Glad I got a chance to see him pitch live vs Ohtani and the Dodgers and the Pirates won the series 2-1. My son picked the dodgers series to go to early on in the season before Paul Skeens was brought up from triple-A, and we were fortunate enough to see him compete and win after striking out Ohtani on 3 pitches and the Ohtani hit a bomb off Paul Skeens on the 2nd AB. In the next game O’Neil Cruz hit a line drive dinger bomb into the River.

He absolutely deserves the slot in the all-star game. Grew up a Dodgers fan, bled Dodger Blue for years. Got fed up by the bs shenanigans going on between players and owners and quit watching baseball completely. The hype around this guy brought me back. Now I'm just hoping the Dodgers can get Skenes in a trade in a couple of years.

Despite Skenes making the All Star team in his first year I feel like that’s not exactly impressive enough for him to be called great. Not saying Skenes is bad and is overrated but that making the All Star team is more of a fan preference and liking to players than making it cuz they actually good and deserve it. All though I do believe a lot of fans voted for him cuz he’s been very impressive so far.
