Pretty sure the title addresses Amon & co. Oskar was so focused on giving them water that made Amon suspicious of him. Yeah its actually in the description
Ralph's Oscar loss to Tommy Lee Jones is still widely considered one of the great Oscar misses. No disrespect to Tommy Lee; I loved him in "The Fugitive." But really, which performance are we still discussing?
@@shrekupine4445 yep, autofill sucks. So many of my comments have to be reviewed and edited because autofill picks whatever word it thinks. I try to type, "don't" and the first thing that pops up is "Don". Yes...because "Don" is used so much more in daily speech than "don't". And countless more. 🤦♂️
I try to imagine the fine line that Schindler must have walked between his genuine desire to his fellow human beings and the realization that he must appear completely indifferent to their suffering or risk not only his life or his family's, but also theirs. I wonder what was going through his mind at moments like this.
They knew about him helping Jews. But the amount of money he was bribing officials was so much they just let it happen.. the nazis figured they would die eventually and they didn’t anticipate loosing the war. So they just tried to bleed Schindler dry by taking all of his money
Amazing that George Lucas was able to take the level of talent he brought together for The Phantom Menace cast and get them all to regress down to wooden actors....Liam, Portman, McGregor.....Ray Park
Kissing a Jew? You mean Jewish. The fact is Jews are biblical people who have lost their identity and Jewish are converts that converted to a religion/Judaism. Jewish Israeli historians Shlomo Sand and Ilan Pappe made it very clear that Jewish people aren't the bloodline descendants from the biblical Jews but are converts that converted to Judaism in the mid 19th century and furthermore never exiled from Palestine. Also Jewish author Arthur Koestler wrote a book "The 13th Tribe" stating very clearly that Jewish people are not from the 12 tribes of Israel but are from the war tribe of "Khazaria" which is Ukraine... this is where Jewish people originated from not Palestine.
Amon Goeth, goes without saying the guy was a colossal POS in real life. He was executed at the end of the war and I think they had to make several attempts to hang him. Must have been agonizing for him but it's beyond insignifigant when compared to the agony he inflicted on others.
Yeah? That piece of shit saved Oskar Shindler from rotting in jail or worse when he stood up for him to his seniors.. People aren't all bad, or all good.
@@kevinotoole885 it is a sad film but it’s also one that shows a glimmer of humanity in a time of overwhelming cruelty. I’d watch it because the ending will make anyone cry and appreciate life.
@@joelthorpe4170 True, but he redeemed himself in the eyes of the Jews so much so that he was declared righteous by them and when he died he was buried in Jerusalem. The others had no such inclinations.
He was making a ton of money off of him. After the scene where the workers were stopped while commuting to Schindler's factory and the one armed guy was shot he tells Schindler "What you want is your own sub-camp. Do you have any idea what's involved? The paperwork alone?". What he meant by that is it's going to cost you.
I like how subtle this movie is. The director really let's the audience make up their own mind about who is good and who is evil without rubbing their nose in it.
The director is Steven Spielberg. This is one of almost a dozen movies he made over his career that addressed WWII, or elements of it in some fashion. He was intent on recreating the actions and situations of those who were perpetrators of these horrible crimes against humanity and those who were working at odds against them, without alienating the current generation or passing judgement on the previous one.
Everyone's work in the film is top rate; Spielberg is generally a good director of actors. Liam Neeson was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar but lost to Tom Hanks in "Philadelphia." Ralph was nominated for Best Supporting Actor but lost to Tommy Lee Jones. To this day I read string discussions from people who still can't believe Ralph lost.
I'm 43, I've never seen this film. I could tell, that the sadistic leader was starting to see that the guy in the suit was giving them water, cooling them down and refreshing them. He was being nice to them and the psychopath soldier saw it. (Been seeing Schindlers list on YT shorts Alot)
Hope comes in many forms. Jesus said “whatever you do for the least of these my brethren, you do for me.” He was telling them to heed, clothe, give water to drink. All basic needs which give us hope that things will be ok, that we can make it, even if it’s only for another day!!

My grandfather fought in the war with the US Army in a Tank Destroyers battalion and was severely wounded in France, and he never spoke very much about it. He passed away in 1997, but a few years before he did he and my grandmother got a VCR. The only movie they owned was Schindler’s List.
In the scene we can see the filthly cruelty of Amon that dares to joke about the suffering of those innocent people and how Oskar's humanity gets the better of his cover.
The only honest portrayal he's ever done. Schindler's factory didn't produce a single working weapon during the war. Liam has spent the rest of his career bathing in hypocrisy.
Amon was hung for his cruelty. His granddaughter is bi-racial, German and African. She wrote a book. The tittle is something like "My grandfather would have wanted me killed".
Algorithms push a ziocentric bias, anyone seeing a Jewish made film is experiencing propaganda to shape one's perception of historical reality. It's a film loosely based on real events, funny how you dont see algorithms pushing the atrocities committed by the Russians once they arrived in Germany, the millions of rapes including children the 10s of thousands murdered violently and brutally by the incoming Jewish reds! The Russian revolution was a Jewish revolution and Germany knew that the jews were ready to take Germany like they did Russia, that is the crux of why Hitler didn't like the jews, that plus the Balfore declaration that sold ww1 Germany out by German Jews for the procurement of Palestine.

Everyone should see this movie as well as Life is Beautiful, The zookeeper's wife, and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. These films will gut you but are important watches
There's a 1990s video interview with a Jewish lady who worked in Goeths villa alongside Helen Hirsch. She describes how evil Goeth really was , far worse than the movie.
We finished watching Schindler's list after 2 days in history class. I asked my history teacher if the senseless killings were real, " how could they value human lives cheaper than of animals?". He said " Sadly, that happened. I wasn't there but my grandpa was, the stories he told me are much worse. They can only show you so much on film".
I saw this film when it was in theaters. A very old lady sitting behind my girlfriend and I was talking to her friend, saying things like “That’s what X was like, except it was much bigger/smaller/whatever.” She was obviously a survivor of the Holocaust. After the film was over, you could have heard a pin drop in the packed theater. Everyone just got up and left slowly. We were all numb. It was quite an experience, and a testament to Spielberg’s talent that he could portray such a horrific event in history with such detail and authenticity. The memory of old lady who sat behind us still haunts me.
I read at the time of the film's release that Ralph had a bit of counseling after shooting SL because living in Goeth's head for so many weeks was very draining. Ralph is a quiet and intellectual man and he also has Eastern European relatives. I salute the courage it took for such a young actor (he was 32 at the time) to step in and plumb the layers of that role. I hope he will always be proud of the work he did, it's an extraordinary, riveting performance.
Current yt short series/movie algorothm timeline: -Bojack Horseman -Peaky Blinders -The Sopranos -Shameless -Breaking Bad -Better call Saul -Schindler's list
Well, the filmmakers made the conscious decision that they were going to have to play down some of Goeth's actual atrocities because they thought it would strain the audience's sense of credulity to present them. What they did include was freaking scary enough. Goeth was terrifying, a true psychopath. Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes became close friends while making this movie. Reportedly Liam tried to comfort Ralph when he lost the Best Supporting Actor Oscar by telling him if he had won Ralph would be typecast as a Nazi forever. Fortunately Ralph managed to avoid that dilemma.
Agreed. Today, a former President’s house was raided by the FBI. Like Trump or hate him, a very, very dangerous precedent has been set. If they can do it to a former President, imagine what can now do to you.
I’ve always said this was one of those great films you only need to see once cause it’s just so sad but idk I kinda wanna watch it again. Been a long long time
@@Max77Prime trade one Evil for another, more depraved form?? No thanks. Also, Capitalism can of course get out of hand...but if u outlaw it you can have no true freedom.
Yep. The producers of the Potter series said Ralph was their first and only choice to play Lord Voldemort. The funny thing is that Ralph was not at all familiar with the Potter books when they approached him with the role.
When this movie is shown on TV in germany, it will not be interrupted by commercial breaks. I don't know if the commercial breaks are forbidden or just an agreement between the TV-stations to not do it
Ralph also played the main villain, Ramses, in Prince of Egypt Quite literally, the main bad guy of that movie and the main good guy were brothers, although adopted
They should let every teenager watch this movie in school. Just to let them know how fucking sick mankind can be. And that these things shouldn't happen ever again
I tell you, even though actors playing nazis makes a good job, because I'm always scared of those characters, I bet the real nazis were much, much scarier.
The Expulsion of the ghetto with the little girl running around in fear with the red coat on... Machine gun fire in so many apartments and the little girl just trying to hide from them... Later on, we see that little red coat in pile. I knew she'd be killed but it really was upsetting. Spielberg's masterpiece

Such a weird feeling trying to understand what Amon must be really thinking inside...disgust? curiosity? a moment of guilt and self reflection? This moment must have had an impression because he later tries to practice 'mercy' (though fails miserably). Amon's twisted mind couldn't grasp it.
I think in the film atleast Amon admired Schindler and thought he could be more like him, but was unable to be as charismatic and likable and just thought "fuck it" when the mercy approach didn't work as well as he would have hoped. I think he still was a bit jealous of Schindler's ability even when he quit trying to do the same.
