmarks of aging have been ameliorated. TLDR: I do not believe that an older person can achieve 1/3 rate of aging, unless you start as a teen or in your early 20s.

I learned of Bryan Johnson only recently. I grew up being told that I was born in 2001 but I learned last month that I was really born in 2002. I was put into school based on that birth date and got my driver's license and even to vote a year sooner than I should have. The voting thing turned out to still be legal as I was still old enough to vote based on the wrong year. I'm adopted from Ukraine and brought to USA by American couple. They divorced when I was age 9. I had never seen my US naturalization papers and there learned I was born in October 2002 not 2001. I got 1 year younger without trying. I was put into gymnastics by age 4 and stayed in through age 17 (used to think until age 18). I have exercised my body far back as I can remember. My adoptive mom was into clean eating and I never ate breads and sugary things. She never added sugars and I continue with that. I didn't know I was doing intermittent fasting but that was my normal eating format. I got severely beat up at age 15 just before turning age 16 by older athletes who wanted to see how long my abs muscles could take their punches. Unfortunately I could last a very long time. That night changed my life. I moved more into building up a lot of lean muscle (legs in particular) and less doing gymnastics. I'm not so much wanting to live as long as possible but to be very healthy. I've had < 10% body fat all my life and assume both my phenotype and my lifestyle (exercise and nutrition). The only supplements I use are whey protein and collagen protein I buy at Costco's. I lift weights 4 times a week and train my abs 5-6 times a week. I'm very happy with my physique and have no desire to be larger or heavier. I'm 5'9" and weight 178 lbs. I haven't done much with jogging or other cardio. I work full time in construction currently. I feel that I'm on the very young side of the people on your Leaderboard. But now I'm age 21 and not age 22. I'm still getting used to this idea.

Dan already is retired imo. For most people the point of retiring is being able to exit the rat race and wage slavery. If he’s not compelled to work to survive, he’s retired imo. Sadly, a barely-livable pension is the closest approximation to financial freedom that most people can expect. Whether one finds more happiness and meaning pursuing projects (aka working) on one end of spectrum, or leisure and spending time with family and friends on the other, is personal preference and can change during retirement or financial freedom. It seems to be in style lately for rich people to talk about raising the age or retirement and making stupid statements that show their class bias. The working class generally wants to retire sooner rather than later, and I think even more people would want to if we changed our cultural attitudes around retirement as only leisure and idleness instead of freedom to dedicate your energies to what you value (which may be idleness and video games for some - no judgment).

@@Leonhart_93 doesn't matter why it matters that it works. Back in the good days i was training twice a day. 6200m standard training x2 ..5000 cal were not enough to keep up . Michael Phelps had to eat 12000 cal/day . That's a challenge :) So water 24C it's like soup you won't be able to perform, 21C seems ok 19C enough to make you sprint 15-16C you can't rest a min or you'll start shaking (also another way of burning calories :)))) )

@@ahnehtub2 It matters though. It's not like we talk about just losing weight here. We talk about calories here as a measure of the intensity and duration of training. Just burring calories is not exactly training. Chilling in cold weather will also burn calories, but it's not the same as training.

@@Leonhart_93 you're right. probably Michael Phelps was just sitting in the water for that amount of burning. I'm talking about burning using all the muscles of the body and developing pulmonary capacity like no other sport does.

Sorry, but to say that you don’t meditate because you already have a good state is like to say that you stop workout, because you reached a good body. It will eventually wear off. You don’t need to do meditation, there are different ways to keep you mindset, but it is exactly as a workout - if you stop doing it your mindset will fall down.

@@johns4651 That's what I figured. It would about 1/3 of a marathon everyday. That would be acute kidney injury on a daily basis. Excessive exercise can be damaging to organs and joints.

A rich old man, who lives healthy ordinary life, nothing special here, so I don't see what brings him to top. He is on TRT and who knows what, I'm not convinced that he is on the top of the list thanks to anything special except good genetics that a minority of the population carry (look it up).
