Head Hunter India Pale Ale from Fat Heads Brewery out of Middleburg Heights, Ohio Is an "Aggressively Hopped West Coast IPA." This beer won the 2023 World Beer Cup Gold for American IPA. It also won the World Beer Cup Silver in 2012, the GABF Silver in 2010, Bronze in 2011 and was the National IPA Championship Winner in 2010 and 2012. At 7.5% ABV and 80 IBUs this beer poured out a bronzish yellow with a giant head caused by my knobheaded pour. The beer smelled like fresh tropical fruits. It had a nice light on the verge of medium body with a little bit of syrupy viscousness. The flavors were Tropical fruits, piney notes and some slight bitterness. All the flavors were mild and well balanced. This is a super crushable beer that would catch up to you quick with that 7.5% abv that is well hidden. This is an excellent West Coast style IPA.
